Port Blair, Sept. 11:The Kisan Credit Card (KCC) Campaign for 2024-25 is designed to provide short-term credit to support the rearing of animals and birds. The eligibility criteria for availing KCC include farmers, both individual and joint borrowers involved in animal husbandry. Poultry and dairy farmers are eligible and must own, rent, or lease sheds for housing the animals.
Farmers should reach out to their nearest Senior Veterinary Officer to process their application. The documents required include Proof of Identity -Voter Card, Aadhaar Card/Pan Card/Driving License etc; Proof of Residence- Recent Telephone Bill/Electricity Bill/Certificate issued by Local Panchayat/Municipality; 3 nos. of Milch animal and undertaking by farmers that the animal will not dispose off and detail of space/shed available for keeping the animals whether owned or rented/leased.
For more details or assistance, farmers have been requested to visit their nearest Veterinary Hospital/Dispensaries.

Port Blair, Sep 11: The last date for Fresh Admission for July 2024 cycle for all Programmes in online/ODL mode (except for Semester based and Certificate programmes) extends by IGNOU till20thSeptember 2024. The last date of July, 2024 Re-registration has also been approved (except for semester based programs) till 20thSeptember 2024, with late fee of Rs. 200-/ for all programmes offered in ODL/Online mode. For online Admission students are advised to log on to https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in/ and for Re-registration log on to https://onlinerr.ignou.ac.in/ . The prospective applicants who are facing difficulty to submit their admission and Registration form through online mode can contact to Regional Centre office. The whole admission and re registration process is online. For admission, students need to upload academic documents (max 200kb), photo (max 100 kb), signature (100 kb) to apply for desired courses. Port Blair, Sept. 11: The Block Project Office, Wimberlygunj organized a Medical Assessment Camp for Children with Special Needs (CwSN) students at GSSS Wimberlygunj on Sept. 6, 2024. Dr. Manoharan, Deputy Education Officer of Wimberlygunj who was the chief guest spoke on the significance of Medical Assessment Camp for Children with Special Needs.
The chief guest along with the medical team distributed Aid and Appliances to the CwSN students. The entire programme was conducted with the support of State Project Office, Samagra Shiksha.
The special guests were Shri V Raju, Assistant Project Officer, Shri Sakthi Kumar, Special Educator, Samagra Shiksha. Shri Santosh Mondal, Special Educator was the external observer while Shri Srinivas Rao (PST) was an internal observer. Shri Sudeep Kumar Jena (Prosthestist & Orthotist and Shri Alok Kumar Sahu (Audiologist) from Kolkata, ALIMCO, Dr. Geeta, Senior Resident, Paediatrics, PHC Wimberlygunj were present during the camp. During the camp, hearing aids were distributed to 3 beneficiaries, wheel chair to 2 beneficiaries, CP wheel chair to 1 beneficiary and ankle-foot orthoses shoes to 7 beneficiaries.
Earlier, the Programme Coordinator, Ms Sangeeta Kumari, Special Educator welcomed the gathering. The medical team also assessed the CwSN and suspected children. A good number of CwSNs, along with parents under DEO, Wimberlygunj Zone, and BRP (CwSN), SET, PSRTs, and BRPs participated in this programme.

Port Blair, Sept. 11:Small Arms Range practice of IRBn personnel is scheduled to be carried out at PTS, Firing Range, Bird Line, Prothrapur on Sept.13, 17, 20 & 27, 2024 from 0500 hrs to 1500 hrs. The general public, especially the villagers/residents of Bird Line and Prothrapur area have been asked to keep themselves and their livestock away from the firing range during the mentioned date and time.

Swaraj Dweep, Sept. 11:The Office of the Assistant Commissioner, Swaraj Dweep organized a two day GST Awareness-cum-Registration Workshop on Sept. 9 & 10, 2024 at Swaraj Dweep for the Companies of Water Sports Activities. The awareness program was conducted by Shri Anupam Neeraj and Shri Santosh Kumar, Superintendent GST from UTGST Andaman and Nicobar Islands and was addressed by Shri Vikram Singh, Assistant Commissioner, Swaraj Dweep. IP&T in-charge, Shri Shiva, coordinated with the Water Sports Activities Companies.
The program was attended by nearly 80 service providers i.e. Scuba Dive Operators, Kayaking, Sea Walk, Para Sailing, FRP Boat Operators and Fun Ride Operators. The audience responded positively and it is expected that within a span of 10 to 15 days, there will be better GST compliance and collection from Swaraj Dweep. Apart from this, a GST registration workshop was also organized on Sept.10, 2024, in which, 6 Operators registered their firms. The program was arranged by IP&T officials posted at Swaraj Dweep.

Port Blair, Sept. 11: One Stop Centre under the Directorate of Social Welfare organized an online awareness session on three new criminal laws namely, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita replaces the Indian Penal Code, the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita replaces the Criminal Procedure Code of 1973 and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam replaces the Indian Evidence Act.
Dr. Nitin Shakya, Director (SW), emphasized the importance of the session in his address, these new laws are designed to better align with the current needs, ensuring a more efficient and fair criminal justice system. Smti M. Janagi Savuriyammal, Case Worker, One Stop Centre briefed about the objectives of One Stop Centre, which provides integrated support and assistance to women affected by violence during distress in private and public spaces.
The resource person, Smti Nandini, Sub-Inspector, PS Aberdeen elaborated on the three new Criminal Laws and the key changes in the laws. Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita replaces the Indian Penal Code which retains the provisions of the IPC, reduces the number of sections from 511 to 358, increases penalties for several offences, and introduces many new offences, including hate crimes, mob lynching, terrorism, organized crime and hate speech and redefines sedition as Acts.
She further briefed about the sections that deal with offences against women and children which includes misbehave by husband upon his wife during separation, assault or use of criminal force to women with intent to outrage her modesty, cohabitation caused by man deceitfully inducing belief of lawful marriage.
In addition, she briefed about the Domestic Violence Act, 2005 and several orders in the Domestic Violence Act such as Restriction Order, Protection Order, Residential Order, and Maintenance Order. The program was attended by good number of general public and Homemakers.

Car Nicobar, Sept. 11: Kharif Campaign was launched at Mus village in Car Nicobar by the Department of Agriculture in association with UTATMA yesterday. The campaign, a month long programme will be conducted in all the 15 villages. This campaign is conducted every year to create awareness among the farmers about the various ongoing Schemes of the Agriculture and allied Departments.
Smt. R. Bhu Bharthy, Agriculture Officer welcomed the gathering and briefed about the importance of the campaign and also explained about seed treatment, PM-AASHA Scheme, PM-Kisan, Soil Health Card Scheme etc. She urged the copra producing farmers to register under e-Samriddhi portal to avail benefit of MSP under PM-AASHA scheme.
Smti D.Laxmi, Agriculture Assistant explained about Jal Shakti Abhiyaan, Organic Farming and Natural Farming including preparation and use of Jeevamrit, Neemastra etc.
Officials of allied Departments viz Forest, Industries and Fisheries participated and explained in detail about their Departmental ongoing schemes and urged the farmers to reap the maximum benefit. The Village Secretary of Mus village also urged the farmers to come forward and avail the benefits of various Departmental schemes.
Neemastra and Jeevamrit were distributed to the farmers to motivate them to adopt such practices. Planting was done near community Hall, Mus village to achieve the global campaign ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Plant4Mother. Altogether 30 farmers attended the programme.
