Port Blair, Jan 25: National Girl Child Day, an initiative of the ministry of women and child development, is celebrated every year on January 24th to spread awareness about the challenges that girls face. “Girls are the architects of change, and their dreams have the power to transform societies”. So in order to support and uplift every girl’s aspirations, Pankh organised a session that was held for the inmates of Bethany Home, Garacharma and a sketching competition to depict their dreams on paper for the girls at RGT Public School, RGT Road. The session by Mrs. Komal Anand, mainly focused on to make them aware about the importance of mental and physical health that impacts on their growth in life.
Fitness lessons also given to the girls regarding the changes that occur in them during the adolescence age. Basic knowledge on how health plays a vital role in their life and it is important to balance all these factors that directly influence their lifestyle. And on the other hand, the girls of RGT road, public school shared their dreams and what would they pursue to become in future.
Girls shared views on inspiring roles of women in society and what changes could be brought in and around us to empower women around them. This was followed by distribution of prizes. These programmes were held in the presence of founder president Komal Anand Pankh Andaman , Incharge Bethany home, Principal RGT public school, other teachers and members of Pankh Andaman.
