IGNOU Organise Orientation Programmes In March
Port Blair, March 02: The Indira Gandhi National Open University, Regional Centre, Port Blair is organizing Orientation Programme (OP) for the Academic Counsellors of Diploma in Dairy Technology (3rd March), Masters of Commerce / PG Diploma in International Business Operations (5th March), Diploma in Event Management (18th March), Master of Tourism and Travel Management (19th March), Certificate in Food and Nutrition (26th March) and Diploma in Nutrition & Health Education (27th March). The timing of the Tele-mode Orientation Programme will be 3 to 4 pm. The Participation Certificate will be issued to the Counsellors. The Resource Persons from IGNOU- HQ, New Delhi will be giving the orientation training through Gyandarshan –The Educational TV channel of India. The Gyandarshan TV channel is having two-way audio interaction facility i.e. the participants can call the studio and talk to the Resource Person, over telephone line, for interaction purpose. IGNOU Insist ‘Plastic- Free- Assignments’
Port Blair, Mar 01: To protect our environment, the Indira Gandhi National Open University, Government of India is taking many initiatives to avoid single use plastics/no to plastic etc. The Regional Centre, Port Blair has sent SMS to all IGNOU students, not- to- use -plastic items in the assignments. All the IGNOU students are advised, not –to-use the use of plastic items, such as: spiral binding, comb binding, laminations, use of plastic stick, plastic cover, transparent plastic sheet, color plastic sheets at the back etc, in the assignment papers. Strictly instructed the students to remove all the plastic items as part of assignments, if any, and then only the assignments will be accepted at Study Centre. The Assignment Acknowledge Slip will be issued only for plastic free assignments. The students are advised to use simple thread, tag, and stapling pin for bunching the assignment papers. The assignments which are written on one side of the paper will be rejected. To save tree, student should write on both side of the paper.

Video – Class for IGNOU Students
Port Blair, Feb 28: To facilitate the students of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, the IGNOU Regional Centre, Port Blair is organizing special Video Classes on every Saturday On 29th February 2020, during forenoon session 10.00 am to 12 noon CDs for BCA students similarly, during post lunch session 12 noon to 2.00 pm CDs for CDM students will be played. The Video Class will be held at first floor of Kannada Sangha Building, IGNOU Regional Centre, Mohanpura. Each topic specific video CD will be of 30 minutes duration. The students of Bachelor of Computer Application & Certificate in Disaster Management are informed through SMS/e-mail/ phone calls from Regional Centre. If the students are not able to attend on Saturday Video Class, they may come to Regional Centre on any working day from Monday to Friday between 10 am to 12 noon and 2 pm to 4 pm to watch the Video Class.
