Port Blair, September 08: Nearly 6 students including two girls of class XI (F) of Boys Senior Secondary School were found under influence of liquor at their class this afternoon.
Insiders of the school told Andaman Sheekha that some of the student complaint the matter to the Physical Education Teacher of the school about some students consuming alcohol at class XI (F), after which the teachers conducted a checking in the school where they found 6 students have consumed alcohol.
However, to know the truth and exact details Andaman Sheekha contacted the Principal of the School over phone, but she refused to give any information over phone.
Earlier Andaman Sheekha had published reports with photographs of students smoking cigarettes during school hours near school campus but that time also the school authority refused to accept this matter.
CID unit seizes huge quantity of Ganja from Haddo Port
Port Blair, September 08: A worthy job was done the CID unit this morning after they have arrested two persons with nearly 1 kilogram of Ganja at Haddo Port.
On information a team of CID under the overall supervision of Superintendent of Police and DySP, CID, Inspector Hari Narayan, Sub Inspector Deepak Mukherjee, ACS Anand, HC and Constable Suraj Kumar headed towards Haddo Jetty this morning at around 08:30 am and arrested two persons namely Mahavir Sagar Berwa, R/o Minne Bay and Showbik Mondol, R/o Chouldary with nearly 1 kg of Ganja.
As per sources, the said person started from Kolkata with the huge quantity of Ganja to Chennai and then started for Andaman in ship M V Swarajdweep. It is learnt that an FIR was registered at CCS and both the arrested persons have been sent to the Judicial Custody.
CID unit have been doing tremendous job in bursting Ganja racket and in many occasions the CID unit had seized huge quantity of Ganja.
Unidentified dead body of a man found at Indira Nagar Creek

Port Blair, September 06: An unidentified body of a man was found floating at Indira Nagar Creek near Guptapara this afternoon, the right leg of the body was reportedly missing, which hints towards crocodile byte.
But it is believed that the man might not be a victim of Crocodile attack but some kind of foul play. However, the Humphrygunj Police has sent the dead body to the G B Pant Hospital for Post Mortem.
The body of the man was learnt to be floating in the creek area since last two to three days. Further details are awaited.
Huge quantity of illicit liquor seized
Port Blair, Sept 4: Ensuring stringent crackdown on illegal activities and acting on a tip of information, South Andaman Police conducted a raid at South Point on 30.08.16 and seized 250 liters of Illicit Liquor contained in 10 plastic jerricanes & plastic bottles and also 10 bottles of 750 ml IMFL Co-Sealed. In this connection the accused lady, R/o South Point has been arrested and upon which, a case under relevant law has also been registered at PS Aberdeen. Investigation of the case is in progress. The general public have been requested to pass credible information of any illegal activity to the nearest police station or control room over telephone No.100, 232100, 232400. The identity of the informer will be kept secret.
Girl commits suicide by consuming poison

Port Blair, September 02: A girl resident at Guptapara, a student of first year Political Science in a local college, committed suicide by consuming poison on 31/08/2016, at her home.
The reason behind this extreme step is not yet known.
As per sources, the girl was admitted in the hospital on 31/08/2016, where she died this morning at GB Pant Hospital.
Aberdeen Police seizes 240 liters of Country liquor

Port Blair, August 30: The Special team of Aberdeen Police under the overall leadership of SHO, Aberdeen Police Station, Inspector Mahesh Yadav seized 240 liters of Country liquor from the house of Mrs Fareeda Bibi, R/o Shadipur, sources said.
On information about selling of illicit Country liquor at Shadipur the special team of Aberdeen Police conducted a raid at the house of the accused Mrs Baby Fareeda Bibi and seized around 240 liters of illicit Country liquor. The illicit Country liquor has been seized under excise regulation.
Hut Bay Police arrests one with huge quantity of Ganja

Little Andaman, August 28: The Hut Bay Police has arrested one person namely Mr Ghansham Singh S/o Narsingh Singh a resident of Cattle Gunj, Port Blair with huge quantity of Ganja from Netaji Nagar, Little Andaman this evening.
As per reports, Mr Ghansham Singh visited his in laws at Netaji Nagar, Little Andaman from Port Blair this afternoon with around 1.68 Kg Ganja.
It is learnt that when Mr Ghansham Singh was trying to sell the Ganja near Seashore of Sunderpur, close to the house of his in laws, a team of Police caught him red handed.
According to sources, the Hut Bay Police will produce him in the court on 30/08/2016 as there is no boat for Port Blair soon. Further details are awaited.
Gold worth several lakhs stolen from Wimberlygunj

Port Blair, August 24: Gold worth several Lakhs and some amount of cash have been stolen from a house at Wimberlygunj today.
As per sources, the owner of the house Mr Karthick has reported this matter at Bambooflat Police Station this evening.
A team of Bambooflat Police has already started the investigation, further details are awaited.
Two arrested for illegally transporting Animals

Port Blair, August 23: The Bambooflat Police today arrested two persons for illegally transporting animals.
As per reports, these two people were transporting nearly four cows and some Buffalos illegally from Baratang.
On information a team of Bambooflat Police intercepted the Van with animals near Jirkatang. Further details are awaited.
Mayabunder Police Seizes an abandoned Dinghy
