Remaining 02 accused of Juvenile Home Double Murder Case apprehended

Port Blair, Aug 06: Finally some good news came from Burmanallah area of South Andaman, this morning for Andaman and Nicobar Police and for these Islands that two remaining absconding juveniles, in conflict with law in connection with the double murder in the Juvenile Home at Nayagaon, have been apprehended today.

Later during preliminary interrogation the arrested Juveniles reportedly told Police that they survived on Biscuits, they brought from Juvenile Home and coconuts, they gathered from the Jungle, in which they were hiding.

Highly placed sources told Andaman Sheekha that during interrogation they reportedly told Police that they have been moving from one place to another inside the Burmanalah Jungle. They were reportedly changing their place everyday and a day before yesterday they came near the main-road.

However, police department is trying to establish entire chain of events. Meanwhile, both juveniles been handed to the Special Juvenile Police Unit of PS Aberdeen.

According to police, these two juvenile delinquents shall be produced before the Hon’ble Juvenile Justice Board, Port Blair on 07/08/2012. Further investigation is on.

“The Andaman & Nicobar Police appreciates the assistance and cooperation extended by members of the public in the massive search operation launched by several police teams to trace out the juveniles absconding from the Home since the day of incidents,” a release from SP South Andaman said here today.

Port Blair, Aug 06: Though the Andaman and Nicobar Police have saved the day by apprehending two remaining Juveniles from Burmanallah Forest this morning but now another hurdle is making things difficult for the Department.

At present the A & N Police doesn’t have a Myanmarese Translator at Port Blair. The police jawan, who was trained as Myanmarese Translator has been transferred to Campbell Bay recently and this is causing delay in interrogation, sources told Andaman Sheekha. As two of the accused, among four juveniles are Myanmarese, police department is finding it difficult for communicate with them and to record their statements.

However, sources have confirmed that the Police Department is arranging another translator who may join the interrogation tomorrow or the day after.

At present the Police Department is badly in need of a translator because till now it is not clear, who had actually master-minded the great escape and murder. Though interrogation of two Indian Juveniles is almost over but police department is expecting that some more facts will come out after interrogation of both Myanmarese Juveniles.

Port Blair, Aug 06: On a secret information, the Police team of Central Crime Police Station led by SI Mohd. Sameer, I/C Central Crime Station, Port Blair alongwith SI N. Zainuddin, HC/K.R. Murgeshan, PC/Sameer Ahmed, PC/Udaya Kumaran, PC/Sujit Dutta, PC/Ragunath Baraik, PC/Laxman Rao, PC/Sumit Kr. Nag, PC/Abubackar Siddique PC(D)/Bairagi, HG(D)/ Hemant Rao conducted raid at Hotel Gaj International, Goal Ghar under the supervision of Shri J.S Malik, DYSP (CID) and arrested 07 persons namely 1) Uday Narayan, 2) C. Mohammed, 3) Prakash Sarkar, 4) Ajay Lall, 5) A.Kumar, 6) Zulmat Ali and 7) K. Abdul Jaleel who were found gambling with playing cards and recovered Rs 1,79,100/- (Rupees One Lakh Seventy Nine Thousand One Hundred only) including Rs. 149100/- (Rupees One Lakh Fourty Nine Thousand One Hundred only) as stake money on the evening of 05/08/12. Later, they were challaned under the appropriate section of law.

The general public are requested to provide credible information pertaining to any illegal activities on the following telephone Numbers- 232586, 233307 and 100. The identity of the informer will be kept secret.

Port Blair, Aug 03: In connection with the double murder in the Juvenile Home at Nayagaon, two juveniles in conflict with law who were absconding, have been located and apprehended by the Special Juvenile Police Unit with assistance from the local police and public. The search for other two juveniles who escaped from the Home is still on in connection with P.S. Aberdeen crime case no. 242/12 dated 29/07/12 u/s 302/34IPC.

Since the morning of 29/07/2012 when the heinous crime was discovered and reported to the police, several search teams have been combing the city and outskirts to locate the missing juveniles. Further investigation is in progress.

The general public is requested to inform the local police and the search teams if they have any information on the whereabouts of the missing juveniles, a release from SP South Andaman said here today.

 

Port Blair, July 30: Three inmates of Juvenile Home, who had reportedly killed the caretaker and the watchman of the correction centre on Saturday night, are still, untraceable. According to report while escaping from the correction centre they had taken the mobile phone of the caretaker, Late B S Pillai and have been using the same occasionally.

The A & N Police have launched a man-hunt to arrest all three inmates, who are believed to be hiding somewhere near Burmanallah Jungles, although the Police is getting contradictory clues. The fourth inmate was arrested on the Saturday night by the PCR van and is being interrogated by Mayanmarese translators of A & N Police.

