Little Andaman, Aug 08: A 12-year-old girl who was accidentally shot in the stomach by his brother as they played with air guns on Sunday, has suffered serious injuries and has been referred to G B Pant Hospital Port Blair.
The brother and his friend were shooting birds with their Air Gun outside their home in RK Pur, Little Andaman on Sunday.
While playing the brother mistakenly pressed the trigger of the gun and the pellet hit her sister at the left side of her stomach and penetrated inside.
It is learnt that the police has registered a case in this regard under IPC Section 388. Further details are awaited.
Suicide case converted into abetment to suicide case

Port Blair, Aug 08: The Andaman and Nicobar Police has converted the suicide case of Late Laxmi into a abetment to suicide case following protest by family members of the lady at G B Pant Hospital today.
As per reports, Laxmi, working as a Daily Rated Mazdoor at Port Blair Municipal Council and a resident of Municipal Quarter, Brookshabad had set herself on fire on 4th August after a heated argument with her husband, a regular employee at PBMC namely K Muniya Swamy.
Brother of Laxmi alleged that the son of Laxmi has seen his father putting kerosene on her but even after his statement the police has not arrested the husband of the deceased yet.
Later a Police team reached GB Pant Hospital and assured the family members of Laxmi and villagers that proper action will be taken against her husband soon, as the Suicide Case has already been converted into abetment to suicide case that is IPC 306, after which the protest concluded and the family members as well as the villagers then took the dead body for the last rites.
Suicide case of Mayabunder Girl converted into Murder Case

Port Blair, Aug 07: The suicide case of a 21 year old lady namely Seema (Name changed), a resident of Mayabunder, has now been converted into a Murder case, as the post mortem report suggested that the lady actually died because of Strangulation.
As per report the suicide case was earlier registered on 3rd August when the Cousin Brother of the girl, reported about the case to Bambooflat Police Station. As per report of the Cousin brother had reported that he found body of the girl hanging inside his room at Shore Point, following which he brought the body down.
As per sources there it is believed that the girl had a relationship with the said cousin brother and she used to visit him regularly from Mayabunder.
It is also learnt that she visited him the last week also. However, police is now investigating the matter. Further details are awaited.
Fake agent dupes five youths of Mumbai and AP

Port Blair, Aug 7: A fake agent from Andhra Pradesh has allegedly cheated five youth from Andhra Pradesh and Mumbai on the pretext of providing them jobs in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The conman reportedly deceived the five candidates trained as Seaman and received a total amount of Rs 7.5 lakh promising them jobs.
Speaking to Andaman Sheekha, the youth claimed that after receiving the money, the agent produced forged documents of his recruitment agency asked them to depart for Port Blair.
After arriving here, two associates of the agent received us at the airport and booked an hotel for us. But since then, their mobile numbers are continuously on ‘switched off’ mode. After staying for about 15-16 days in these islands, we have realised the fake agent cheated us on the promise of providing jobs and approached the office of the Telugu Desam Party of these islands, they said.
The State General Secretary of TDP, Mr Azizur Rehman informed that party workers designated to assist the five youth apprehend the two associates of the agent but they managed to escape while being taken to the Police Station.
A formal complaint has already been sent to the Police Commissioner of Vishakapatnam and Director General of Police, A & N Islands demanding arrest of the conman and his associates, he informed adding that the five youth have been provided financial assistance the party to depart back for their homeland.
Case registered against teacher for sexually abusing class XII Student

Diglipur, Aug 06: The Diglipur Police has registered a case against a teacher of Senior Secondary School for sexually abusing a XII standard minor girl.
As per the reports the student narrated 2-3 incidents to the Police.
The parents alongwith the student reported the matter to the Diglipur Police.
A case under POCSO Act has been registered by the police and further investigations are on.
Nearly two month old theft case solved with arrest of three; all items including cash recovered

Port Blair, Aug 07: The Aberdeen police have cracked nearly two month old theft case by arresting three persons. The Police team has also recovered most of the stolen items,
According to reports, the Aberdeen Police has arrested an ex Home Guard staff Vikas Kumar Dhali and also a former Junior Engineer of Electricity Department, Mr. Rasheed in this case. The Police is further investigating into the matter, it is learnt.
Details said that Mr. Rasheed was in Chennai from where a team of PS Aberdeen brought him to Port Blair yesterday. Presently he is in police custody while the second accused is already in JC remand. The third person will be produced to court tomorrow.
The theft was reported from the house of Dr Sunil Kumar, Psychiatrist, a resident of Round Basthi, Port Blair.
Calicut resident commits suicide

Port Blair, August 04: A man of about 39-40 year namely Muthu has hanged himself yesterday, behind the pumphouse of Calicut, Ward Number 4.
As per reports, the man was a habitual drinker and used to have arguments with her wife namely Mrs Kasturi Bai on regular basis and yesterday after having an argument again with her wife the man took this extreme step. It is learnt that the man has two sons.
25 year old lady sets herself on fire over an argument with Husband

Port Blair, August 04: A 25 year old lady namely Laxmi working as a Daily Rated Mazdoor at Port Blair Municipal Council and a resident of Municipal Quarter, Brookshabad has set herself on fire today at 03:30pm after a heated argument with her husband a regular employee at PBMC namely K Muniya Swamy.
According to report the lady was a daily victim of domestic violence.
According to reports, the mother of three had an argument with her husband yesterday after which the brother of lady launched a complaint in the Tylerabad Police Station after which the matter was solved.
As per sources, when the lady returned home from job today at 03:00pm, she again had an argument with her husband who was under heavy influence of alcohol.
It is learnt that after the argument the lady took this extreme step. However, sources said that the lady was immediately rushed to the nearby Hospital, but it is said that chances for the lady to survive is very less.
Dead body of a 52 year old man found at Drain

Port Blair, August 04: Dead body of a 52 year old man namely Karpaiya was found at a Drain at Austinabad near a BAR this morning. As per reports, the man was a habitual drinker and yesterday night he was under heavy influence of alcohol because of which he fell inside the drain of around 3 feet height.
In the accident the man suffered grievous injuries in his head because of which he succumbed to his injuries after the fall.
When the villagers saw the dead body of the man lying in the drain this morning they immediately informed the police, after which the police shifted the dead body to the G B Pant Hospital.
Gold Pilferage; Four arrested

Port Blair, Aug 03: Four persons those who have recently came to these islands have been arrested by the Tylerabad Police Station for stealing small amount of gold from number of households.
As per reports, these four people used to go to various households in the name of polishing the gold they used to steal gold in small amount from every house, using some strange chemicals.
The Tylerabad Police Station has received the complaint yesterday and it is learnt that after investigation all the four persons have been arrested today. Sources said that all the four persons will be produced into the court tomorrow.
