Port Blair, July 09: Two unnatural deaths have been reported in Police Station Pahargaon yesterday, in which suspected suicide of one lady and suspected murder of her infant, under suspicious conditions have been mentioned.
Immediately a police team reached the spot and conducted further investigation.
As per information yesterday evening a defense persons, who used to live in a rented house in New Pahargaon, when returned back home after duty found doors locked from inside. Even after repeated efforts he did not get any response from his wife. Soon people living nearby gathered. Later the doors were forced opened by the defense person and neighbours.
Inside, they found wife of the defense person hanging from ceiling fan while the infant daughter was unconscious with injuries over neck.
Immediately both were rushed to INHS Dhanvantri hospital, where doctor declared them brought death. Later the bodies were taken to GB Pant hospital for Postmortem. Police is investigation the case in every possible angle, more details are awaited.
Theft case solved by Police Station Humfrigunj within 24 hours
Port Blair, July 09: On the evening of 08/07/21, a complaint was received at police station Humfrigunj by the Panchayat Secretary Wandoor that the panchayat assets viz water tank and GI pipes were stolen from Wandoor Jetty.
Acting swiftly on the information, a special team was constituted comprising with HC/762 Abdul Basir, HC/2336 Bijoy Sarkar, PC/2647 Aurangzeb Ahmed, PC/1102 Shanker Aind and PC/2736 Nisha Kujur under the command of SHO PS Humfrigunj.
It was completely blind theft case and there was no clue. The special constituted team with their handwork and collected intelligence ultimately traced the stolen articles from Tarun Mondal R/o- Wandoor.
On interrogation, the accused Tarun Mondal revealed that on the night of 07/07/21 at 11 PM, he along with one G Papa Rao R/o- Wandoor had stolen the panchayat assets and hid those materials behind his house.
Then the police team successfully recovered the stolen articles on 09/07/21 at 1600 Hrs. Both the accused will be produced before the Hon’ble court. Further investigation of the case is in progress.
Swaraj Dweep man severs wife’s head, later surrenders in Police Station

Port Blair, July 08: In a shocking development a resident of Govind Nagar, Swaraj Dweep severed his wife’s head this morning and later surrendered himself to Andaman and Nicobar Police.
As per details the man, namely Mr. Uttam Bharda, 35 years, a resident of Govind Nagar No. 2, Swaraj Dweep and a permanent resident of Kadamtala, Uttara village reached Police Station Swaraj Dweep this morning and surrendered himself stating that he has murdered his wife Mrs. Jothika Bhadra, 29 years, a permanent resident of Diglipur.
Immediately a police team reached his house and found the beheaded body inside the kitchen of the house. The body was soon shifted to nearby Hospital.
A murder case has been registered against the accused it is learnt. Although complete details about the actual reason behind this murder is still not known but prima facie it has been revealed during investigation that Mrs. Jothika Bhadra was about to leave the house following some family issue, on which the accused attacked her out of extreme anger.
As per details Mr. Uttam Bharda was living in Swaraj Dweep Island since last five years and they have a nine year old daughter. The accused used to work in Tourism sector as a boat operator. Further investigations are on in this regard.
Forth Accused of Fake Driving License Case brought to Port Blair today

Port Blair, July 08: The Central Crime Station unit of Andaman and Nicobar Police have till now arrested four people in a fake Driving License racket, which was first detected from defence area under Andaman and Nicobar Command. As per details while the first accused has been arrested from Andaman, three other people connected in this racket have been arrested from Mainland India.
The fourth accused have been brought to Port Blair today via flight from Jharkhand, it is reported.
As per details last month an officer of Andaman and Nicobar Command got information about a person, who is a Barber and running a Barber shop in NAVC building (inside Naval area of Andaman Nicobar Command), allegedly involved in selling fake Driving License to people.
Soon a surprise checking was carried out in his shop during which they recovered some fake documents and immediately the matter was informed to Police Station Central Crime Station, on which Police Team CCS arrested the accused Mr. Ratan Sarkar, a resident of Ograbraj and permanent resident of 24 Paragana, West Bengal.
As per details, two accused, who were arrested recently from West Bengal and Odisha, were already sent to Port Blair while the fourth accused was brought to Port Blair today. Andaman and Nicobar Police have also been investigating whether these accused have any Bangladeshi intruder link.
Three more arrested from Mainland in Fake Driving License Racket

Port Blair, July 07: Under the leadership of present Director General of Police, a team of A & N Police has successfully arrested three accused from Mainland India in fake driving license racket, in which once person namely Mr. Ratan Sarkar, a resident of Ograbraj and permanent resident of 24 Paragana, West Bengal was arrested last month.
As per reports on 25 June 2021 an officer of Andaman and Nicobar Command got information about a person, who is a Barber and running a Barber shop in NAVC building, allegedly involved in selling fake Driving License to people. Soon a surprise checking was carried out in his shop during which they recovered some fake documents and immediately the matter was informed to PS CCS, on which Police Team CCS arrested the accused Mr. Ratan Sarkar. It is learnt that after the arrest joint interrogation of the accused was also carried out to get details about the complete racket and locate other accused, based in Mainland India.
As per details, two accused, who were arrested recently, were already sent to Port Blair and one more accused, who was arrested later, will be brought to Port Blair soon. With this total four arrests have been made in fake driving license case.
It seems that under the present DGP, all units of Andaman and Nicobar Police are totally charged up and because of this, such difficult arrests are possible.
As no Police Officer was available to comment on this issue, further details are awaited.
One arrested with 05 KG wild boar meat

