Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 01: In observance of Police Commemoration Day, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas and Police Flag Day 2024 from October 21st to 31st, 2024, Nicobar District Police organized various commemorative events across all police stations to foster community engagement, raise awareness, and honor the sacrifices of police personnel.
On October 31st, in observance of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas and the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a pledge ceremony was held across the district. Senior officer, incharges led the pledge, with officers and staff in their respective police stations and units, participating to reaffirm their commitment to national unity.
In a tribute to martyrs, police personnel from PS car Nicobar visited the family of Ex-Constable Francis, a martyr from IRBn and honoured his mother. Police personnel also donated blood at BJR Hospital, Car Nicobar, as a gesture of service to the community.
Educational initiatives included essay competitions at GSSS Vijaynagar organized by PS Campbell By and GMSS Kamorta organized by PS Nancowry on topics such as “Role of Police, Mera Bharat Mahan, and Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. Additionally, a painting competition was conducted at PS Car Nicobar for children from Kinuka Perkha and Malacca villages on similar themes.
Cleanliness drives were carried out by PS Car Nicobar, Nancowry, and Campbell Bay, promoting environmental responsibility within the community. A Walkathon was also organized for police personnel at PS Car Nicobar, PS Katchal, and Nancowry.
Through these events, Nicobar District Police has reinforced its commitment to public service, unity, and honoring the legacy of its personnel and nation.

Worthy DGP, ANI Distributes Sweet Boxes to Police Personnel Deployed in Law & Order Duties

During the distribution, the worthy DGP acknowledged the dedication and hard work of the police personnel, particularly in ensuring a safe and secure environment for the community during the unity day. This occasion is a time for celebration and gratitude about the commitment to provide a secure service to the citizens. These sweet boxes are a token of appreciation from the worthy DGP, ANI for their tireless efforts and exemplary services.

Diwali Celebration Brings Joy to Children of Government Middle School, Hanspuri, Mayabunder
Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 01: In a heartwarming initiative, Port Blair Guru Ki Rasoi (PBGKR), hosted a special Diwali celebration for the children of Government Middle School, Hanspuri, located on the remote Mayabunder island. This event, held on 30/10/24 aimed to spread joy and foster community spirit during the festive season.
Despite its isolation, the vibrant community of Hanspuri came together to celebrate the festival of lights. Port Blair Guru Ki Rasoi, known for its commitment to social causes, Celebrated Traditional Diwali with
children by distributing Sweets and New Clothes for each student of the school individually.
“We believe that every child deserves to experience the joy of festivals, regardless of their location,” said Mandeep Grewal , President & Founder of PBGKR. “This event not only brought smiles to their faces but also strengthened the bond within our community.”

SPARSH Outreach Programme for Defence and Civilian Pensioners to Be Held from Nov 1 to 30 at Buniyadabad
Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 01: Jt. Controller of Defence Accounts (Area Accounts Office) is organizing SPARSH Outreach Programme from Nov.1 to 30, 2024 from 9 am to 4 pm near Ayyappa Temple, Buniyadabad. This programme is designed to assist Defence Pensioners, Civilian Pensioners and Family Pensioners, whose Pension have been migrated to the new SPARSH Module.
Defence Pensioners, Civilian Pensioners and Family Pensioners are expected to attend the programme. Senior Officers will also be present in the programme to resolve discrepancies and other pension related issues based on SPARSH queries.
Controller of Defence Accounts, Ministry of Defence has implemented SPARSH (Pension Administration System – Defence), a comprehensive pension package offering a one stop solution for all Defence and Civilian Pensioners. SPARSH Outreach Programme is being organized at Area Accounts Office, Sri Vijaya Puram to help pensioners get familiar with SPARSH.
All Defence Pensioners, Civilian Pensioners and Family Pensioners have been requested to attend the programme where all the pension related problems will be resolved. The programme will be held at Jt. Controller of Defence Accounts, (Area Accounts Office) Near Ayappa Temple, Buniyadabad, Sri Vijaya Puram.
Special Prayer Session Organize on Indira Gandhi’s Death Anniversary
Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 01: Hope Town, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, October 31, 2024– Under the leadership of Mrs. Alka Lamba,National President of All India Mahila Congress,Ms. V.K. Mariyam Bibi, Coordinator of the Andaman & Nicobar State Mahila Congress, organized a special prayer session at the Anna Nagar Community Hall, Hope Town, to commemorate the death anniversary of the late Indira Gandhi, former Prime Minister of India. The event aimed to honor the legacy of a leader whose contributions to the nation remain unforgettable.
The session began with floral tributes at Indira Gandhi portrait, followed by prayers led by respected religious leaders from various faiths, symbolizing unity and harmony. The distinguished dharma gurus included Pandit Mr. Ashutosh Dubey, Maulana Mr. Muthavul Haque, and Father Sebastin, each of whom offered prayers and delivered heartfelt messages commemorating this solemn day.
Ms. Mariyam Bibi shared inspiring insights into Indira Gandhi’s life and achievements, underscoring her role as a visionary leader and her significant contributions to India’s progress. Awareness Program on Legal Adoption at Buniyadabad Community Hall
Sri Vijaya Puram, Nov 01: State Adoption Resource Agency (SARA) under Directorate of Social Welfare organized an adoption awareness program on 26.10.2024 at Community Hall, Buniyadabad with Anganwadi workers and General public.
Mrs. B. Mohini, Anganwadi Worker welcomed all the gathering.
Mrs. T. Dharmila, Programme Officer of State Adoption Resource Agency (SARA) discussed the legal procedures and requirements associated with adoption, ensuring potential adoptive parents to understand the legal framework involved. She also focused on encouraging older children in adoption.
Mr. G. Koteshwar Rao, Programme Manager of State Adoption Resource Agency (SARA) addressed on Legal Adoptions providing accurate information which helps dispel misconceptions and encourages a more positive outlook on adoption and also informed about the newly recognized Specialized Adoption Agencies in the A & N Islands. He explained the roles and responsibilities of Adoption Agencies, including how they facilitate the matching process and provide guidance throughout the adoption journey.
Mrs. Suprova, Mukiya Sevika discussed Adoption issues which are being faced by the general public. Anganwadi workers and the general public of the surrounding community sought clarification on adoption, which the team of SARA clarified and gave proper guidance.
The Anganwadi workers and general public were suggested to encourage such parents in their community who were in need to adopt children to send them to the Directorate of Social Welfare, Room No. 308.
