Port Blair, Jan 28: On the occasion of Republic Day, Shri Dilkhush Meena, IAS Secretary PBMC and Smti S. Selvi, Chairperson PBMC, inaugurated a Quick Response Team vehicle at the PBMC HQ premises. The event, attended by JVC, Councilors and officials, followed the morning unfurling of the National Flag at the PBMC HQ. The newly introduced vehicle is designed to provide citizens with smooth access to vital information about the Council.
Positioned at the Control Room within the PBMC HQ, the vehicle is equipped to address emergency situations pertaining to water, sanitation and municipal operations in the area. The recently introduced, purpose-built vehicle stands as a symbol of progress, designed to offer citizens smooth access to crucial information about the Council.
This includes comprehensive details on sanitation initiatives, municipal websites, contact information for the control room and more. The primary objective of the QRT is to swiftly address citizens’ concerns and disseminate information firsthand. Additionally, the team will ensure that complaints received from the general public in the control room are attended to promptly, facilitating the resolution of problems for the community. Furthermore, the QRT will enforce fines for violations of the provisions of Solid Waste Management (SWM) rules.
The Quick Response Team vehicle symbolizes the Council’s firm commitment to ensuring the well-being and convenience of the residents, further reinforcing its role as a pillar of support and service in the area. It signifies a significant stride in enhancing the Council’s responsiveness and accessibility for the community it serves.
