Port Blair, Mar 28: In a shocking development two dead bodies were found inside a Furniture Shop of Middle Point in a pool of blood. Both the victim girls were working in the shop and have been identified as Padma Priya, 22 years, a resident of Garacharma and Rosecynthia, 31 years old, a resident of Shadipur.
As per initial inputs two youths reportedly entered inside the shop as customer and attacked Rosecynthia. Later when Padma Priya reached the scene, she was also attacked.
As per CCTV footages available with police the murder was committed somewhere around 3.30 PM.
Dr. A.K.Das , duty medical officer, GB Pant Hospital said that around 4.30 pm two dead bodies of young unmarried girls was brought, it seems that they have died before arriving at the hospital, so it is clear that it’s a brought dead case.
“Both the bodies have more than 10 stab injuries with sharp knife, cause of death is over blood loss and hemorrhage shocks, there were no struggle signs,” Dr. Das added.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha the SP of South Andaman Mr. Deepak Yadav said that police department has identified two youths and search for them is on.
Sources inside police department said that the police team is confident of cracking this case very soon. It is suspected that more people might be involved in this case, further investigations are on.
Two arrested with more than 1 KG of Ganja

Port Blair, Feb 12: The new team of PS CCS unit is continuously working out cases of Ganja under NDPS Act, in city, bringing hopes for many Islanders.
In a fresh case this morning the CCS team raided a car near Chouldari and recovered nearly 1 KG 100 Grams of Ganja from the possession of Mr. Abhijeet Biswas, a Police Constable. During the raid Mr. Rakesh Pandey who was accompanying Mr. Abhijeet Biswas was also arrested by the CCS team. The team also reportedly recovered weighing machine from the car. Both the accused were produced to court today from where they were sent to Judicial Custody.
18 year old commits suicide

Rangat, Nov 20: A person namely, Mr. Kalipada Mondal S/o Kamal Mondal, age 18 years, a resident of Harishpur, 24 Paragana, West Bengal working in a private construction company at Middle Andaman, committed suicide behind APWD office at Bakultala on 19 November 2018 by hanging itself from a tree. The reason for this extreme step is not yet known.
Two Including a Female, Arrested for Drug Peddling; 1.115 Kg Ganja Recovered
Port Blair, Nov 20: The special task force of South Andaman District constituted to curb menace of Ganja has again succeeded in making arrest of two drug peddlers namely Sheikh Suleman @ Batti and a female Arthy Trivedi @ Rozy R/o Chandni Chowk South Point in NDPS case. Illegal Ganja weighing 1.115 Kg has also been recovered from their possession.
On 15/11/2018, credible information was received from a police informer that the relative of recently arrested drug peddler Sheikh Suleman is having Ganja and is planning to sell to the potential customers.
Immediately, the special task force comprising SI Surjeet Bhattacharjee, HC/633 V. Hentho, PC/2105 M. Ashok Kumar PC/1047 Jayanta Biswas, PC/ 1019 Manoj Kumar Yadav, PC/3015 D. Shiv Kumar, PC/2622 Suresh, PC/1624 Vinod Liniya, LPC/368 Savika Xalxo led by Inspr. Arun Kumar Singh, SHO PS Aberdeen, was activated under the supervision of SDPO (SA) Shri Nishant Gupta to lay the trap.
A decoy customer from the team contacted the accused for selling Ganja. On getting signal the team immediately raided the spot, where the accused persons namely Sheikh Suleman S/o Shri Sheikh Safiul (25 yrs) R/o Chandni Chowk, South Point and Ms. Arthy Trivedi D/o Shri Joy Gope Trivedi (21 yrs) R/o Chandni Chowk, South Point were found in possession of 1.115 Kg Ganja.
They were arrested under section 20(b)(ii)(B) NDPS Act, 1985 in FIR No. 638/18 Aberdeen Police Station. They were produced before the concerned court which remanded them for judicial custody. The punishment for the said offence is imprisonment up to 10 years and fine up to Rs. one lakh.
On perusal of crime record of PS Aberdeen, it was found that the accused person Sheikh Suleman s/o Shri Sheikh Safiul (25) yrs R/o Chandni Chowk, South Point is a habitual offender and been involved in drug peddling and other criminal activities in the following cases at PS Aberdeen and PS CCS:
- PS Aberdeen FIR No. 607/16 u/s 447/452/427/504/506/34 IPC
- PS Aberdeen FIR No. 87/18 u/s 279/338 IPC
During interrogation the accused revealed that he has been procuring the illicit Ganja from Kolkata via sea route and has recently roped in the co-accused Arthy to sell the illicit drugs.
The general public is also requested to share/ pass any information with Police so that such anti-social elements are apprehended. The information can be shared via numbers 03192-232100, 03192-232400 and 9434288673. The informer will be suitably rewarded and his/her identity will be kept secret.
Illicit Liquor recovered from Jungle by PS Kadamtala; One arrested

