Apte in the Hindi Sahitya Kala Parishad, in which 22 volunteers representing different communities and regions participated. Unanimously Late Mr. Linga Velu was given the responsibility of President and Mr. Hari Narayan Arora was given the responsibility of Secretary of the Parishad. Since this time the Parishad has worked continuously for the upliftment and protection of Hindu society and promoted national interest in these islands.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad is a social and cultural organization dedicated to organizing Hindus living in India and abroad and strengthening their religious and cultural identity. This institution was established under the blessings of Hindu religious leaders, and saints and under the guidance of world-famous philosophers and thinkers. After achieving independence, the Hindu society felt that it should fulfill its basic responsibility of world welfare by establishing India as a Hindu nation. Keeping this objective in mind, under the chairmanship of revered Swami Chinmayanand , the founder of Chinmaya Mission, the second Sarsanghchalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Madhav Sadashivrao Golwalkar (Guruji), S. S. Apte, Master Tara Singh, Siromani Akali Dal President Giani Bhupendra Singh, the then General Secretary of Hindu Mahasabha V.G. More along with 40 saints and revered thinkers including Deshpande the concept of Parishad was formulated.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad was established in Sandipani Sadhanalaya, Mumbai on the Ashtami Tithi of Krishna Paksha of Bhadrapada month of Vikram Samvat 2021, i.e. on the birthday of Lord Yogeshwar Mr. Krishna in 1964. With the motto of “Dharmo Rakshati Rakshitah”, the main objective of the Parishad is to organize and empower the Hindu society through service, values, and protection. The Parishad has been playing a unique role in various fields like Vishwa Hindu Conference, reconstruction of temples, cow protection and promotion, cultural education, Hindu awakening, social harmony to stop religious conversion, Hindu sense of unity, the teaching of Yoga and Vedas, pilgrimage and religious pilgrimages, etc.
The Parishad led the Mr. Ram Janmabhoomi movement and under the Dharma Prasar Yojana, the Parishad is determined to bring millions of Hindus that diverted their way back to Hinduism as well as remove the evils prevalent in the society. Andaman Nicobar Islands being a centrally administered territory and despite adverse circumstances, Vishwa Hindu Parishad has been raising its voice from these islands against the attacks on Hindu society across the country. Even the Ram Mandir movement was raised from the land of Andamans. In 1989, the Parishad organized extensive Ram Janaki Rath Yatra, Ram Shila Pujan, Ram Mandir Sankalp Sutra Abhiyan in these islands and organized various events from the islands including the Ram devotees reaching Ayodhya, performing kar seva and contributing to the Ram temple movement.
Through Sanskar Kendra, Satsang, Bajrang Dal Shaurya Training Camp, Durga Vahini Varg, and Milan Centres, the Parishad is continuously making efforts for promoting nationalism in the archipelago. As a result of this continuous practice, today Vishwa Hindu Parishad is providing service in some form or the other in most parts of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
During the tsunami of 2004 and the COVID-19 pandemic in 2019, the Parishad pro-actively supported the needy, distributed food items, donated blood, supplied medicines, and assisted in the last rites of the dead. In the Pran Pratishtha program of Mr. Ram Mandir, Ayodhya more than 450 temples placed Kalash and more than 80,000 Akshat package was prepared and distributed throughout the archipelago. During this period, more than one lakh saffron flags were distributed, which were hoisted in most of the Hindu homes with due enthusiasm and proudness.
Dr. Sachinder Nath Sinha addressed the gathering highlighting the completion of 60th year of Vishwa Hindu Parishad with its glorious achievement, and the determination of the Parishad to strive in the upcoming years to prevent serious issues like cow slaughter, religious conversion, and love jihad across the country and will continue to play its role in achieving its goals of social harmony, family enlightenment, and expansion of values.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Rajesh Ram , Secretary, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (Andaman and Nicobar Dweep Samuh).
