Rangat, Aug 21: A special team of Andaman and Nicobar police has arrested one from Kolkata for stealing money from the ATM of his friend and running away.
According to detail the accused Tapas Kumar Mondal and his friend Biswajit Biswas used to live together in Kadamtala area of Middle Andaman.
One day Tapas Kumar Mondal reportedly cheated Biswajit and escaped from these Islands after withdrawing Rs. 41,000 from his account.
After a complaint was lodged, a special team consisting of ASI Amit Kumar, HC Babu Rao and PC Rahul Maurya was formed by Rangat police and soon the team visited Kolkata and arrested the accused. He was later brought to Port Blair and produced to court from where the accused was sent to 8 days judicial remand.
Wild boar meat Seized at Little Andaman

Little Andaman, August 21: The Forest Department has seized around three kilograms of Wild Boar Meat from a house at R K Pur Village, Little Andaman.
On information a team of Forest Department after completing all formalities and after taking a search warrant conducted a raid on 19th August in the house of Suprakash Baidya from where the department seized 3 kilograms of wild boar meat.
The department has arrested the accused Suprakash Baidya and one of his friends Nanna, yesterday morning.
Hunting of Wild boar is illegal as wild boar an schedule (I) animal, which comes under wildlife protection act. The Forest Department is further investigating into the matter, it is learnt.
Police recover 96 Nos of 750ml IMFL bottles
Port Blair, Aug 19: In a coordinated efforts by SHO PS Rangat and SHO PS Kadamtala, earlier this month, a police party of PS Kadamtala consisting of SI G. Suresh Kumar, SHO PS Kadamtala alongwith PSI Mohammed Raza and HC/ Zubair succeeded in recovering 96 Nos 750ml IMFL bottles from a car bearing registration No. AN-01/F-2911 at Police Check Post Parlobjig No.03 (PS Kadamtala). The car was coming from Rangat to Kadamtala. On enquiry from the owner/driver he could not produce any valid license or permit to carry the above quantity of IMFL as such all the above 96 IMFL bottles and car bearing Reg. No. AN-01/F-2911 were seized and the person namely Anbanathan S/o Late. Vellathi (29yrs) R/o Rangat was arrested from the spot. In this regard, a case under Regulation III of 1876 has been registered at Police Station Kadamtala and is being investigated.
People have been advised to refrain from such activities and also to inform nearest Police Station if such activities are noticed by them.
Smart Work by Cops Cracks theft case, 2 cook and 1 Crew of MV Harshawardhana arrested

Port Blair, August 18: Smart work by the cops of Aberdeen Police Station has again cracked a blind theft case that too with 100% recovery, which was recently, registered in the Aberdeen Police Station by the victim Mr Abdul Nasir a resident of Calicut.
As per reports, Mr Abdul Nasir with an amount of Rs 2.5 lakhs went to the Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital in the recent past and while collecting slip from the G B Pant Hospital’s counter, he noticed that his daughter is missing and during the search he kept the amount on the rack, beside the counter. Shockingly in within no time, when he returned back to take his money he found that it is missing.
However, with extraordinary smart work by the team headed by the Station Head Officer, Aberdeen Police Station, Mr Mahesh Yadav and his subordinates, ASI Vijay Shankar and ASI Hentho worked in the blind theft case and after getting some leads the team started collecting information about three suspects i.e Sujoy Biswas, Pronoy Kanjilal both cook of vessel MV Harshavardhana and Nimay Samaddar, Crew at vessel MV Harshawardhana.
It is learnt that the team kept on collecting evidences secretly against these three suspects, when the vessel was at Kolkata, as soon as the vessel reached Port Blair 1-2 days ago the team interrogated the suspects during when they confessed their crime.
The whole stolen amount that was around 2.5 lakhs was 100% recovered by the Aberdeen police which was jointly shared by them. The Victim has also thanked the Aberdeen Police and other senior officers of ANP for the 100% recovery of his amount, which he never expected.
The Aberdeen Police in the recent past has cracked many theft cases including theft in Dr Sunil’s Home and also apprehended the ATM fraudsters from mainland.
ATM fraudster arrested by South Andaman Police from West Bengal
Port Blair, Aug 17: An ATM Fraud case has been cracked by a team of South Andaman Police on 06/08/16 by arresting the accused from Durgapur, West Bengal.
The said case was registered in South Andaman District and cheating was done by unknown persons impersonating as Bank Manager of SBI bank and by demanding confidential information from SBI account holders such as account number, debit card number, ATM pin etc and which was later used to withdraw money from their accounts through unauthorized online transactions.
After detailed analysis, it came to light that this racket was being operated from Jharkhand, Bihar and West Bengal and after developing the lead, a team comprising of SI Usman Ali, HC Ram Nag and Constable Uttam Kumar Das went to Jharkhand and West Bengal and after conducting a series of raids in Jharkhand and West Bengal with help of local Police, the team succeeded in arresting one fraudster namely Ram Prasad Mondal age 23 yrs R/o Durgapur from Durgapur West Bengal. The police team also recovered incriminating articles like Mobile phones, fake documents etc from the possession of accused. The accused was produced before the Additional CJM, Durgapur where the Hon’ble Court has directed the accused to re-surrender before the Hon’ble CJM Port Blair before 19 August 2016.
Due to the sincere and dedicated efforts of Inspr. Mahesh Yadav, SHO PS Aberdeen, and supervision of Dy.SP S/A, Shri. Ajay Rai and cooperation by the State Police of West Bengal, the successful arrest of the ATM fraudster was made possible.
General public are once again requested not to share any confidential information such as their Card Number, ATM Pin or any other confidential information regarding their account with anybody as the bank officials never ask for such information.
Five held for hunting Green Pigeon