Port Blair, July 02: Yesterday a Joint Patrolling was conducted by Ograbraj Police and AAJVS staffs at Harpatabad area of South Andaman at night hours.
At around 08:00 PM the team stopped a car and while checking the team found red meat of about 05 kg in weight.
Later it was found that it was meat of wild boar and hence the person carrying the mean, Mr. Amit Sarkar, 40 years, resident of Harpatabad area has been detained.
He was later handed over to Tushnabad forest Range for further course of action. Further details are awaited.
Crackdown On Illicit Liquor By N&M District Police Continues
Port Blair, July 01: Continuing it’s crackdown on the illicit liquor, Handia and illegal sale IMFL, the district police of North & Middle Andaman has been conducting regular searches in jungles. In the just ended month of June, the teams of various police stations, headed by SHOs and sub-inspectors conducted 34 such search operations in the jungles. In these search operations, around 4500 litres of Lahan and Handia was destroyed. The strict vigil over the history sheeters and known bootleggers has also been identified. All the historysheeters are regularly being checked by the beat staff, making it hard for them to be involved in any illegal activity.
In the month of June, the district police has registered a total of 32 cases for the violation of Excise Regulation, in which around 38 bottles of various quantities of IMFL and 118 beer cans have been seized. Apart from this, more than 300 kgs Handia and 44 ltrs illicit liquor has also been seized.
With the good work being done by the police, the locals are coming forward and sharing information regarding the bases made by bootleggers in jungle for fermentation and processing.
One arrested from Shaheed Dweep for Ganja Cultivation

Port Blair, June 30: As police is constantly monitoring all entry points of smuggling of Ganja, it has been observed that in some cases, some people are indulging in growing Ganja plants in Andaman.
Recently one such information was received by the police team of PS Shaheed Dweep. Following which a team of PS Shaheed Dweep consisting ASI Surya Narayan, HC Amrita Bawali, PC Sulaiman, PC Srinivasan, PC Dipti, PC Kartick Velu, HG Prasanna led by SI Devanand Pathak SHO PS Shaheed Dweep conducted raid in presence of Dr.Vivek and recovered 06 Nos. Of Ganja plant from the possession of Dilip Chand R/o Sitapur Shaheed Dweep.
Most of the recovered plants were more than 5 feet height. A case under relevant section of NDPS Act,1985 has been registered against the aforesaid accused person in PS Shaheed Dweep.
The team of PS Shaheed Dweep under the command of new DGP with a vision of drugs free Islands is giving a hard time to the bootleggers and drug peddlers.
They have been successful in recovering more than 05ltrs of IMFL, 100kgs of illicit Rice Beer from the bootleggers and have registered many cases under relevant sections of excise regulation in recent time. The raids were conducted under overall direction of SDPO Swaraj Dweep and SP (D).
South Andaman Police seizes Huge Haul of IMFL & Beer at a Bar in Swaraj Dweep
Port Blair, June 30: Continuing its commitment towards zero tolerance policy against bootlegging and illicit liquor especially in the time of lockdown, a close vigil has been kept over the bootleggers and special raids have been launched to unearth such illegal activities.
As a result of persistent endeavour, on 29/06/2021 the team comprising Inspector A. Usman, SHO PS Swaraj Dweep, SI P.R. Pradeep, PCs Aslam, A. Mohd. Saffique, S.L Sarkar of PS Swaraj Dweep conducted raid near Hotel Kingdom, Govind Nagar No.02, Swaraj Dweep and recovered 02 Nos. 750ml IMFL Bottle from the possession of one person namely Saroj Roy S/o Mr. Shankar Roy (32yrs) Pvt Driver of Radhakrishna Resort, Swaraj Dweep. On enquiry about the source of IMFL bottles, it was found that he had bought it from Mr. Pradeep Sarkar, owner of Radhakrishna Resort. Later, Police party raided the Radhakrishna Resort and M/s Garden view Bar. During physical verification, a total of 81 bottles (56 bottles whiskey of 750ml, 01 bottle of Vodka 750ml &24 bottles of Beer 650 ml) were missing from the stock. It was revealed that they had diverted the stock of the bar for illegal sale during this lockdown. Subsequently, 470 Nos. bottles Co. sealed (80 Nos. bottles of IMFL whiskey, 66 Nos. bottles of IMFL Vodka & 324 Nos. bottles of Beer) were seized from the spot and both the persons were booked under Excise Regulation Act read with section IPC, DM Act and violation/disobedience of District Magistrate’s order, South Andaman District.
The entire operation took place under the close supervision of Mr. Abhishek Gupta, SDPO Swaraj Dweep, South Andaman District. The general public is requested to share information with Police at 100, 112 & 03192-233077. The informant will be suitably rewarded and his/her identity will be kept secret.
One nabbed with 20 kgs of Venison

Port Blair, June 29: On 25 June 2021 credible information was received in Police Station Bambooflat about one person having huge quantity of venison in his house.
Immediately Police team formed a raiding team and rushed to Shoal Bay area.
At Shoal Bay the team identified a person namely Mr. Christu, a resident of Shoal Bay who was hiding a bag. On checking police team found 20KG of Venison from the bag.
Immediately Police team detained the person and the person was handed over to Forest Range office Mannarghat for further investigation.