Port Blair, July 24: Chinna, a 24 year old youth has been arrested by A & N Police yesterday for allegedly raping a six year old girl at Port Blair. The Girl Maya (name changed) was alone at home, when Chinna her neighbour entered inside her house and allegedly raped her. When complaint was launched yesterday, A & N Police arrested the accused immediately and produced him to court today, from where he has been sent to judicial custody.

Port Blair, July 10: Once again Andaman and Nicobar Police has busted prostitution racket in these Islands and arrested five persons.

“On 06.07.12 at 2005 hrs on a tip of information about running of a brothel at Macchi Basti, Mithakhari a team of police personnel led by Mr. Susheel Kumar Singh, Dy. Supdt. of Police, Middle Andaman laid a trap to nab the offenders wherein HC/2444 Muthu Kumar was designated as decoy with HC/897 Nicolas Samson as his shadow. The decoy was handed over a currency note of Rs.500/- denomination bearing serial No.6LD 4J49J2 duly signed for identification,” SBSTyagi, the Superintendent of Police of South Andaman informed media today.

The raiding party comprising of SI Sahil Samsuddin, SHO Ograbraj, HC/896 R.C.Prasad, PC/275 S.D. Prasad, PC/2461 Alphage, LPC/2417 Nazma Begum and LPC/2354 Hiramathi of PS Ograbraj accompanied by the independent witnesses rushed to Machi Basthi, Namunaghar and positioned themselves around the suspected place of incident, awaiting receipt of signal from the shadow witness.

The decoy struck a deal with Sayed Ali and passed on the information to his shadow, who in-turn signalled the raiding party.

“On this, the raiding party along with independent witness immediately raided the residence of Shri Mohammed Arif and knocked the front door of the house which was opened by the decoy,” the SP added.

On search of the house 2 ladies, less decently dressed and three male members including the owner of the house Mohd. Arif S/o Noor Mohd. (22 yrs) R/o Namunaghar and Saied Ali S/o Syed Ali (32) yrs R/o Mithakhari & Mohar Ali S/o Jinnat Ali (34) yrs R/o Mithakhari were nabbed hiding inside the kitchen of the house.

“On personal search of the accused, Rs.500/- currency note was recovered from the possession of Sayed Ali. The recovered currency note and other incriminating articles were seized under the cover of Seizure memo. All 5 accused were arrested from the spot for running a brothel and indulging in prostitution and a criminal case has been registered against them under relevant sections of law at PS Ograbraj,” the SP added.

Port Blair, July 07: On 21.06.11, in a raid conducted by the staff of Police Station CCS on the creditable information of Special Branch (CID), huge quantities of explosive substances had been seized at Haddo Wharf in a shocking incident in the islands. A case had been registered at PS CCS and after completion of investigation, charge sheet was submitted and the matter is pending trial before the Learned Sessions Court.

Subsequently, one accused person therein, namely Abbas Manthry, filed an application claiming involvement of 13 others, and the Learned Chief Judicial Magistrate, Port Blair, passed an order on 30.04.2012, directing the SHO, PS CCS to register a fresh case and investigate. In this regard, Crime No. 228/12 dated 30/04/12 u/s 3/4/5/6 of the Explosive Substances Act, 1908 and Section 120 (B) of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 was registered at PS CCS against 13 accused persons named therein.

During investigation of these new allegations made by Abbas Manthry, the IO S.I Girish Kumar, SHO PS CCS could unearth hidden materials establishing the concrete chain of evidence against these accused and those connected to the earlier case. DySP CID then arrested two persons namely (1) S. Bose S/o Late Sadai Marthu, Director of AGP Construction R/o Bhatubasti and (2) N. Guruswamy S/o Late Nalaswamy, Proprietor of NG Stone products R/o Prothrapur, together with their associates (1) B. Munish Kumar S/o Shri. S. Bose, Director of AGP Construction R/o Bhatubasti, and (2) R. Ramesh S/o Shri. T. Raj Babu, Owner of TRS Earth Movers R/o Bhatubasti. On 07/07/12, all four accused persons were produced before the Learned CJM and remanded to Judicial Custody pending their arraignment in the trial in the earlier case.

Port Blair, July 05: The anti-corruption department has seized some crucial documents related to WB (water berge) Kalapani on Friday, indicating some vital development in this case. There were allegations of misappropriation of money in some contract works for repair of WB Kalapani and based on this a complaint was lodged in the Anti-Corruption Department few months back.

Highly placed sources told Andaman Sheekha that last month the Chief Secretary had approved a file to start this case against ‘some’ staffs of Directorate of Shipping Services, following which an FIR was launched on 15 June 2012 by Anti Corruption Department in this regard.

It is presumed that a few high profile names of staffs, working in Directorate of Shipping Services, are mentioned in this case.
