HRS Appeals PM for Low-Cost Air Ambulance Services in Andaman & Nicobar Islands
Sri Vijaya Puram, Dec. 30: In a appeal to the Prime Minister of India, Mr. Anshuman Roy, State Youth President of Hindu Rashtra Shakti, has highlighted the dire need for low-cost air ambulance services in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The letter emphasizes the challenges faced by the islanders due to the remote location and limited medical facilities, which often delay critical medical treatment.
Mr. Roy pointed out the exorbitant costs currently charged by private operators, ranging between Rs. 30 lakh to Rs. 50 lakh, for emergency airlift services. He stressed that these costs are unaffordable for most residents, leaving them with limited options during medical emergencies.
The letter proposes actionable solutions to address this pressing issue, including:
1. Low-Cost Pricing: Establishing affordable rates to ensure that the service is accessible to all.
2. Subsidies: Providing government subsidies to further reduce costs for those in need.
3. Public-Private Partnerships: Collaborating with private operators to offer the service while keeping costs manageable.
Highlighting the life-saving potential of such a service, Mr. Roy stated, “Initiating low-cost air ambulance services would not only enhance healthcare accessibility but also serve as a critical lifeline for the islanders during emergencies.”
Hindu Rashtra Shakti urged the government to take immediate action, considering the unique challenges faced by the residents and tourists in the region. The appeal reflects the growing demand for improved healthcare infrastructure and equitable access to emergency medical services in the islands.
