Nov. 4 to 9, 2024 from 5.30 am to 4 pm (Day Firing). The general public especially the villagers of Bird Line and Prothrapur have been asked to keep themselves and their pets/ animals away from the firing range on the day of firing during the above mentioned date and time.

Health and Nutrition Camp by ‘With You’ NGO Promotes Child Welfare and Health Awareness in Andaman Islands
Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 07: A Poshan Kit distribution and health awareness camp was organised by ‘With You’ NGO in association with the Social Welfare Department at Wandoor Community Hall, Mr. Vijaya Puram, on November 6.
This initiative is aimed at addressing child malnutrition and promoting health awareness within the islands. The Chief Guest for the event was Dr. Chandini Lall, a distinguished personality from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, who is also the first woman pilot from the islands and currently serves with Air India. Dr. Lall was warmly welcomed and felicitated by With You, in recognition of her inspiring journey and dedication to supporting social causes.
In her address, Captain Chandini expressed her delight in being part of this noble cause, commending the NGO’s efforts in providing nutritional support to severely malnourished children so that they can emerge as healthy youths in the future.
She further assured her support and guidance for With You NGO’s future social initiatives.
Highlighting the project, Ms. V. K. Mariyam Bibi, President of With You NGO, explained that the Social Welfare Department has identified many severely malnourished children in the Islands and the NGO WITH YOU with the community support has come forward to provide nutritional food kits to 40 children.
Other dignitaries including Mrs. Irin, CDPO Ferrargunj, Mrs. Padmavathi, Pramukh, Panchayat samity Ferrargunj and Mr. Adhir Das, Pradhan GP Wandoor also addressed the gathering.
A medical team led by Dr. Sanam from G D Goenka Academy conducted examinations of the children and their mothers. Poshan Kits containing essential nutrients were distributed to the children, addressing their nutritional needs.
An interactive session with mothers was conducted, focusing on the importance of balanced, nutritious diets for children to combat malnutrition and improve health outcomes. To further enrich the awareness, students from G D Goenka Academy staged a skit on breast cancer awareness, emphasizing early detection and preventive care.

Three-Day Workshop Launched to Train Officials on eMARG App for PMGSY Projects
Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 07: To enhance the capacity and skill of officials and contractors involved in the PMGSY Projects, a 3-day workshop has commenced in the Conference Hall of Chief Engineer’s Office. The training includes field visit for on hand training in the use of eMARG App by the participants.
The training was inaugurated by Mr. Pradeep Agarwal, DSE, Joint DG (Ex-C)/ DP-I, NRIDA, New Delhi in the presence of Mr. T.K. Prijith Rekh, Chief Engineer, APWD, Mr. Shiv Singh Meena, Director (Rural Development) and other officials from NRIDA, C-DAC, NIC & MPRRDA.
The workshop aims to familiarize the Engineers of APWD, PRI & Contractors with the functionalities and benefits of the eMARG Pre/Post- 5- Year DLP Module. These sessions will provide detailed guidelines and hands on training to ensure effective utilization of the module.
In his inaugural address, Mr. Pradeep Agarwal, requested all the participants to understand the use of eMARG Application and utilize the same while on execution of the PMGSY Works in A&N Islands. He informed that the training is divided into various sessions, wherein experts from various subject will speak on topics such as eMARG for road maintenance under DLP, OMMAS- eMARG Working Modalities, Complete functioning of eMARG, Gram Sadak Survey App, Post DLP eMARG and integration of OMMAS & eMARG. This will improve the updation of progress of the works and its maintenance in the online portal of Ministry of Rural Development which in turn will be effective for smooth flow of fund to the executing agencies.
Earlier, welcoming the gathering, Mr. T.K. Prijith Rekh, briefed about the roads being maintained by various agencies in the Islands and the difficulties being faced due to shortage of fund for upkeep and maintenance of the road infrastructure created by various stakeholders. He requested the Officials of the Ministry of Rural Development to support the Administration to utilize the PMGSY funds for the upkeep of rural roads. He also emphasized on the importance of the training and requested all the participants for active participation and implementation at the site. Mr. Biju Varghese, Executive Engineer (Plg)-I proposed the vote of thanks.
