Port Blair, June 28: On 25 June 2021 a joint patrolling team of Ograbraj Police team of outpost Tirur and AAJVS, while on patrolling near western Coast of Jarawa reserve area, identified an engine dinghy with three persons. On enquiry about the permission of fishing in the area they failed to produce any documents.
Later the team detained all three persons and seized the engine dinghy and taken them to Police Station Ograbraj. All three accused namely Sanjay resident of New Wandoor, Krishna resident of New Wandoor and Vijay a resident of New Wandoor were arrested under Andaman and Nicobar PAT regulation and further investigations are going on.
17 kgs venison seized by Mobile Squad team of Middle Andaman Forest Division
Port Blair, June 28: On 28/06/2021 at about 0600 hrs, the team of AFEVS unit consisting of Mr. S P Roy Dy. Ranger, Mr. Baiju M Nair Forester, Mr. M Shabbir forest guard, Mr. Basant Lall forest guard, Mr. Sanjay Mondal, Mr. Anup Mistry mazdoors on a tip off went to forest check post Rangat, under Gram Panchayat Rangat & Range jurisdiction of Rangat & intercepted an auto rickshaw bearing registration No. AN01-D-6164. On checking three plastic bags of which two bags containing crabs of about 40 Kgs & one bag contains venison about 17 Kgs were found.
The Auto driver along with two persons was arrested & the venison, crabs & the vehicle were seized on the spot under relevant section of wild life protection Act 1972. All the accused were brought to the Range office AFEVS unit alongwith the seized materials (meat of spotted deer, crabs & vehicle).
Further interrogation/investigation the accused auto driver disclosed his name as Mr. Ranjit Sana S/o Late Sushil Sana R/o Laxmanpur under GP Urmilapur. He stated that the two persons hired his auto from Shyamkund village & asked him to go to Rangat and they carried three bags which were tied by rope & when he asked about it they said all the bags contain crab which they are going to sell to a wholesaler in Rangat market.
The other two co-passengers were identified as Mr. Dulal Biswas S/o Mr. Batul Biswas, R/o Shyamkund & Mr. Uttam Bachar S/o Mr. Shanti Ram Bachar R/o Bangaon respectively under GP Bakultala. After verification of all case related documents the same are being handed over to Range officer Rangat in original for further proceedings of the case. The case is under investigation.
The entire operation took place under the guidance of Mr. Vijay Kishen, Forest Ranger Mobile Squad Rangat & under overall direction and supervision of Mr. Satyaprakash Singh, IFS Divisional Forest Officer, Middle Andaman Forest Division.
Middle Andaman Forest Division has zero tolerance against any offence related to Wildlife or Forest and any other anti-social activities which prevails in the Reserved Forest area/Protected areas.

Fake Driving License Racket; Resident of 24 Paragana, WB arrested by PS CCS

Port Blair, Jun 27: A Police Team of PS Central Crime Section (CCS) arrested a resident of Ograbraj area, who is involved in selling fake driving licenses of various states.
As per information received on 25 June 2021 an officer of Andaman and Nicobar Command got information about a person, who is a Barber and running a Barber shop in NAVC building, allegedly involved in selling fake Driving License to people. Soon a surprise checking was carried out in his shop during which they recovered some fake documents and immediately the matter was informed to PS CCS, on which Police Team CCS arrested the accused namely Mr. Ratan Sarkar, a resident of Ograbraj and permanent resident of 24 Paragana, West Bengal.
As per source on investigation the police team recovered many fake driving licenses from his possession and found that he is in contact with one person from West Bengal, who is creating fake documents and sending the same to him. Both used to share the money. The fake licenses, from other states even have chips integrated in it.
The accused was produced to court on Sunday from where he was sent to police remand for further interrogation.
Naveen Nagar resident arrested for killing friend during argument over money

Port Blair, June 25: A resident of Naveen Nagar, Diglipur has been arrested by PS Diglipur today, under section 304 IPC, for killing his friend.
According to details yesterday night at around 11 PM heated argument erupted between two friends Mr. Vinod Kerketta, 37 years and Mr. Kamal @Pandi, 36 years, at Ganesh Temple area of Naveen Nagar. Soon there was a fight between both of them during which Mr. Vinod, overpowered Mr. Pandi and knocked him down.
According to claim Mr.Pandi became unconscious after which Mr. Vinod left the place and went to his home.
This morning at around 6.00 AM while crossing the area, a police constable spotted Mr. Pandi, who was dead by then. Soon the body was shifted to nearby hospital and after postmortem the body was handed over to the family members of the victim.
The accused Mr. Vinod was soon arrested under section 304 IPC (causing death o by doing any rash or negligent act not amounting to culpable homicide).
As per details Mr. Vinod was DRM in PWD while Mr. Pandi was private worker. The inquiry was conducted by Inspector, NS Stalin, SHO PS Diglipur under the overall direction of DySP, N&M Andaman, Mr. RK Sharma and SP, N&M Andaman, Mr. Vichitra Veer, IPS.
Two arrested with 9.5 KG of Turtle Meat

Port Blair, June 24: A team of PS Humfrigunj arrested two people with 9.5 KG of Turtle meat yesterday.
According to detail yesterday on receipt of credible information two people are having Turtle mean for selling near New Manglutan area, a team of PS Humfrigunj, headed by Sub Inspector Anik Das SHO reached the spot. The team identified two persons namely Mr. Galok, a resident of New Manglutan and Mr. Sanyasi, a resident of Guptapara, private worker.
The team recovered a plastic bucket from them containing nearly 9.5 KG of Turtle meat. Immediately both the persons were detained by police later both persons were handed over to Manglutan Forest Range office for further investigation.

