Pathetic roads of Diglipur remain unrepaired while resurfacing work for already good roads to begin
DJ Venkatesh
Diglipur, Nov 25: It is not a hidden fact that many roads of Diglipur region are in horrible shape but the administration is now resurfacing the roads which are already in good shape instead of repairing bad roads.
The road leading to Naveen Nagar square to water tank area of about 600 metres is already in good shape compared to other stretches of roads in surrounding areas.
Now again the Administration has planned to improve the same road and the road improvement work will reportedly begin within a week, for which all materials have already been dumped in nearby areas. Naturally lakhs of rupees will be spent on this road improvement works while the connecting roads nearby have not been repaired since years.
The other connecting road from Hotel Disney to Water tank is also not fit for use these days.
“The reason behind this negligence is said to be lack of coordination between the departments, while the road, which will get resurfacing again belongs to APWD, the nearby connecting roads belong to Panchayati Raj Institutes,” said a source in APWD.
Whatever might be reasons, general public fails to understand why some roads get unwanted repair while other roads are in horrible shape.
