Mayabunder, Jan 08: Even after 24 hours, the District Administration of North and Middle Andaman has made virtually no effort to understand or solve the ‘supernatural power’ incident of Mayabunder with logic.

Villagers of Mayabunder had yesterday reported that altogether five people fell ill while digging soil at Danapur Village of Mayabunder Island on Monday morning because of ‘suspected’ supernatural powers.

According to information received here the incident occurred when nearly 40 to 50 people in four groups reached a vacant land of Danapur Village yesterday morning to execute MGNREGA works. The Danapur Village falls under Ram Pur Panchayat.

The villagers had also reported about a strange lady who was dragging two other ladies with so power that dozens of men were found it difficult to rescue those trapped ladies.

Experts have however, rubbished this story saying that probably the labourers have hit some gas pockets, which made them sick but regarding strange lady everybody is clueless.

“This is hard to believe what we have seen. How could a woman get so much energy and power to drag two other ladies by hair? We still can’t believe this,” said Mrs. Sultana Begum, supervisor of the MGNREGA work. Mrs. Sultana Begum was present on the spot and seen the entire incident herself.

“I know nobody will believe this story but this is true,” said Ms Naga Lakshmi, Gram Sevika or MGNREGA.

Police officials, who had visited the spot, are tight lipped.

“We can’t explain what we have seen. This is hard to believe and hence we will not comment. Even one of our lady staffs was scared badly. Scientifically this has no logic but still all eyewitnesses claim that they have seen this,” said a police officer who does not want his name to be quoted.

Meanwhile, sources said that a secret puja was carried by MGNREA workers at the said site this morning to ‘please evil souls’.

Andaman Sheekha has no intention of spreading rumours. As a responsible media organization Andaman Sheekha reporting facts from ground for the information of general public with all possible quotes of witnesses and government officials.

Rumours are spreading in this case like wildfire and this is now the duty of Administration to conduct an inquiry or investigation and bring out the truth infront of General Public.

“There has to be some scientific reasons behind this entire story. Things often appear bloodcurdling for various reasons, which villagers mistake as supernatural power,” said a Lecturer of Mahatma Gandhi Government College.

Port Blair, Jan 06: In a shocking development a Coast Guard Officer today pointed INSAS rifle on the forehead of a Police Officer at Arial Bay Jetty of Diglipur Island.

The matter took place this morning when a Police team reached the Jetty for completing a handing and taking over procedure of 96 Bangladeshi illegal migrants, who were caught by Coast Guest on Saturday night.

According to eye witnesses, Mr. Raja Nagendran, a Coast Guard Officer, who was the incharge of Coast Guard Vessel, C-145 started abusing two police Officers, who saluted the officer, without uniform.

Eye witnesses confirmed that the officer had used highly objectionable and abusive words for the police officers infront of everybody.

When S.I. Mr. Nasir objected to such abusive words, the Coast Guard Officer pointed INSAS on his forehead.

Due to this rift both the Police Officers Mr. R P Yadav and S.I Mr.Nasir left the Jetty without completing the handing and taking over procedure. The matter was immediately reported to higher authorities in Port Blair by both the Police Officers. However, the procedure was later completed by this evening.

This is not the first such incident, nearly one month back after an accident infront of INS Utkrosh Gate, a Naval Officer had allegedly threaten Public by saying that 1KM long road on the both side of INS Utkrosh, belongs to ANC and if they want they can shoot anyone in that area.
Such behaviour only shows that CINCAN has lost all control over his men, for which general public are suffering heavily.

On one had hundreds of boat people are reaching Andaman coast almost everyday, in rudderless dinghies, without being detected by Coast Guard, on the other hand the Coast Guard chief is busy in publishing photographs, clicked by him, in local newspaper. Moreover, all photographs published by the Coast Guard chief say clearly that those photos were clicked from some aircrafts, which are obviously defence aircrafts.

The CG Chief must clarify that instead of such heavy presence how boat people are reaching Andaman Coast by drifting? Why they are not detected by Coast Guard in most of the cases? A drifting boat can make hardly 2 knots in one hour. This means that if a boat can reach Andaman Coast by crossing 200 knots distance with 2 knot speed, then for nearly 100 hours (nearly four days) they remain undetected in sea by Coast Guard. With this one can understand that how much safe are we in A & N Islands.

The CINCAN must also review the entire matter immediately and publish a clarification, as pointing gun by ANC officers, shows that all is not well in Andaman Nicobar Command.

Billyground, Jan 03: Mr. Kalipada Sarkar, Tehsilder Mayabunder attained superannuation on 1st January 2013, after serving A & N Islands for more than 39 years.

Mr. Kalipada Srakar Joined the Revenue Department on 4th September 1974 as Patwari in Nimbutala under Rangat Tehsilder, after which he served in Kalighat, Billyground and Chouldary.

Thereafter he was promoted to Revenue Inspector and worked at Port Blair HQ in 1990 till 2000 and then he served Baratang and Kadamtala. He was further promoted to Deputy Tehsilder and posted at Rangat Tehsil and he worked there as Deputy Tehsilder till June 2011. On 12 January 2012 he was promoted to Tehsilder and was posted at Mayabunder Tehsil, where he served till his superannuation.

Sine last one month he was looking after the Three Tehsil Offices, single handedly i.e. Mayabunder Tehsil, Rangat Tehsil and Diglipur Tehsil Office.

“I joined the department for serving people. Even after my retirement, I will continue to work for people,” Mr. Sarkar told Andaman Sheekha.

His father Late Biswanath Sarkar was a simple hard working farmer of Bakultala village of Middle Andaman. Mr. Sarkar will always be known for his down to earth, friendly and helpful nature by people of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
