Port Blair, Jan 19: This is for the information of the passengers that due to technical reasons the sailing programme of MV NALANDA to Little Andaman on 24.01.2024 at 0700 Hrs from Port Blair and her return voyage on the same the day at 2100 Hrs from Little Andaman to Port Blair has been cancelled.
Passengers those who are holding the tickets of MV NALANDA for the above sailings are advised to cancel their tickets and get a full refund. Inconvenience caused to the passengers is regretted.

Additional Ferries on 23rd & 24th Jan for Rangat via Long Island
Port Blair, Jan 19: This is for the information of the passenger/general public that keeping in view heavy rush of passenger traffic in the foreshore sector especially for Rangat & Long Island, the Directorate of Shipping Services will be providing additional ferries on 23rd & 24th January, 2024. The schedules are as under.
PORT BLAIR TO RANGAT VIA LONG ISLAND & BACK:
Passenger tickets for the above sailing schedules will be issued to the general public from 20.01.2024 (Saturday) onwards.
Passengers may book their tickets from DSS e-ticketing portal (https://dss.andaman.gov.in/eticketing) on all days from 09.00 AM to 04.00 PM and from STARS Ticketing Counter in all working days from 9.00 AM to 04.00 PM, except on Saturday from 09.00 AM to 12.00 PM.
Cancellation of Sailing of MV Campbell Bay to Campbell, Via Nancowry on 23.01.2024: The Vessel Nalanda to Sail in Place of MV Campbell Bay
Port Blair, Jan 19: This is for the information of the passengers that due to technical reasons the sailing programme of MV Campbell Bay to Campbell Bay via Nancowry on 23.01.2024 at 0900 Hrs from Port Blair and her return voyage on 25.01.2024 at 0800 Hrs from Campbell Bay via Nancowry has been cancelled. Passengers who are holding the tickets of MV Campbell Bay for the above sailings are advised to cancel their tickets and get full refund.
However, to facilitate the commuters of Campbell Bay this Directorate has scheduled the vessel Nalanda to sail for Campbell Bay via Nancowry on 23.01.2024 at 0900 Hrs from Haddo Wharf and will sail back to Port Blair on 25.01.2024 at 0800 Hrs from Campbell Bay via Nancowry. Passengers are advised to purchase a fresh ticket to Nalanda from 20.01.2024 onwards. During the issue of passenger tickets priority will be given to those passenger who are holding the tickets for MV Campbell Bay.
Passengers may book their tickets for onward journey at STARS Ticketing Counters, Phoenix Bay and for return journey at STARS Counter, Campbell Bay/Nancowry on 20.01.2024 (Saturday) between 0900 Hrs to 1200 Hrs. Similarly left out tickets if any available will be issued through DSS e-ticketing portal (https://dss.andaman.gov.in/eticketing) on 20.01.2024 from 1300 Hrs onwards. Inconvenience caused to the passengers is regretted.
Andaman & Nicobar Police Hosts “Bada Khana” to Celebrate Raising Day
Port Blair, Jan 19: The Andaman & Nicobar Police, in celebration of its Raising Day, organized a grand “Bada Khana” at the Police Line on 19.012024. “Bada Khana” provides a platform for all ranks of officers from constable to the DGP to enjoy a meal together, fostering camaraderie and celebrating achievements or important occasions. The event witnessed the presence of the Director General of Police and other senior officers, who interacted with all the ranks & files of the Andaman & Nicobar Police.
The occasion featured a delightful dinner and cultural event, where the Police Entertainment Team (PET) and other staff members actively participated. The Police Brass Band and Pipe Band also performed and played melodious tunes to make the evening enchanting. This gathering provided a unique platform for bonhomie, fostering stronger bonds within the police force.
The “Bada Khana” served as an opportunity for the leadership to express appreciation for the hard work and dedication exhibited by the entire Andaman & Nicobar Police team on 24×7 basis, throughout the year.
Power interruption on 20.01.2024 due to repairing of underground power cable at Haddo
Port Blair, Jan 19: It is brought to the notice of general consumers and government departments that power supply will remain suspended in Haddo, Haddo Wharf, Foreshore Road and upto Civil Aviation Delanipur, Buniyadabad, AIR, DDK Colony, part of Delanipur, part of Prem Nagar, Coast Guard Enclave, Coast Guard HQ, Coast Guard Jetty, Panipath Road & Fortress Head Quarter areas on 20.01.2024 (Saturday) from 0900 hrs. to 1400 hrs. in connection with the rectification of 33 KV Zebra Tie Line underground power cable at Haddo in front of the electricity site office.
The mentioned work will be carried out subject to weather conditions. The above-mentioned schedule is tentative; if the work is completed before the schedule line will be charged accordingly. The inconvenience caused is regretted.
