Port Blair, July 16: Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) today cried foul over non-declaration of the written test results of Group-C post, conducted in 2012. In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary of A & N Administration the City President, Mr. S. Balaji mentioned that the results of the Group- C Examination conducted in February 2012 are yet to come out.
“More than 10,000 candidates had appeared from all over the islands against about 250 vacancies facing many odds and financial hiccups. The seats allotted to them was in a haphazard manner and in innumerous cases, the candidate of one Island had to travel to another Island to write the exam. They were never given any TA or DA and as such they had to bear their own expenditure. In many cases they had to beg and borrow. All they did with a hope of an employment and job,” Mr. Balaji said in his letter.
The BJYM president further said that if those 250 vacancies are filled and posted, it will not only create employment opportunity and family support for hundreds but also help the Administration to deliver better results with the increased Human Resource. Pending CST Files with AC (HQ): DMK writes to LG
Port Blair, July 16: Raising the issue of pending CST files with the Assistant Commissioner (HQ), the DMK today urged the Lt. Governor to issue directions to concerned officials to clear the backlog.
In a letter addressed to the Lt. Governor, Mr. A. R. Marudhavanan, the State Organiser of DMK today mentioned that for the last 5 to 6 months around 40 to 50 cases of CST is lying unattended with Assistant Commissioner (HQ). Sir, the upcoming businessmen of these Islands has invested a lot and are surviving the cut throat competition in the local market.
“If the Administration cannot provide employment, they should at least encourage local business which could grow up to provide employment at a later stage. But by keeping the CST files pending with it for 5 to 6 months the Administration is not helping the local business in any way. Most of the local businessmen are Traders and if they have CST registration, they are liable to be charged 2% Tax and if not 12.5%.Due to Non availability of CST registration even the Mainland suppliers are reluctant to supply products .Most of the local dealers have been paying fine to their Mainland suppliers due to Non availability of CST numbers,” Mr. Marudhavanan said in his letter.

Andaman Sheekha Exclusive :::: High alert in Coastal Areas after IB sounded caution
Staff Correspondent
Port Blair, June 27: The Andaman and Nicobar Police today deployed armed policemen all along the coastal belt of A & N Islands while helicopters and aircrafts of Andaman and Nicobar Command made frequent sorties along the coastal belt today, after a caution was reportedly sounded by the Intelligence Bureau (IB) this morning of a possible coastal intrusion threat in Andamans. Andaman Sheekha is not disclosing the name of the ‘Organisation’ which according to IB’s alert could carry out such intrusion attempt.
Evening walkers told Andaman Sheekha that Indian Navy’s Chetak Helicopter on surveillance sortie flew very low along the coastal belt from Corbyn’s Cove to Marine area at around 4.40 pm.
Highly placed sources told Andaman Sheekha that even in remote Islands defence forces and police personnel were kept in high alert.
However, Senior Police Officers rubbished this angle saying that there is no such report of any kind of threat. “It could be regular security operation of Command,” the senior officer added. But Andaman Sheekha sources have confirmed that this was not just a drill. In such situations the Administration must share information with public so that public could also take part in surveillance by remaining alert in coastal areas. However today’s preparedness shown by Police and ANC was exemplary.

SPTEEA cries foul over MP’s press release
Port Blair, Jun 24: The members of State Part Time Education Employees Association (SPTEEA) were “surprised to read the Press release issued by Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, Member of Parliament, terming their genuine statement and concerns as allegations and that too after maintaining a studied silence ever since the issue of their Press release and the Dharna against him.” Said a press release from the State Part Time Education Employees Association.
SPTEEA were also surprised to note that the MP has chosen to blame the Lt Governor, Director of Education and Congress Party for misguiding them. SPTEEA made it very clear that nobody can misguide them as they are qualified and intelligent enough to understand the meaning of the MP’s letter No. 3O/BPR/MP/ANI/ LG/2012/724 dated 2nd September, 2012 to the Lt Governor, copy enclosed, wherein he has clearly written, ” Therefore, I am to request that any attempt to disrupt the smooth functioning of the prestigious ICDS in the UT with the introduction of Pre-Primary session in the Govt. Primary schools in UT may be discouraged.” Shockingly enough, in a glaring instance of his duplicity, the MP had written the letter after taking up their case for reappointment in the Education Department.
In fact, when they were retrenched on 12th April, 2012, the members of SPTEEA went to the Member of Parliament with a hope to get their grievances resolved and for our re-appointment.
