Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 20: SAI, A&N Islands in collaboration with SAI National Centre of Excellence (NCOE), Thiruvananthapuram has decided to train the cyclists of Isles in Velodrome of SAI Thiruvananthapuram till the upcoming National Cycling Championships to be held in Chennai this year. SAI cycling coaches stated that Nicobar is brimming with talented cyclists and providing them training in Velodrome shall certainly lead to podium finish. For rowing, SAI A&N Islands has associated with SAI National Centre of Excellence (NCOE), Jagatpur, Odisha to train the selected athletes for upcoming National rowing Championship to be held at Gorakhpur, UP.
To wish them good luck for their upcoming championships, Shri Sandeep Behera, IFS, DCF (Wildlife) and Ms. Shweta K. Sugathan, IPS, SP (ACU) were present at SAI, Netaji Stadium as chief guest and guest of honour. Shri Vinayak Chamadia, IAS, SDM, South Andaman also graced the occasion as special guest.
Speaking on the occasion, the dignitaries appreciated the islanders’ passion for sports and motivated young sportspersons to win laurels for the A&N Islands.

Samajik Chetana Kendra Inaugurated at GSSS Diglipur Under ULLAS (NILP) Programme

Diglipur, Sept. 20: CRC GSSS Diglipur inaugurated Samajik Chetana Kendra under ULLAS (NILP) by cutting the ribbon and lightening the lamp by Shri P R Sigaram, Pradhan Gram Panchayat Subhashgram along with Smti Sulochana, DEO Diglipur, Shirt. A. Elancheshian, Up-pradhan, Gram Panchayat Subhashgram, Shri. Ashutosh Dey, PGT Teacher In-charge 0555 Diglipur and other PRI members today. Programme coordinator Shri Subhendu Halder, PGT (Master Trainer, NILP) welcomed the guests and addressed the gathering on the ULLAS/NILP programme. He explained the role of Samajik Chetana Kendra and the mode in which classes can be conducted for learners. All the surveyors under CRC GSSS Diglipur and Teachers of GSSS Diglipur participated in the inaugural programme. Speaking on the occasion, Smti Sulochana DEO Diglipur stressed the roles and importance of the ULLAS/NILP programme and said how Samajik Chetana Kendra can be helpful to all the learners. She also advised the surveyors to motivate the learners for better utilization of Samajik Chetana Kendra. 2nd Round of counseling for admission to various PG Courses at JNRM (Academic Year 2024-25)
Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 20: 2nd Round of counseling shall be held on 23rd September, 2024 (Monday) for admission to fill up some vacant seats of Post-graduate (PG) courses in JNRM.
Hence, the candidates interested to take admission to these courses are advised to attend the counseling in the respective inter-disciplinary departments, JNRM, Port Blair.
Those who fail to attend the counseling on specified date and time will not be considered for admission to the respective course and the next eligible candidate from the merit list will be considered for admission, and the admission will be closed on the same day.
Candidates who have applied for admission to these courses are asked to be present by 9.00 AM on the respective date.
Admission to the Two-Year B.Ed. Degree Programme for the session 2024-25

Hindi Noting and Drafting Competition Held as Part of Hindi Fortnight-2024 Celebrations
Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 20: As part of Hindi Fortnight-2024 celebration, a Hindi Noting and Drafting Competition was organized today at Tagore Government College of Education, Sri Vijaya Puram for the employees of the Administration and member offices of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee. A large number of employees from various Departments/Offices participated in this competition.
In this sequence, on 23.09.2024 at 10 am, a Hindi Note Writing Competition will be organized for the Gazetted Officers of various Departments/Offices of the Andaman and Nicobar Administration in the Hindi Training Centre of the Department of Official Language, Andaman and Nicobar Administration.

CRC A&N Islands and Clinical Research Unit for Homeopathy, Port Blair Jointly Conduct Swachhta Hi Seva 2024 Launching and Awareness Programme on Rashtriya Poshan Maah
Sri Vijaya Puram, Sept 20: The Composite Regional Centre (CRC) for Skill Development, Rehabilitation & Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Clinical Research Unit of Homeopathy, Port Blair, successfully launched the Swachhta Hi Seva initiative and conducted an awareness programme on Rashtriya Poshan Maah for the parents of children with special needs and community workers on 20th September 2024. This joint effort is part of the nationwide movement to promote cleanliness, sanitation, and nutrition, with a specialfocus on empowering the Divyangjan (Persons with Disabilities) community.
The event commenced with the awareness programme for Rashtriya Poshan Maah focused on the significance of nutrition in maintaining good health, with special attention given to the dietary needs of persons with disabilities by Dr. Tanmoy Halder, Junior Research Fellow the Clinical Research Unit for Homeopathy provided valuable insights into combining proper nutrition with homeopathic remedies to improve overall health outcomes for the population.
In parallel the Swachhta Hi Seva campaign was officially launched by Dr. Nargis Anwar Senior Research Fellow, Clinical Research Unit for Homeopathy, Port Blair emphasizing the importance of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation in daily life, particularly for the Divyangjan community. The initiative supports the Government of India’s broader mission to promote sustainable development through a clean and healthy environment. Followed by Mr. T.Y.Abid, Lec. Physiotherapy, CRC A&N Islands Taken the pledge on Swachhata Hi Seva in which all the participants were joined.
After the pledge taken ,an inspiring planting of saplings ceremony by the Guests and participants and the clients of CRC A&N, symbolizing a commitment to environmental sustainability and a cleaner, greener future. The saplings were planted by Dr.Shanthi Adhikari, Officer Incharge, and Dr.Fareen, Senior Research Fellow, Senior Officer from the Clinical Research Unit for Homeopathy, Port Blair, along with Faculties of CRC A&N and students from School of Nursing, DHS. This gesture reinforced the connection between cleanliness, health, and environmental conservation. The participants, including local health workers, community members, and Divyangjan beneficiaries, actively engaged in various activities and discussions.
In the concluding address Mrs. Saranyah, Rehabilitation Officer CRC A&N Islands, expressed gratitude to the Clinical Research Unit of Homeopathy and emphasized the importance of continued joint efforts to promote the health and well-being of persons with disabilities across the region.
