Port Blair, Oct 23: On 17.10.2016 a credible information received by South Andaman Police at PS Humfrigunj, SI Pritam Behari SHO PS Humfrigunj along with Police party conducted a surprise checking of vehicles near Naya Sehar and one car bearing registration No. AN-01-K-3973 was intercepted and during its checking found 47 Kgs of Deer meat (Venison) was kept inside the car. The driver of the car namely Arun Prasad (22 yrs) R/o Naya Sehar was apprehended and the recovered venison along with car were seized on the spot under section 50 of Wild Life Protection Act 1972. Later the seized properties and apprehended person were handed over to Forest Officials, Manglutan Range for initiating further legal action.

Port Blair, Oct 23: On 16.10.2016, on receipt of information, a team of Police Station Aberdeen raided at Prem Nagar, Burning Yard and apprehended 06 persons namely (1) Manirul Sheikh (21 yrs) (2) Saidul Sarkar (26 yrs) (3) Sahalam Sardar (19 yrs) (4) Jairul Moula (23 yrs) (5) Alamgir (23 yrs) (6) Sabir Moula (30 yrs) All R/o Prem Nagar. They were arrested on 16-10-2016 at 0040 hrs U/s 5/7 A&N Gambling Reg. 1951 vide Challan No. 24/16 and recovered cash Rs. 4,790/- including board money Rs 3,810/- and 52 Nos. playing cards.

Further on the same day, on receipt of information, a team of Police Station Aberdeen raided at School Line, Ranchi Basthi and apprehended 06 persons namely (1) Elias Kundia (19 yrs) R/o Attom Pahar (2) Rajesh Munda (26 yrs) R/o Ranchi Basthi, School Line (3) Sanjay Kumar Munda (23 yrs) R/o Ranchi Basthi, School Line (4) Ranjit (33 yrs) R/o Ranchi Basthi, School Line (5) Jagan Munda (42 yrs) R/o Ranchi Basthi, School Line (6) Tapan Halder (37 yrs) R/o Ranchi Basthi, School Line . They were arrested on 16.10.2016 at 0210 hours U/s 5/7 A&N Gambling Reg. 1951 vide Challan No. 25/16 and recovered cash Rs. 9,500/- including board money Rs 6,660/- and 52 Nos. playing cards.

Port Blair, Oct 18: In pursuance of ensuring zero tolerance against illegal activities a team of South Andaman Police, raided on 11.10.2016 at Panighat, Bambooflat and arrested 04 persons namely 1) K. Tirupathi Rao (36 yrs) 2) M. Ghatoj (58 yrs) 3) B. Rama Rao (59 yrs) 4) K. Rama Rao (58 yrs) all R/o Panighat and recovered Rs. 4320/- under section 5/7 A&N Gambling Regulation 1956.

Port Blair, Oct 18: Huge quantity of Deer Meat was seized by the Humphrygunj Police yesterday. It is learnt that around 47 Kilogram of Deer Meat was seized yesterday at Nayasaher area.
The team has also seized the Car from which the Deer Meat was found. One person has been arrested for this crime.
The Raid was conducted by a team constituting of Home Guard Shreemati Naik, Head Constable Chandra Babu, PC Gauranga Pandey, PC Prakash Singh, PC Tata Rao, PC Jerome Advet, LPC Shahida Banu under the overall supervision of SHO Humphrygunj, Inspector Pritam Bihari.