Port Blair, June 24: A resident of Brindaban area has been caught today by Forest Department with 06 KG of venison.
According to reports, on getting a credible information staffs of Tushnabad Range under South Andaman Forest Division today caught the accused, Mr. Isdore Lakra, a resident of Brindaban with the venison consignment, which was illegally hunted and collected from Ferrargunj area.
The team comprises of Mr. Mohammed Shafique, Forest Guard and Mr. Sajeeb Mon, Mr. Sunil Majhi, Mr. K Hussain, Forest Mazdoor.
Police Station Humfrigunj seizes 1.6 Kg of Ganja from Shaheed Dweep Resident
Port Blair, June 22: Based on a credible information, on 22/06/21 the police team of PS Humfrigunj comprising with SI Anik Das, SHO PS Humfrigunj, HC/762 Abdul Bashir, HC/2336 Bijoy Sarkar, PC/2647 Aurangzed, PC/1102 Shanker Aind, PC/2915 Sabraj Mohd., PC/1224 Akbar Ali, PC/2736 Nisha Kujur and PC(D)/3042 Periyaswamy conducted raid at the rented room of Pankaj Poddar S/o- Mr. Mahananda Poddar (30) yrs, Private worker R/o- Bharatpur, Shaheed Dweep presently at Memyo, Wandoor and recovered 02 Nos. brown packing tape cover containing 1.025 and 0.580 Kgs of illicit ganja. A total of 1.605 Kg of ganja has been recovered from the possession of Pankaj Poddar.
Subsequently, an FIR is registered at PS Humfrigunj against Pankaj Poddar and the further investigation is under progress.
Wildlife offence detected by Mobile Squad team of Middle Andaman Forest Division
Port Blair, June 18: On 17/06/2021 at about 0600 hrs, the team of AFEVS unit consisting of Mr S P Roy Deputy Ranger, Mr M Shabbir forest guard, Mr Basant Lall forest guard along with six mazdoors Mr Kaushik Vaishnab, Mr N. Azhagu, Mr. M. Panchavarnam, Mr Anup Mistry, Mr. Ranjan Haldar & Mr. Ashrafuddin on on a tip off went for patrolling to Western coast of Kausalya nagar RF area, under Urmilapur Panchayat & Range jurisdiction of Bakultala & following the foot prints & some other identification marks which indicates illegal trespass into the RF by some unknown persons, the forest team spread inside the RF to trap the suspected accused & about 1030 hrs the team detected four suspected persons carrying some bags coming out of the reserved forest and the forest officials chased them & get hold of two suspect, out of four as the other two suspects manage to flee from the spot taking the advantage of heavy rain and after a massive search the other two absconding suspects could not be traced out & as such the two accused were arrested on the spot with head portion, fat & liver of Andaman wild pig which were seized on the spot from the possession of the accused who disclosed their name as Mr Romanus Dhanwar S/o No as Dhanwar and Mr. Budhadev Sikari S/o Late Prafulya Sikari. The forest officials Seized the wildlife produce & arrested the accused persons on the spot.
On further investigation/interrogation the names of the other two Co-accused were disclosed as Mr. Pradeep Dhanwar S/o No as Dhanwar and Mr William Kaschap S/o Late Somra Munda as revealed by the arrested accused in their statement. All the accused persons are residents of Kalsi village. Further the two arrested accused reveals that alongwith the other two person they went inside the RF at 0500 hrs on 16.06.2021to lay trap and stayed inside the RF over night and on 17.06.2021 morning they noticed an Andaman wild pig got trapped. They killed the wild pig, removed the skin & cut into pieces in the forest and put it in bags to carry. The weight of the seized wild life produce recorded as 5.5 Kilograms by the investigating team.
Since the accused were caught red handed while trespassing the Reserved forest & hunting wild animal & as such they have been booked under the relevant sections of IFA 1927 & Wildlife Protection Act 1972 for committing an offence as per law & after following all codal formalities the arrested accused persons along with seized materials and case related documents in original were handed over to Range Officer Bakultala from where the accused were produced before the CJM in the Court of CJM Mayabunder, from where the accused were remanded to Judicial custody for 14 days.

Fight against illegal sale of liquor and Rice Beer; 11 arrested by PS Baratang Team
Port Blair, June 17: The staff of Police Station Baratang led by SHO, PS Baratang, under the supervision of SDPO, Rangat & overall supervision of SP(D) N&M Andaman conducted special raids during lock down in the jurisdiction of Police Station Baratang to completely eradicate the illegal sale of liquor/illicit handia (Rice Beer), resulting which they succeeded to recover 124 Kg of illicit Hanida & 03 Nos. IMFL bottles as a result 11 accused persons have been arrested out of which 05 accused persons have been booked u/s 110(g) Cr.P.C. for their repeated offence. The District Police of North & Middle Andaman is adopting zero tolerance policy to completely eradicate the illegal sale of liquor in the jurisdiction of Police Station Baratang.

29 pieces of Padauk Timber Seized from Port Mout Area
Port Blair, June 16: On 14 June 2021 night, an information received in Police Station Ograbraj about storage of illegal Hand Sawn Timber in a house of Port Mout area, where immediately police team reached and conducted a search. During the search the team found about 0.466 cbm (29 pieces) of hand sawn timber (Padauk).
The matter was immediately intimated to Forest Range office Tushnabad, upon which the forest team reached the spot and inquired about valid documents bill with the accused Mr. Harjeet Singh but as he failed to produce any valid documents for the timber. He was arrested for violation of the provisions of Indian Forest Act, 1927 and later released on bail.
