Port Blair, May 04: Intensifying the continuous crackdown on illegal sale of liquor and bootlegging, South Andaman District Police seized 301 bottles of IMFL and arrested four bootleggers.
On 01.03.2020 SI Gaurav Benerjee, SHO Chatham alongwith South Andaman District Special Team comprising of SI M. Abdul Rasheed, ASI Surya Narayan, Constables Bipul Halder, M. Santosh Kumar and Nandita Mistry have conducted raid at Buniyadabad area and recovered 58 bottles of IMFL from the possession of C. Robert (40 yrs.) r/o Buniyadabad.
On 03.03.2020 Insp. Mahesh Kumar Yadav, SHO Pahargaoan along with South Andaman District Special Team comprising of SI M. Abdul Rasheed, ASI Surya Narayan, Constables Bipul Halder, M. Santosh Kumar and Nandita Mistry have conducted raids at Bathu Basti and Prothrapur area and recovered 141 bottles of IMFL from the possession of K. Jayashankar (41 yrs.) r/o Bhatubasti and Kanna Rajan (36 yrs.) r/o Prothrapur.
On 03.03.2020, the team of PS Aberdeen led by Insp. Sanjay Kumar, SHO PS Aberdeen comprising SI P. Jeevan, HC Sunil Singh Yadav, PCs, Suresh & Vinod Linya conducted raid at South Point Machi Line and recovered a total 102 Nos. of IMFL bottles from the possession of accused namely M. Murgeshan S/o Late R. Magalingam R/o South Point, Machi Line, Port Blair.
The entire operation took place under Ms. Sandhya Swamy, IPS, SDPO South Andaman under the overall direction and supervision of Mr. Manoj C., IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District. The public is requested to share information about illegal brewing and sale of illicit liquor and narcotic drugs with Police so that such anti-social elements are brought to justice. Such information may be provided at 112, 100, 03192-232100 & 03192-232400 for swift action. The identity of the informer will be kept secret.
Burmese Dinghy Sighted near Jackson Creek, Little Andaman

Port Blair, Mar 02: A Burmese dinghy has been sighted near Jackson Creek of Little Andaman yesterday following which a team of PS Hut Bay reached the area and seized the dinghy and all ration items, kept inside the dinghy.
According to details the Burmese Poachers had reportedly ran inside the forest and hence they could not be arrested. However, a search operation has been launched by PS Hut Bay team to arrest the poachers.
Rangat Police Solves Burglary Case within 24 Hours of Registration of FIR; Makes 100 % Recovery
Port Blair, Feb 27: Acting swiftly on the complaint of burglary at Bakultala the police team of Rangat arrested one accused person namely Rahul Sarder R/o Ulidera, Shyamkund, Rangat on 24/02/2020 and recovered all the stolen articles.
On 23/02/2020 a complaint was received from Bakultala that an unknown person has broken the house and stole away the gold jewellery from the house, since the house owner were gone to their relatives house. In absence of house owner the accused broke open the main door during night hours and stolen away the gold ornament which was kept inside the Almirah by breaking the lock of the Almirah. On receipt of this complaint an FIR was registered and a special team was constituted immediately comprising of Inspr. Usman Ali, SHO PS Rangat, SI Parvesh, HC D. K Singh, PCs Nishit Das and Mohd.Rafique of PS Rangat under the close supervision of Mr. R. K Sharma, SDPO Rangat. By interrogating a number of suspects and deploying informers, the team solved the burglary case and succeeded to recover all stolen articles worth value of approx. Rs. 35,000/- within 24 hours of registration of FIR and arrested the accused person namely Rahul Sarder R/o UlideraShyamkund, Rangat. The accused was booked under the relevant section of law and produced before the Hon’ble Court for further action.

