Rape of minor girl reported: Brother-in-Law arrested

Madhupur, Diglipur, July 14: A resident of Madhupur, who is working as a private labourer was arrested today on the charges of raping his sister-in-law by the police at Diglipur.
As per the reports the Minor girl, was presently residing at Madhupur Ward -2 with her father. The accused was also residing nearby in a rented room.
When some Mahila Mandal ladies noticed that the girl is not going to school since few months they reported the matter to the police. In her statement to the police she revealed that the Brother-in-Law was involved in physical relations with her since last three months. The police arrested the accused and tomorrow the accused will be produced in a special court at Port Blair.

Murder at Car Nicobar; One arrested for killing Brother-in-Law

Car Nicobar, June 28: The police department has arrested one person from Tapoiming Village of Car Nicobar for killing his own brother-in-law.
According to report, the deceased Mr. Sarfaraj, 38 yrs was resting in his house, when his brother-in-law Hemmaat, 26 years, returned home after watching a football match at around 5 PM.
Mr. Sarfaraj was very angry over the fact that Mr. Hemmaat took his bike and did not return on time. When Mr. Hemmaat returned home there was an argument on this issue, after which Mr. Hemmaat reportedly picked up a Machete and assaulted Mr. Sarfaraj.
As the house of Mr. Sarfaraj was far away from main road, it took more than one hour to bring Mr. Sarfaraj to hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries, due to excessive blood flow.
The Police Department reportedly arrested the accused immediately and registered a Murder Case. Further details are awaited.

Brookshabad Panshop Owner arrested for sexually abusing minor

Port Blair, June 26: A 44 year old Shopkeeper of Brookshabad area was arrested by police on Sunday for allegedly sexually abusing a minor girl. According to report an 11 year old girl had come to the shop for purchasing something but she found that the shop is closed. Meanwhile, the shopkeeper who was living behind the shop reportedly saw the girl and called her inside her room, where according to the minor girl, the shopkeeper molested her and tried to commit sexual offense.
The minor girl however managed to run out of the room and was also able to lock the room from outside and raise alarm. Soon a case was registered against the shopkeeper and he was arrested after thorough investigation under POCSO Act. The accused has already been sent to Judicial Custody by the court.

36 years old arrested for stealing women’s undergarments

Port Blair, June 05: Mr. Pradeep Kumar, a resident of Uttar Pradesh, presently working as labourer at Calicut area, was arrested by police yesterday for stealing large number of women’s undergarments from neighbourhood.
As per detail the serial underwear stealer is obsessed with stealing women’s undergarments and storing the same in his barrack, which he shares with other labourers.
The matter came into light when a resident of the Calicut area caught him red handed, when the accused broke into his house, to steal an underwear. The matter was immediately communicated to police and during investigation he first maintained that he stole all undergarments for wearing but later he reportedly admitted that he is obsessed with stealing undergarments for fantasy.
Police recovered huge number of undergarments from the possession of the accused it is learnt.
As per reports the accused has been arrested for burglary and later sent to Judicial Remand by Court.

Bus hits Car at Lamba Line, No major Injuries

Port Blair, May 11: In a minor accident this morning at Lamba Line a private bus hit a car, which in turn hit a tourist cab, after rotating nearly 180 degree horizontally. It is reported that a tourists sitting inside the tourist vehicle suffered minor injuries in nose while the car driver suffered minor injuries in hand. Luckily no one suffered any major injuries in this accident but the accident caused major traffic jam in the area.

Diglipur youth arrested for raping minor

Diglipur, Mar 16: In yet another POCSO case of Diglipur region, a 23 year old resident of Navin Nagar has reportedly raped a minor girl, who is his relative. After rape the accused reportedly threatened her not to disclose this matter to anyone.
After two months once again finding her alone near the river he again raped her. Fearing pregnancy she disclosed the matter to one of her relatives and then to her mother. When the family went to hospital, the pregnancy was confirmed.
Parents of the minor girl immediately filed an FIR at PS Diglipur. As per details, the PS Diglipur has now registered a POCSO matter in this regard and further investigations are on. It is learnt that the accused has been arrested and produced in Special Court from where he has been sent to Judicial Custody.

Port Blair, Jan 30: A theft case has been reported from the Kali Mandir of Diglipur Island. According to reports, the priest of the Temple, situated next to SBI, today noticed some cash on the floor and following suspicion, he reported this matter to the Police.
As per detail, after the complaint, the police team of PS Diglipur, under leadership of SHO Inspector Mahesh Kumar, solved the case within few hours and arrested Mr. Surojit Mondal, resident of Subhash Gram. The police team recovered Rs. 5000 from his possession.

POCSO case registered against one after neighbors sighted him re-entering inside the house of victim

Port Blair, Jan 29: A POCSO case was registered against a youth after the neighbors of the victim sighted him entering into the house of the victim.
As per reports, the accused was arrested few months ago for in case of POCSO against the same 16 year old girl but later he was released by the Police when mother of the victim took the complaint back but again when the accused was seen entering inside the house of the victim, the neighbors reported it to the victims’ family and later the accused was arrested. Further details are awaited.

Rape case filed against ASI; Accused Absconding

Diglipur, Jan 25: An Assistant Sub Inspector of Police Radio, who was posted at Kadamtala, is said to be absconding after a case of rape was filed against him at Diglipur Police Station.

As per allegation, the accused was in a relationship with a girl of a remote village of Radhanagar Gram Panchayat at Diglipur and had reportedly promised to marry her.

Later with the consent of the both the families, the marriage date was fixed for 24th Jan 2018 but later the girls’ family realized that the groom’s family is not taking any interest in marriage programme till 22 January 2018. Upset with such attitude, the family filed an FIR at PS Diglipur leveling rape charges on the ASI.

Now whole family of the boy is said to be underground after the FIR. The girl was brought to Mayabunder court to for statement recording today. Police is investigating the matter further.

Parents, Doctors find minor girl pregnant; Accused Arrested

Diglipur, 18 Jan: A POCSO case came to light at Diglipur yesterday, the 17th January 2018 when a 16 years girl went for checkup at CHC Diglipur and during checkup it was found that the girl is pregnant.
As per the details available she was in a relationship with a 24 years person of Subhashgram area.
As she is minor, they were asked by the parents to hold the marriage for now, but as per details, they used to meet, because of which she got pregnant.
A case has been registered at PS Diglipur under POCSO Act.
The accused was arrested today and he will be produced before the court tomorrow.
