Port Blair, June 15: A resident of Dignabad was arrested by PS Aberdeen yesterday for attacking his own nephew with a knife.
According to reports the accused Mr. Elango, 56 years, had a quarrel yesterday late afternoon with a lady, who is his neighbor.
Sources said that the nephew of Mr. Elango, Mr. Kartick intervened and tried to take Mr. Elango inside his house. On this, Mr. Elango reportedly lost control over his anger and attacked his own nephew with a knife.
Mr. Kartick reportedly sustained minor injuries on his chest. On complaint an assault case was registered against Mr. Elango and he was arrested. Further details are awaited.
One Arrested from Swaraj Dweep under POCSO Act

Port Blair, June 13: On 11 June 2021, a police team of PS Swaraj Dweep arrested a 22 year old resident of Shyam Nagar private worker under POCSO Act for allegedly impregnating a minor girl after making forceful physical relationship. Recently when the 17 year minor girl went to nearby hospital for treatment, doctors found her pregnant, following which the matter was reported to police.
Two arrested in Diglipur for bootlegging

Port Blair, June 10: Today credible information was received by Police Station Diglipur regarding bootlegging at Laxmipur and RK Gram areas of Diglipur.
Following this, the police team of PS Diglipur raided two places of Laxmipur and RK Gram areas and recovered 15KG of Rice Beer from Laxmipur area and 10 KG of illicit liquor at RK Gram. It is learnt that two people were arrested in these cases.
POCSO cases registered at PS Kalighat; Jharkhand resident Arrested

Port Blair, June 09: On 07 June 2021, a POCSO case was registered in Police Station Khalighat against a resident of Jharkand.
As per source on 7th June, a 16 year old minor girl went to nearby hospital when Doctor checked her, the Doctor found her six months pregnant.
Immediately information was given to Police Station Khalighat following which a POCSO case was registered.
On investigation by police, it was found that the girl had relationship with a 24 year old youth, a private worker, resident of Garacharma and permanent resident of Jharkhand.
Yesterday 08 June 2021, Police team of Police Station Khalighat arrested the accused from Port Blair. Further details are awaited.
One arrested by PS Diglipur for bootlegging

Port Blair, June 09: Yesterday, 08 June 2021 a credible information was received by Police Station Diglipur that a person is having IMFL for selling the same in Subashgram region.
On information, Immediately a police team was formed, headed by Inspector N S Stalin, SHO PS Diglipur. The team soon conducted a raid in the house of Mr. Vishwanathan, 36 years, resident of Subashgram Diglipur. During raid 23 bottles of 750 ML IMFL and 118 Hunter Canned Beer 500 ML were seized and accused was arrested. Further details are awaited.
Continue strike on illegal trade of illicit liquor by Police Station Humfrygunj

Port Blair, June 08: On 08/06/21, based on credible information, a Jungle search was conducted by the raiding team of Police Station Humfrygunj at the dense forest of Nayasahar village. During the jungle search, two Syntex of 500 ltrs capacity of each were found at 03 Kms inside of dense forest towards Nayasahar Dam with approximately 800 ltrs of Lehan.
Then all the above recovered illicit Lehan, Syntex and other articles were destroyed on the spot as per procedure. Due to dedicating efforts and hard-work amidst heavy rain such huge quantity of Lehan and other illicit liquor manufacturing articles were recovered and destroyed at the spot.
One Arrested from Tugapur for Impregnating a minor Girl
Port Blair, June 06: Yesterday 04 June 2021 A POCSO case has been registered in Police Station Mayabunder against one accused for impregnating a minor girl.
As per reports recently a minor girl visited a nearby hospital because of some health issues and during checkup doctors found the minor girl pregnant.
Immediately the matter was reported to Mayabunder Police Station. Based on this, the police registered a case and identified the accused, who is 20 year old Resident of Tugapur area. As per sources the accused has been arrested. Further details are awaited.
Crackdown on Bootleggers & Illicit Liquor Continues
Port Blair, June 06: A & N Police is committed to zero tolerance policy against bootlegging and illicit liquor. To ensure that bootleggers and illicit liquor sellers do not take advantage of Lockdown, a close vigil has been kept over the bootleggers and of late the numerous raids have been conducted in various parts of the South Andaman district.
Though Police resources are over stretched and police is working 24×7 to enforce lockdown to contain and break the chain of Corona virus but there is absolutely no compromise on the issue of bootlegging. Rather, stringent surveillance is being kept over these activities against bootlegging and illicit liquor.
In the month of May, 2021, as many as 42 cases have been registered in South Andaman district. Huge cache of liquor that includes 258 bottles of IMFL and 1702 Kg of Handia were recovered. Criminal case is registered against Bar Owner of Golden Bar, Garacharma for bootlegging and 41 bottles were recovered in the raid. In addition, search operations were carried out in jungle to discover illicit liquor. Resultant 5820 liters of Lehan (fermented wash) was destroyed in jungle search operations. Leaving no stone unturned, as many as 14 deep jungle searches were conducted to keep a check on this illicit trade.
A & N Police is committed to take stern action against bootleggers and illicit liquor. In this context, 56 History sheets were opened against repeated offenders in the month of May, 2021 and strict surveillance has been mounted. 03 persons were also booked under preventive sections of CrPC.
The general public is requested to share information pertaining to any crime or other illegal activities to Police at 100, 112 & 03192-233077. The identity of the informant will be kept secret.
Two More Arrested in 5.5 KG Ganja case

Port Blair, June 03: Two more people have been arrested by Aberdeen Police Team in Ganja Smuggling Case.
Recently on 31 May 2021 one person namely Ganesh Bag, a resident of Old Pallavaram, Tamil Nadu was arrested by a joint team of Police Station Chatham and Police Station Aberdeen at ITF Ground and from him 5.5 KG of Ganja was recovered. The arrest was made after the accused landed at Port Blair and was waiting for his RTPCR test.
On investigation police team found that two more people namely M Babu, 30 years and Mr. G Raj, 38 years, both residents of Junglighat, were involved in the Ganja racket of Ganesh Bag. After collecting sufficient evidence and links both were arrested by the PS Aberdeen team.
This was 2021’s biggest quantity Ganja seizure by Police Teams, it is learnt.
POCSO Case against one for impregnating Minor; Accused Absconding

Port Blair, June 03: A POCSO case has been registered in Police Station Katchal against one accused for impregnating a minor girl.
As per reports recently a minor girl visited a nearby hospital due to some health issues and during checkup doctors found the 16 year old girl pregnant. Immediately the matter was reported to Katchal Police Station. Based on this, the police registered a case and identified the accused who is 26 year old. As per sources the accused is presently absconding and search is on for the accused. Further details are awaited.
