Diglipur, Nov. 13: Mr. Sujan Das, Pradhan Gram Panchayat Laxmipur, Diglipur, along with villagers coming under the Panchayat mounted a massive dhana and chakka jam at School Tikrey, Laxmipur today.
As per report, the Pradan along with villagers and residents of the region held a massive dharna right on the road at School Tikrey and blocked the road since morning today to press for a plethora of their long pending demands.
Lashing out at the Revenue Department, Diglipur, a number of residents of Laxmipur and Milangram village who have been struggling to get their land demarcated, voiced complaints against the concerned officials/staff of the Dept. for the alleged delay in demarcation. The survey officials show much discrimination in conducting demarcation of land, the agitators further alleged.
The Revenue Department Diglipur doesn’t reportedly issue NOC and sketch map for construction of CC Road from Ajit Das house to Dhiren Mirta land at Milangram Ward No-2 under Gram Panchayat Laxmipur. As such, the CC Road can’t be constructed while the earth work was reportedly done in 1985.
The Pradhan said that SH-15 road from Diglipur Bazar to Basadeck maintained by the CD, APWD, Diglipur is in rundown condition; even stretches of SH-15 road which have been recently repaired have also developed several potholes and uneven surfaces, causing considerable commuting woes to the road users.
Mr. Das, who sounded displeased and aggressive, emphasized on the construction of the village road from SH-15 to Niranjan Adhikari house via Panchayat Bhawan and Electricity office Laxmipur. The earth cutting work of this proposed road had been done in the year 1985, and 560 mtrs road had already been constructed, but till date the rest part of the road hasn’t been constructed. He also demanded that tender is floated without further delay for the Footbridge near the house of Shri Nittyananda Kirtaniya at Milangram.
The households in Milangram and Laxmipur under Laxmipur Gram panchayat who were left from being extended with the water pipe connection should be provided with water tap connection without further delay, Mr. Sujan Das emphasized. When India boasts of its Digital India, residents of 11 family (Laxmipur ward no-1) and Vengru Tickrey (Milangram ward no-1) live without BSNL Network facility. The Pradhan hence urged the concerned Dept. to extend its network facilities to the people of these areas.
GP Laxmipur reportedly has no MTS for the last 04 months. The Panchayat hence is in dire need of MTS, the Pradhan said. There are 73 Nos. of PMAY(G) beneficiaries already finalized of which only 10 got the benefit and 63 eligible candidates are to get the benefit. The Pradhan demanded to arly sanction/extend the benefit to them. Early start of MGNREGA work at Laxmipur and Misangram under Gram Panchayat Laxmipur also found place in the Pradhan’s demand.
Taking great exception to the encroachment drive, Mr. Sujan Das said he received several complaints from villagers against the staff of the Forest Dept. and Revenue Dept. that the officials/staff inflict torture on the villagers in the name of eviction drive; it must be stopped, the Pradhan said. The fruit bearing trees should be spared while conducting an eviction drive, the Pradhan urged.
Raising his demands to the Electricity Department, the Pradhan requested the Dept. to provide 100 Nos of electric polls to the Gram Panchayat while electric poles existing in paddy land should be shifted to road side, he demanded. Facility of CT scan and Ultra Sound must be made available in CHC, Diglipur while land must be allotted to the dependent settler families, the Pradhan said.
During the protest, the road was blocked from 10:00 am to 01:00 pm and as a result the traffic was badly disrupted; however, medical patients were permitted. The agitators, leading a scathing attack on the Administration and the Lieutenant Governor said that the A & N Administration is reportedly incompetent and is functioning inefficiently reportedly in order to defame Modi Ji, they blamed.
Representatives from various Departments arrived at the dharna site and were seen to negotiate with protestors, and after the given assurances from the Officials of the concerned Depts., the Pradhan and the protestors dispersed from the site.
