Unauthorized Parking on Dilanipur to All India Radio Road gives hiccups to traffic
Staff Correspondent
Port Blair, Oct 30: The road stretching from Dilanipur Junction to All India Radio has become a source of significant distress for motorists due to unauthorized and irresponsible parking. The situation is exacerbated by the narrow nature of the road, which is further constricted by vehicles parked on both sides.
With the opening of numerous shops and establishments in the area, the number of parked vehicles has surged, leaving only a slim passage for moving traffic. The road’s challenges are intensified by its role as a thoroughfare to the Defense headquarters and Coast Guard region, where heavy trucks and buses frequently traverse, complicating the situation even more.
There is an immediate call for action to either widen the road or, at the very least, implement effective parking management in the city. Such measures are crucial to ease the difficulties faced by commuters and enhance the overall traffic flow in the area.