Port Blair, August 16: Five people have been arrested by the Forest Department on 15 August for illegally hunting Green Imperial Pigeons. It is learnt that on information a team of Forest Department headed towards Birchgunj and Goodwill Estate and arrested five persons for illegally hunting Green Imperial Pigeons, which comes under Schedule IV animal of wildlife protection Act.
It is learnt that the forest department is taking necessary action on this behalf. All the tools used for hunting the bird have been seized including Air Gun.
The team has also seized an Air Gun today, it is learnt. Higher authorities have also appealed the general public for not indulging in such illegal activities.
The Forest Department since quite few days is taking all necessary steps to stop this illegal hunting, which is an appreciated step by the department and its team.
One Arrested for raping a blind lady

Hut Bay, Aug 16: A 60 year old man of Swan Tekry of Little Andaman Island has been arrested this evening for raping a blind lady. As per details the 60 year old person, Mr. Bilaiya allegedly raped the blind lady, mother of two, this evening following which an FIR was lodged at around 7.00 pm today at Hut Bay Police Station.
Child injured in Hut Bay; 2 arrested
Port Blair, Aug 16: An incident of gunshot injury by an airgun to a minor girl by a minor boy while playing with it, was reported at Hut Bay, upon which a case vide crime No. 73/16 dt. 07/08/2016 u/s 338/34 IPC was registered at PS Hut Bay and the investigation was under taken.
During the course of investigation, the custodian of the gun and the shopkeeper who sold the airgun cartridge were arrested. The injured girl child was referred to G.B. Pant Hospital.
The involved juvenile in conflict with the law, who was a relative of the custodian of the gun, has been directed to appear before the Hon’ble Juvenile Court at Port Blair alongwith his guardian.
A&N Police cautions the parents and guardians to take care of hazardous/harmful items at home and to keep them away from the reach of the children and that they should instruct and guide their wards properly.
The parents and residents should keep an eye on any such dangerous activity of the children in the locality and inform police, if any suspicious activity is noticed.
Aberdeen Police Seizes 16 bottles of IMFL

Port Blair, August 09: The Aberdeen Police have seized around 16 bottles of Illicit Liquor from a person from Fisheries Jetty yesterday at around 5:30pm.
It is learnt that the excise team on information left for the spot and seized the 16 bottles from the person and took him into custody. It is learnt that later the person, whose name is yet not known, was released on bail.
Diglipur Teacher arrested for sexually abusing student

Diglipur, Aug 08: The Diglipur Police has arrested a teacher of local School for sexually abusing a XII Standard minor girl.
A case was registered against the said teacher yesterday after the girl and her parents lodged a complaint in the Diglipur Police Station against the teacher. As per the reports the student narrated 2-3 incidents to the Police.
It is learnt that the said teacher had left Diglipur after getting hints about a possible arrest but the Police Team of PS Diglipur today managed to arrest the teacher, Mr. Kumud Mandal, under POCSO Act. Later he was produced before a special court.
