Port Blair, Dec 29: In a timely intervention by the Andaman and Nicobar Fire Service, a potentially catastrophic fire was swiftly brought under control in an old, dilapidated wooden building situated behind Delanipur Petrol Pump. The incident occurred around 7:45 PM, with large flames drawing public attention and raising concerns about the possible spread to nearby structures.
The fire, which completely gutted the wooden structure, was met with a prompt response from the fire service. Six fire tenders rushed to the scene, with two or three successfully completing the task, averting a major disaster. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries or loss of life, and property loss was prevented.
The wooden building, owned by Smti Chandrawati of Delanipur, was the center of attention as firefighters and fire mitras worked diligently to extinguish the flames. The coordinated efforts of the fire service and quick action played a crucial role in ensuring the safety of the surrounding area. The reasons of the fire is still not known.
