Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 13: The Andaman & Nicobar Administration is organising a 2 days training programme consisting of three sessions for the Master Trainers and other stakeholders of RTI in respect of Online RTI Portal on Nov.13 &14, 2024 in association with the NIC, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), New Delhi. The faculties, Shri Y. V. Ramana (Sr. Director (IT), (Retired)), Consultant, NIC-DoPT and Shri Abhishek, Project Manager, NIC-DoPT, New Delhi, are the resource persons for the training.
The training programme was inaugurated by Ms. Sapna Priya, Director (UD) as chief guest. Shri Shivaji Mukherjee, SIO, NIC and Shri Sendil Kumar, Joint Director, NIC were also present on the occasion. Altogether, 102 participants are participating in the training programme.
Earlier, Shri K.Palani, Office Superintendent, AR & Trg. Wing welcomed the gathering while Smti Shailaja, Assistant Secretary (AR&Trg.) A&N Administration, proposed the vote of thanks.

 

Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 13: The general public have been informed that the newly installed Automated Tsunami Sirens at District Office, South Andaman and Tehsil Office Ferrargunj will be tested by the BSNL, Sri Vijaya Puram and its team for activating the Sirens with full array of speaker for multiple times as & when test requires from 14.11.2024 to 16.11.2024 and checking of its proper functionality.
In this regard, the general public have been advised not to be alarmed and panic by the sights and sound associated with the above testing. General public have been encouraged to continue their daily routine as normal. There is no need to take any special precautions or alter your plans due to this Automated Tsunami Sirens Test.

Sri Vujaya Puram, Nov 13: For the December-2024 Term End Examination of the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has uploaded the Exam Hall Tickets at www.ignou.ac.in. All the examinees of Andaman & Nicobar Islands are advised to download the Hall Ticket immediately by clicking the link https://hall_ticket.ignou.ac.in/hall1224/ignouhallticketDEC2024.aspx. They may also check their name and enrolment number in the Examinees List at their Exam Centre. Along with the downloaded Hall Ticket, student must produce IGNOU Student Identity Card (original) to enter the exam hall. If any problem is faced in downloading the hall ticket, students may contact at IGNOU Regional Centre, Port Blair (03192-242888/230111) or e-mail to rcportblair@ignou.ac.in. The exam starts from 02nd December, 2024 at all eight exam Centres located at: Campbell Bay, Mayabunder, Diglipur, Rangat, Nancowrie (Kamorta), Car Nicobar, Hut Bay and JNRM-Port Blair.

Sri Vujaya Puram, Nov 13: The General Body meeting of Clerical Cadre Branch of Non-Gazetted Govt. Officers’ Association was held on 09th November, 2024 at Port Blair which discussed upon various issues pertaining to the AC Cadre employees working in Andaman and Nicobar Administration. Speaking on the occasion, as the Chief Guest, Mr. P.Sathyapal, Former President of NGOs’ Association urged upon the AC Cadre staff to do their work sincerely while knowing about their genuine rights and to fight for achieving it. He advised the members to remain united for the ongoing struggles against the anti-employees’ policies of the central government. Mr. R.Surendran Pillai, Former Asst. General Secretary of NGOs’ Association recalled the valiant struggles of the Association for various benefits which are being enjoyed by the AC Cadre employees at present like Cadre re-structuring, stopping directing recruitment to the post of Head Clerk, Government quarters, etc. Presenting his views, General Secretary of the Association, Mr. R.Rajendran, highlighted the recent achievements of the Association in which few staff from A & N Administration were inducted in DANICS Cadre after strong intervention by UT Administration, filling up of vacant posts, timely promotion to the staff of all categories, CGHS facilities to all pensioners, etc.
Earlier, Mrs. Usha Rajendran, Vice President of the Association welcomed the members of the Association and urged them to remain in unity with the NGOs’ Association which is one of the oldest and recognised service Association of these islands. Mr. Salman Khan, Secretary of the branch presented the working report of the functioning of Clerical Cadre branch while Mrs. Geeta Surendran, Treasurer presented the Accounts Report.
Mr. R.D.Yadav, Vice President, Mr. S.L.Vinjit, Asst. General Secretary and Mr. E A Johnson, Finance Secretary of NGOs’ Association also expressed their views in the general body meeting. Members actively participated in the discussions and several resolutions pertaining to the issues of AC Cadre employees were adopted in the meeting. The meeting elected new office bearers for the year 2024 -25. The meeting concluded with the vote of thanks proposed by Mr. Dipankar Saha.
