Huge Quantity of Illicit Liquor seized by a team of CID & CCS

Port Blair, Oct 06: Huge quantity of Indian Made Foreign Liquor has been seized by a team of CID & CCS this morning.

As per sources, 23 Liters of Country Liquor and around 80 bottles of IMFL was seized by the team after conducting a raid in the city.

It is also learnt that the team has arrested 7 persons for illegally selling liquor.

Sources also said that most of the raid was conducted in the Aberdeen Bazaar and Brookshabad. Out of seven arrested, three are the ladies who were illegally selling Country Liquor at Brookshabad.

The team of CID & CCS earlier conducted a raid at Aberdeen Bazaar and Nayagaon and seized huge quantity of liquor.

Ograbraj Police seizes 113 bottles of illicit liquor

Port Blair, Oct 06: The Ograbraj Police Station has seized nearly 113 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor from a Taxi at Lal Pahad near New Chouldary.

On information a team of Ograbraj Police under the overall supervision of the SHO Ograbraj, Inspector Rizuan Hassan, Sub-Inspector Randhir Singh, Constable Rakesh, Azhar, Sebastin and Inayat stopped the Taxi at Lal Pahad and seized huge quantity of Illicit Liquor.
As per reports, to curtail any untoward incident during the Durga Puja the Ograbraj Police is taking all necessary steps. The police team of Ograbraj is also conducting special checking under their overall jurisdiction, it is learnt.The Police team has also seized the taxi and arrested one person including the driver.

A case of crime against minor girl reported at PS Mayabunder

Port Blair, Sept 29: On 20.09.2016, a case Crime against Minor girl has been registered at PS Mayabunder. The crime had taken place few months back but no report was lodged by her family members. Later on the matter came in light in the hospital. The case has been registered under appropriate sections of law and being investigated by Inspr. Shabana Haneef, In-charge Women & Children Special Unit and Investigation Unit for Crime against Women and the accused has been arrested.

The general public of North & Middle Andaman District is hereby informed that Women & Children Special Unit and Investigation Unit for Crime against Women is functioning in the office of the Superintendent of Police, North & Middle Andaman District and they may seek assistance.

Besides SI Seema Bhowmick of PS Diglipur and SI Masuma Begum of PS Rangat are especially detailed with the Crime against Women & Children in Diglipur and Rangat Sub-Divisional respectively.

General public are also advised to seek assistance from Women & Child Help Desk functioning in each Police Station of North & Middle Andaman District for lodging reports/complaints/suggestions of Crime against Women & Children.

55 year old man booked for molesting 8 year old girl

Little Andaman, Sept 20: A 55-year-old man, Deputy Ranger by profession at Forest Corporation was arrested yesterday for allegedly molesting an 8-year-old child.

The accused reportedly molested the child in her house.

As per reports, the parents of the child are private workers and used be at work during the afternoon hours thus taking the opportunity the accused a neighbor of the victim’s family, entered the house and tried to molest the girl, when suddenly the mother of the child entered the house.

According to sources, the mother of the child reported the matter to the Hut Bay Police Station after which the accused was arrested under POCSO Act.

The Police has sent the accused to Port Blair this evening, where he will be produced in court.

Theft in Gram Panchayat Hutbay

The exact amount stolen is not yet known.
However, it is learnt that the Hutbay Police is putting all the efforts to catch the thief.

Special Team of PS Aberdeen raids Gambling den, 14 held

Port Blair, Sept 19: The Special Team of Police Station Aberdeen has raided a Gambling Den yesterday at Shadipur, Krishna Nagar and arrested nearly 14 persons involved in gambling.
The Police team has also recovered an amount of Rs 27000/- from them.
All of them were taken into the custody yesterday and has been produced in the court today, the sources said.

Three arrested under POCSO Act for raping minor girl

Port Blair, September 13: The Andaman and Nicobar Police today arrested three persons namely Jeet Singh, Ramesh and Enouse under POCSO Act for raping a minor girl, studying in a college.
The matter was reported to police by the parents of the Girl, when the girl did not return home at night, it is learnt.
According to initial input the girl was kidnapped by these three youths and was later taken to a house in Port Blair city, where the crime was committed.
However, police is investigating in all angles and initial investigation of police shows that this mighty might be a little different than the initial report but as the girl is minor and the girl did not return home whole night, the case of kidnapping and rape has been registered under POCSO Act.
However, as per source it is confirmed that the girl was raped.

Lambaline Man chops off wife’s leg following arguments

Port Blair, Sept 11: In a shocking incident on Saturday a former part time lecturer of a government college of North Andaman, chopped off the left leg of his wife following an argument.
According to details the accused, Milan Halder, who used to work as a part time lecturer at Mahatma Gandhi Government College, Mayabunder, North Andaman, on Saturday lost his cool after an argument with his wife and out of anger the accused took out a Machete and chopped off the left leg of his wife, Kadambini Biswas, a lawyer by profession.
Sources said that the accused also attacked on the right leg of his wife and caused major injuries.
Kadambini Biswas, a mother of two, also sustained major injuries on fingers of both the hands in the attack.
Nephew of Kadambini Biswas, a 17 year old, who was present on the spot, was also reportedly charged by the accused with Machete but he managed to escape and informed others.
Soon police team of PS Aberdeen under the leadership of SHO reached the spot and arrested the accused person. Taking prompt action the Police team which reached the spot first shifted the injured lady to the G B Pant Hospital.

The condition of Kadambani Biswas is said to be critical.

According to initial investigations the man used to doubt over the character of his wife, which triggered the argument yesterday afternoon and at around 2.00 PM he attacked his wife.

34 year old man slits woman’s throat at public place

Port Blair, September 11: A 34 year old man namely Mr Kartik Das has reportedly slit throat of a woman namely Alpana Mondol at Bhathubasthi, near Sabji Market today at around 06:30pm. The woman died before reaching the G B Pant Hospital, it is learnt.
As per reports, the woman was having Pani Puri at a petty shop near Sabji Market, Bhathubasthi when the man suddenly slit the throat of the woman using a knife.
The public present on the spot went on a deep shock looking at the man attacking the woman at the public place and started thrashing the man, looking at the crowd the PCR present at Bhathubasthi immediately reached the spot and controlled the situation and took the attacked woman immediately to the GB Pant Hospital.
On information a team of Tylerabad Police immediately reached the spot and took the attacker into their custody.
According to sources, the attacker had given his land to Mr Sudhansu Mondol, husband of Alpana Mondol for staying there but according to the attacker from the day he has given the land to them, he is experiencing misfortune.
It is also learnt that the wife of the attacker committed suicide 3 years ago because of which he was also under total depression.

Two Burmese poachers apprehended in North Andaman

Port Blair, Sept 9: Acting on information about sighting of a foreign dinghy with some foreign occupants near the coast of Interview Island on 21.08.16, Anti-Poaching operations were started involving teams from PS Mayabunder, MOC Kadamtala and IRBn personnel. A foreign Dinghy was recovered from Jhaon Nallah/creek in Interview Island on 22.08.16. Few other articles belongings to the foreign poachers were also recovered in the subsequent days. On 01.09.16 team led by SI Sawless Xess, I/c MOC Kadamtala successfully apprehended 02 Burmese namely 1) Ata Lai Say R/o La Pota and 2) Myn T Than R/o Myau Mya, Myanmar and they have been forwarded to PS CCS. Search operations for the apprehension of remaining poachers are currently underway at Interview Island with team from PS Mayabunder, MOC Kadamtala and IRBn personnel.
