Port Blair, July 13: A minor accident of an Air force School Bus with a Bike resulted in a heavy traffic jam for more than an hour at Prothrapur Junction this afternoon at around 2:30pm. Luckily no one was injured in this accident.
People who got trapped in the traffic jam alleged that negligence of the traffic police was the main reason behind such a long traffic jam.
“Usually the traffic police use to stand here at odd hours and impose challan, but at the time of need there is no traffic police at the spot,” alleged some public who got trapped in the traffic.
On information 2-3 staffs of Tylerabad Police reached the spot but even though it took a very long time for them to clear the traffic.
Some of the staffs of Air Force who reached the spot learning about the accident of the Air Force Bus helped the Police to clear the traffic to some extent.
People demanded that Prothrapur Junction being such a crucial point the Traffic Police Unit should depute at least 2-3 staffs whole day especially at the peak hours.
Police urges Investors, agents of NFSCs join probe
Port Blair, July 13: The A&N Police is receiving number of complaints from the people who have been cheated and defrauded by Non banking facility companies (NFSC) like M/s OAK India Multistate Credit Co-operative Society, M/s PINCON Group of Company, M/s Agri Gold Group of Company, M/s Weird Industries Ltd., M/s Geetanjali Udhyog Ltd., M/s Jasoda Group of Company, M/s Roofers Group of Company, M/s Silicon Projects India Ltd. Company, M/s SB Agro & Animal Husbandry Pvt. Ltd., M/s M/s Kolkata Weir Industries Ltd., M/s Express Cultivation Limited and M/s VMG Agro India Ltd. and cases have been registered against the Board of Directors of these companies.
The victims/investors and agents who invested their hard earned money have been requested to join the investigation at their nearest Police Station or at PS Central Crime Station (CCS) with documents for the purpose of further investigation.
Husband of Sippighat Murder Case gets police protection to brings back cattle and livestock

Port Blair, July 26: The Pahargaon Police has extended their support to the husband of the accused of Sippighat Murder case to bring back his cattle and Livestock from the area, close to murder spot.
According to sources, the husband of the accused was afraid of the villagers as there was a huge protest to keep him away from the village after the murder.
Because of threat from others the family of murder accused are presently living outside the village.
It is learnt that he had requested for the support of the Police to bring back his cattle and livestock from his plot.
A huge number of villagers reportedly gathered today when husband of the Sippighat Murder case accused reached the village.
Four arrested for fishing in Jarawa Reserved area

Kadamtala, July 11: Four persons have been arrested by the Kadamtala Police Station from Parlobjig number 10 area yesterday, for fishing Crab illegally in the Jarawa Reserved area.
It is learnt that all the four persons were arrested by the Police and were later released in bail, further details are awaited.
Accused in VIP Road Guru Mandir theft case arrested
Port Blair, July 11: On July 8, a complaint of theft of cash of about Rs. 5000/- by breaking the lock of the donation box of the Guru Mandir was received at Police Station Aberdeen from the priest of the temple. Upon this, a Case U/S 454/380 IPC was registered at PS Aberdeen and the South Andaman Police made sincere efforts towards trace the culprit and succeeded in arresting the accused Tejeshwar Rao R/o Sunder Colony, Haddo and produced him before the Court at Port Blair from where he was sent to judicial custody.
The general public have been requested to pass on information of illegal activities noticed in the area in South Andaman District to PCR (100) or nearest Police Station.

Diglipur, 10 July: Acting on an tip off today a team of Diglipur Police comprising of I/C PS Diglipur , SI G.Mohan Rao, ASI Dev Raju, HC/S.A.Razzak Ali, PC Akash, PC Dinesh, PC Ignatius, PC Bijoy, PC Sunil raided a gambling den at Ranchi Bijen at Sitanagar, Diglipur and arrested 6 persons namely Chiranjeet s/o Jeevan Saha aged about 28 yrs r/o Subhash Gram, Dipankar Biswas s/o Ranjit kr Biswas aged about 36 yrs r/o Subhash gram, Udhab Das s/o Jagadeesh Das aged about 45 yrs, Pintu Karmakar, S/o Late Sunil Karmakar aged about 37 yrs r/o Subhash gram, Anil Sikdar aged about 66yrs, r/o Sitanagar and Ganesh Mazumdar aged about 27 yrs r/o subhash gram and recovered Rs 45,860/- .The arrested persons were booked under A & N Gambling Reg. 1956.

Rape of Minor; Aunt Arrested

Port Blair, July 08: In a shocking incident, a 17 year old girl has reportedly launched a complaint at Ograbraj Police Station yesterday against a youth for raping her with the support of her Aunt and one more lady.
According to reports, the 17 year old minor went to her Aunt’s home situated at Sippighat, when her aunty who allegedly runs some kind of racket supported a youth to rape her.
As the incident took place at Sippighat therefore the case was later transferred from Ograbraj Police Station to Humphrygunj Police Station.
As per sources, the aunt of the girl, another lady and the youth who allegedly committed the rape has been arrested by the Humphrygunj Police and further inquiry is on.
Dairy Farm youth arrested for allegedly kidnapping a minor

Port Blair, July 05: The PS Aberdeen team of Andaman and Nicobar Police has arrested a 24 year old youth of Port Blair, on the charges of kidnapping a minor girl from Port Blair area.
As per details on 4th July 2016 the youth Nageshwar Rao, who hails from Dairy Farm area, had planned to run away to Mainland India with the minor girl, who is a student of a local private school.
As per police sources the boy, a private worker by profession, had already purchased flight tickets for both of them but due to presence of police and family members at the airport they could not enter the airport.
Finding no way out the boy took the girl to jungle of Namuna Ghar area of South Andaman, a location which was traced by police team of Aberdeen Police Station by evening.
Finally by late night the girl was rescued and was handed over to the parents while the youth was arrested under IPC & POCSO Act. The youth was later produced to court, from where he was sent to Prothrapur Jail.
45 years old man commits suicide by hanging himself

Port Blair, July 03: A 45 years old man namely Mr Mitai Poddar, a resident of Urmilapur, Rangat presently posted at Perka, Car Nicobar working in the Malaria Department has committed suicide at his relatives house at Rangat yesterday by hanging himself.
As per sources, the man was the prime suspect in a murder case of his friend who was murdered last year.
Sources said since that time Mr Mitai Poddar was in depression. Sources also added that the person had tried to commit suicide earlier.
12 year old boy attempts to commit suicide

Port Blair, July 03: A 12 year old boy namely Master Aswini Sale Kullu, a student of Nirmala Senior Secondary School studying in class VIII, attempted to commit suicide by hanging himself inside a parked bus at Dilanipur this evening.
As per reports, the boy was however saved by people who somehow noticed the boy attempting a suicide.
It is however learnt that the boy is presently admitted in the G B Pant hospital and treatment is on to save him from dying.
The reason behind this extreme step is yet not known.