Port Blair, Nov 20: Today a police team of PS Kadamtala consisting with SI Anik Das, HC AP lakra, PC Rakesh Kr. Halder, PC Yesuraj and PC Sukhram Horo conducted jungle search for illicit liquor in Broomvalley, Kadamtala area. In the search approx 120 ltrs of lehan for illicit liquor and 4.5 ltrs prepared illicit liquor was found. The lehan was destroyed at spot and illicit liquor along with accused Govindo Mondal S/o Late Narayan Mondal 59 yrs, cultivator, resident of Broomvalley, Kadamtala was brought to PS Kadamtala and FIR under relevant sections was registered against him. It is learnt that later accused was released on bail.
Yet another Rape case registered at Diglipur

Shanti Nagar, Diglipur, Sep 11: Yet another rape case has been registered at Diglipur today. As per sources on Saturday 8th September a 16 year minor girl was allegedly raped by a 23 year old youth, when parents of the girl went out to Diglipur Bazaar, which is far away from Shantipur village.
As per details, some people who were passing by, heard the screams of the girl and caught the accused red handed.
When parents of the girl returned to home on Sunday, they decided to report the matter to the police.
Today morning they reportedly reached the PS Diglipur for filing the complaint. The accused was reportedly arrested by the Police. Further details are awaited.
Teacher posted at Swadesh Nagar arrested on the charges of rape

Port Blair, Aug 30: A Primary School Teacher of Swadesh Nagar region has been arrested by police under section IPC 376 (Rape). As per reports the teacher was produced before the CJM Court at Mayabunder today from where he has been sent to Judicial Custody for 14 days.
The arrest was made based on complaint by a 20 year old girl of Middle Andaman who alleged that the said PST was in a live-in relationship with her since last three years. She alleged that even after assuring to marry her, the PST married someone else, while she was sent to mainland India by the teacher for studies. Further details are awaited.
Huge amount of Liquor bottles seized at Billyground
Port Blair, Aug 26: Under the supervision of Mr Rangarajan, SHO,PS Billyground, 55 number of 750ml IMFL liquor bottles have been seized and cases have been registered against five persons for illegal transporting of liquors.
In first case, on 2nd August, a person namely Mr. S.K.Yunus Ali S/o Taharat Ali aged 39 years R/o Danapur who was coming from Mayabunder was checked by police. During the search 35 number of 750 ML liquor bottles were recovered from his possession, for which there were no receipt.
On the same day another 4 persons have also been arrested for illegally transporting IMFL liquor (5 bootless each = total 20 bottles) by STS Bus from Mayabunder. The four persons were Shri Milon Krishna Roy S/o Late Atindra Roy R/o Bakultala, Shri Milon Halder S/o Subal Halder R/o Pokadera, Mayabunder, Smti D. Laxmi W/o D.Janaki Rao R/o Bakultala and Smti Goramma W/o Sithaiya R/o Bakultala.
POCSO case registered at Diglipur
Diglipur, Aug 19:The Police team of PS Diglipur today arrested a 22 years resident of Havelock under POSCO Act.
As per the details available the accused who is resident of Havelock Island went to Diglipur to the residence of his girlfriend for submitting marriage proposal to the girl’s parents . As the Girl a class XI student was minor, her parents asked the couple to wait till she attain the marriage age. During seven days stay at the Girl’s residence the accused managed to establish physical relation with that girl. The incident came to light on 17 Aug 18 when the girl visited the hospital for checkup.Since medical checkup confirmed the Girl’s pregnancy, the Police team acted promptly and booked the accused under POCSO Act .Further investigations in this regard is in progress.
Teen Pregnancy at Billyground; One arrested

Billyground, July 18: A case under POCSO Act has been registered at PS Billyground today against a 26 year old boy of Jaipur village of Middle Andaman for allegedly impregnating a minor girl.
As per reports, the boy was in love with a girl aged 17 years and 8 months and the parents of both, boy and the girl were also aware of this matter. As the girl is a minor, both the families were planning to solemnize their marriage after few months, once the girl attains 18 years.
But when for some health related issue the girl reached PHC Billyground, doctors detected teen pregnancy and the matter was reported to the Police Department.
Police later arrested the boy after confirmation and necessary medical examination under POCSO Act. The boy will be sent to a special court at Port Blair it is learnt.
