Port Blair, October 08: Strict Vigilance of the Police Personnel of Ograbraj Police Unit has yet again succeeded to burst a gambling den in the intervening night of 6th and 7th October from Bejan Basthi, Namunaghar.
As per reports, on a tip off, Inspector Shabana Haneef, SHO, Ograbraj Police Unit, Sub-Inspector Randhir Singh, PC Mohammed Azhar, PC Vinoy Kumar, PC RB Singh, HG Ganesh Lall, HG Anil Kumar raided the spot at Bejan Basthi and seized around Rs 4900 as board money.
Kumar Ram, R/o Namunaghar, Sudhir Bhagwar, R/o Namunaghar, R.Ramu, R/o Namunaghar and Zubair Hussain, R/o Namunaghar were arrested from the gambling den. The Police Unit has taken appropriate action against them, it is learnt.
Cash along with a Laptop Stolen from Goalghar

Port Blair, October 03: A theft case was reported today at a shop namely Aarom Batteries situated at Goalghar. According to sources, more than Rs 70-80,000 cash and a laptop have been stolen from the shop. Sources told Andaman Sheekha that this morning at around 07:30am when the owner and the workers of the shop came to open the shop they found the lock of the shop already broken.
Sources said that when the Owner as well the workers entered inside the shop they found the cash as well as the Office Laptop were missing following which they immediately reported the matter to the Aberdeen Police Station.
On information a team of Aberdeen Police Unit reached the spot and started the investigation. Sources further said that the Aberdeen Police Unit has registered a theft case in this regard and further investigation is on. Andaman Sheekha also learnt that the thieves also tried to break inside nearby two shops but they failed to do so.
Case under POCSO Act registered at Billyground

Billyground:, Sep 24: The PS Billyground police registered a POCSO case today. The accused aged about 40 years is a Labourer at Panchawati. The person who is the neighbor of that victim girl used to allegedly sexually assault the 11 years school going girl, since last one year.
The girl intimated the matter to the school authorities today who in turn complained to the police.
On receipt of complaint the police swung into action and registered the matter under POCSO act and arrested the accused. He will be produced in Spl Court at Port Blair tomorrow. The police is investigating the matter further.
PS Billyground recovers 3.1 KG deer horns

Billyground Sep 24: The PS Billyground police has recovered 5 Nos deer horns weighing 3.1 KG from a person namely Paritosh Sarkar S/o Sudhir Sarkar aged about 40 years R/o Prafulla nagar of Billyground on Sunday 24 Sep. After the intimation from the Police Department the Forest department is yet to take any action from their side to collect the horns and initiate enquiry.
Moped Stolen from Lambaline Area

Port Blair, September 25: A Moped was stolen early this morning from the house of a youth a resident of Citizen Colony, Lambaline.
As per reports, the stolen Moped is Grey in Color and bearing registration number ANO1H6462.
The matter was reported to the Aberdeen Police Station this morning by the owner.
As per latest reports, the Police is investigating the case but till now has got no leads. Cases of two wheeler thefts are on a rise in the city, many believes.
Minor girl kidnapped and abused

Port Blair, August 24: A 12 year old girl learnt to be a resident of South Andaman region was kidnapped and abused by a 25 year old Auto Driver, yesterday.
As per reports, the girl went missing since yesterday after her school hours and she didn’t returned back till this morning. Today morning, worried mother of the girl went in search of her daughter and she found her outside the school following which the mother of the girl took her to the Ograbraj Police Unit.
According to sources, the girl was picked up by the Auto Driver and he took her somewhere in a room and kept her in the room the entire night.
As per the information received, the Ograbraj Police Unit then registered a case of Kidnapping and molestation against the Auto Driver and in no time the Station House Officer, Inspector Shabana Haneef and her team arrested the accused. It is learnt that the accused will be produced in the Court tomorrow. Further, details in the case is still awaited.
Huge Quantity of Banned Tobacco Products seized

Port Blair, August 24: The Billyground Police Unit has seized around 100 packets of Contraband tobacco yesterday.
As per reports, two persons namely Seikh Tahir R/o Betapur and Basudev Halder R/o Kaushalyanagar has secretly brought these huge quantity of Contraband tobacco from Rangat to sell it in to the Billyground Market separately.
But the active vigilance of PS Billyground, both were caught in red handed at Billyground Market area yesterday night.
As per sources, 10 Packets of Bhagvan Zarda was seized from Seikh Tahir and 90 Packets (each packet 40gm) was seized from the possession of Basudev Halder.
Later the Police team handed over the accused and seized Tobacco products to the Food Safety Officer, Mayabunder for taking appropriate action against the accused.
Mother & lover arrested for murdering 19 year old daughter

Mayabunder, August 21: A 19 yr old college student of Mahatma Gandhi Govt College, Mayabunder was murdered at her residence at village Tugapur-8, Mayabunder early this morning.
As per local report the victim named Ganga Dhali D/o Ramakrishna Dhali was stabbed to death by her mother Rita Dhali aged 33 years and her lover Amrito Halder age 36 yrs at her residence.
As per report, the victim allegedly witnessed the illicit affair of her mother with her lover that night and had threatened that she will tell her father about the affair, consequently both her mother and lover planned and sliced her neck with machete when she was asleep.
Both the accused accepted their crime in front of the police at Mayabunder Police station and were subsequently arrested. The case was professionally cracked by team of Police Station Mayabunder under the leadership of SHO PS Mayabunder Aditya Narayan, under overall supervision of Dy.S.P Mayabunder, George Lalu.
Yet another POCSO case registered at Diglipur

Radhanagar, Aug 20: A POCSO case has been registered at Diglipur Police Station today. As per the details available here, a 13 years old girl became pregnant following physical relationship with a person of Radhanagar.
Although the person and the 13 year old girl married each other, after the incident but parents of both, rejected the marriage.
Finally the couple reported the matter in Police Chowki of Radhanagar from where the matter was finally reported to PS Diglipur. As per details, the PS Diglipur has now registered a POCSO matter in this regard and further investigations are on.
Youth makes minor girl pregnant; arrested under POCSO Act

Port Blair, August 02: A youth has been arrested by the Tylerabad Police Station reportedly on 31 July, 2017 for making a 16 year old girl pregnant.
According to details, when this matter came into the knowledge of the parents of the minor, the parents informed the matter to the Police.
It is learnt that the youth made physical relationship with the girl in his friend’s house situated at Bhathubasti following which the case is registered in the Tylerabad Police Station. The accused has also been produced in the Court and has been sent to the JC remand. Further details are awaited.
