Harinagar, March 11: Shri Manojit Halder Pradhan Gram Panchayat Harinagar highlighted the dire need of construction of two number of black-top roads in Harinagar village under his Gram Panchayat Harinagar.
Speaking to Andaman Sheekha Daily, the Pradhan, GP Harinagar said that there is a long cherished demand of two numbers of Rural Roads- one from ATR (NH-4) to Panchu Gopal Das house and the other one from the house of Smti Joshana Das to Chandra Mohan Adhikari house at Harinagar. The residents in the area were settled during the year 1968, but unfortunately there are reportedly no roads in this part of Harinagar village till date, and as a result of which the villagers have been facing severe commuting woes since their settlement, Mr. Halder said. Farmers in the area are reportedly the worst affected in transporting their produce to their houses after harvesting them, while the residents in the area have to face wrath of the situation especially during rainy season owing to absence of connecting roads there, he decried. However, the Pradhan, GP Harinagar reportedly laid special emphasis on constructing these two rural roads soon after he was sworn in as the Pradhan, GP Harinagar, he claimed. He has been reportedly pursuing the paper works of these two roads since the last two years with the competent Authority, he maintained.
Shri Manojit Halder alongwith Shri Dilip Kumar Das PSM Harinagar reportedly met Shri Prijith Rekh the Chief Engineer of APWD on 05/03/2025 and discussed regarding the status of these two of Rural Roads: that is C/o Rural Road starting from ATR (NH-4) to Panchu Gopal Das house at Harinagar and C/o Rural Road starting from the house of Smti Joshana Das to CM Adhikari house at Harinagar. The Chief Engineer reportedly told them that due to the fund related issues the said works were reportedly not taken up and the CE further assured the Pradhan that in the month of April the tender will be floated for the same and the work of the road construction will reportedly be commenced very soon, Mr. Halder said.
The residents of Ward No. 3,4,5 & 6 will reportedly be much benefitted once these two rural roads are constructed, the optimistic Pradhan further said.
