Port Blair, Dec 03: International Day of Person with Disability organized by the Block Project Officer, Campbell Bay on 3rd December 2024. All together 11 nos CWSNs and their parents participated. A cultural program was organized at Auditorium of PM SHRI GSSS Campbell Bay in coordination with the CWSNs. Smti Rameshwari, Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Campbell Bay was the Chief Guest of the inaugural function.
Exposure visits and Sports are also organized at Magar Nallah beach at Campbell Bay. All the CWSNs & their parents actively participated in all Sports. Prizes & consolation prizes are distributed to all the Students. The Programme was concluded with vote of thanks by Miss Janifa, BRP(CWSN).

Medical Officers Trained on AEFI Surveillance and Response Guidelines at AYUSH Hospital
Port Blair, Dec 03: A day long training program was conducted in the Conference Hall of AYUSH Hospital, Sri Vijaya Puram for Medical Officers’ on Adverse Event Following Immunization (AEFI), Surveillance & Response: Operational Guidelines -2024 today. The program was jointly organized by WHO, UNDP, NHM and Directorate of Health Services, A&N Administration. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Anil Agarwal, Secretary (Health), A&N Administration as chief guest in the presence of Dr. Suja Antony, Director (Health), Dr. Subhodeep Bhuiyan, Consultant WHO along with officials from UNDP and DHS.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Anil Agarwal, Secretary (Health) spoke about the need for quality of vaccination, proper supply chain management and improvement of database and reporting. In her address, Dr. Suja Antony emphasized on the importance of proper reporting for vaccination in the Islands.
A total of 26 Medical Officers across the UTs of Andaman and Nicobar Islands participated in the training. The training is aimed at the orientation about the new Handbook on AEFI Surveillance & Response: Operational Guidelines -2024 published by MoH&FW, New Delhi.
The training will help in improving the vaccination coverage in the Islands including better reporting so as to improve the coverage with special focus on AEFI case reporting. Further, it also aimed at orientating and training and participating in the context of introduction of new vaccines and surveillance of vaccine preventable diseases.
