Port Blair, Apr 8: Avinash Social and Cultural Society organized a Grand Musical Charity Show on 6th of April 2013 at Dr. B. R Ambedkar Auditorium. The chief guest on the occasion was Mr. Rakesh Bali, IAS, Secretary, PBMC and the Guest of Honour was Mr. Lucas Robert, Director, Art and Culture. The show was super hit with the auditorium fully crowded with the spectators. Fame Singer Mr. Avinash, Zee TV “Sa-Re-Ga-Ma-Pa” and Sony TV “Indian Idol” along with the most popular voices of the Islands performed in the show.
The show witnessed dignitaries and prominent citizens from around the town donating generously to the needy students. Altogether six students from Haddo Area were distributed with school uniforms and school kits.
Mr. Mangat Ram, (Retired Deputy Secretary, Revenue and Vigilance, Andaman and Nicobar Administration) presented the School uniform and kit to two students namely Master. Ramu (X), Govt. Senior Secondary School, Haddo, (Telegu Medium), Master. Siva (IX), Govt. Senior Secondary School, Haddo, (Telegu Medium).
Mr. Azizur Rehman, (Ward Councilor, Ward No- 6, PBMC) presented school uniforms and kits to two students namely Master. Prithivi Nageshwar Rao (IV), Govt Primary School, Haddo (Telegu Medium), Master A. Vallah Rao (V), Primary School, Haddo (Telegu Medium) Mrs. Sunita Chhbra, (Eastern Horizon Group of Hotels, Chairman, Alee Club, Vice- President, New Delhi.) also presented school uniform and kits to two students namely Master K. Mohan Rao- VII, Govt. Middle School, Haddo (Telegu Medium), Miss. G. Mohini- VII Govt. Middle School, Haddo ( Telegu Medium).
Altogether nine popular singers of these Islands performed in the show namely Avinash, Sajid Sulaiman, J.N Raja, Mohd. Nasir, D. Appa Rao, Aliya Sulaiman, Priya Darshini, Sneha Goswamy and Anakshi Nag. The performance of 10 years old Aliya Sulaiman, who sang the title song of ‘Tarey Zameen Par’ was also one of the main attractions of the show.
The program was a live orchestra programme and altogether six musicians and one sound engineer worked on the music. The musicians who performed in the show were Avinash on Synthesizer, Esu Babu on Synthesizer, Santosh Kumar Yadav on Octapad and Percussion, Nadeem on Bass Band Electric Guitar, Murugeshan on Congo and Mahendra Mallick on Dholak. A special Sound Engineer Mr. Sourabh Hore was hired from Kolkata for the show.
Further Mr. Krishna (Center Head, Aptech Computer Education, Port Blair) presented free one year diploma course in Computer (DISM) to one Miss. Tulasi Bai.
The programme was jointly hosted by Mrs. Tarannum Sulaiman and Mr. J.N Raja. The whole programme was organized by Mr. D. Appa Rao.