A ton of 750ml bottles seized by PS Humfrygunj

Port Blair, Feb 27: On 25.2.2020 an information from reliable sources was received that a huge quantity of IMFL is being transported on NH4 in a white Honda Amaze car and the police team of SI Shubham Ghosh and PC Aurangazeb under leadership of SHO Inspector Aditya Narayan PS Humfrygunj was formed and while checking the vehicles near water sports complex a car bearing no AN01N 8716 was intercepted and on checking the vehicle 102 sealed bottles of 750 ml Mysore Lancer Co. was recovered and seized on the spot from one Mr Selvendran S/o Periyaswamy, R/o Naya Shehar.
It is learnt that this car was seized in January too carrying illegal liquor by special district team but this huge quantity seized by PS Humfrygunj is getting appreciation by general public of their tactful approach towards irradiation of illegal liquor in the jurisdiction.
South Andaman Police Cracks Down on Illegal IMFL and Arrest 01 Person With Recovery of 102 IMFL Bottles
Port Blair, Feb 26: On 25/02/2020 information was received from reliable source that an unknown person is transporting huge quantity of IMFL from sippighat. Immediately, a team headed by Inspr. Aditya Narayar, SHO PS Humfrigunj along with SI Shubahm Ghosh & PC Aurangzeb Ahmed swung into action and without wasting any time, the team reached at Sippighat near Water Sport Complex. During random checking of vehicle, a suspected car bearing Regn. No. AN01 N8716 was intercepted and thoroughly checked, which resulted recovery of 102 Nos. IMFL Bottles from the possession of person namely Selvendran S/o Mr. P. Periyaswamy, 23 Yrs, Pvt. Driver R/o Nayasahar.
The entire operation took place under Mr. Ajay Kumar Rai, DANIPS, SDPO Bambooflat under the overall direction and supervision of Mr. Manoj C., IPS, Superintendent of police, South Andaman District. The general public is requested to share information pertaining to any crime or other illegal activities to police at 112, 03192-232100& 03192-233077. ONE POCSO CASE REGISTERED AT CAMPBELL BAY
Great Nicobar, Feb 02: In a yet another sad incident, a girl of around 14 years has been raped by her step father on 31st January, 2020 at Campbell Bay.
As per reports, the victim usually stay with her maternal aunt after the second marriage of her mother but few days back the victim went to see her mother, who is sick.
As per sources, on 31st Jan, 2020 when the victim started for school from her mother’s house, her step father asked her to sit on his bike and told her that he will drop her to school but instead of dropping her to school, the step father turned the direction of the two- wheeler in a forest and committed rape with 14 year old.
It is learnt that after committing the rape the step father dropped the victim to the school and left. However, the attentive teachers in the school analyzed the terror in the victim’s face and when they quizzed the girl, the girl disclosed the reality.
According to sources, the matter was then reported in the Campbell Bay Police Station and after the entire days search the police failed to trace the culprit.
According to Police sources, next day morning on 01st Feb, 2020, the culprit himself called the Campbell Bay Police and admitted the crime, he did and also got ready to surrender but while he was on his way to the Police Station to surrender himself, he met with an accident.
The accused is currently hospitalized at CHC Campbell Bay and it is learnt that the Police will take him into custody after he recovers from the injuries.
One arrested in POCSO Case

Port Blair, Jan 12: In yet another case of pregnancy of a minor girl, the police team of PS Pahargaon arrested one minor boy on Saturday for impregnating a minor girl.
However, in this case it is learnt that both the minor boy and girl are from Jharkhand where they used to live like husband and wife as they don’t have parents. It is reported that they hail from such remote place of Jharkhand, where there is no awareness about child marriage.
Sources said that after reaching Andaman also they used to live together and the boy used to work as labourer. But when the girl was found pregnant Doctors had to report this matter to police as per law and police had to arrest the minor boy.
Unidentified body found from Tylerabad

Port Blair, Apr 23: An unidentified body was found from Tylerabad area of South Andaman this morning. According to details the body of the youth was found near a culvert. No document, which can establish his identity, could be found from his pockets. According to sources, there were no injuries in his body but police got liquor smell, which might be the reason behind the death. Police has registered a case in this regard and trying to identify the body.
One Arrested for Sexually assaulting Minor Boy in Diglipur

Port Blair, Apr 09: One person has been arrested by the police unit of Diglipur for sexually assaulting an 11 year old minor boy. According to report the accused is a door to door fast food vendor and a resident of Madhupur. The accused somehow took the minor boy in his home and committed the crime. Later when the boy reported this matter to family member the accused was arrested under POCSO Act and 377 IPC for unnatural sex. The minor boy reportedly suffered physical injuries.
Attempt to Murder at Shadipur; Cop comes for rescue

Port Blair, Mar 20: Adding to the growing cases of violence in Port Blair city, one more case of attempt to murder has been reported today from Shadipur Junction area of Port Blair this afternoon.
According to the sources Shankar Karmakar, son of Joydev Karmakar a resident of Shadipur was attacked by a man named Kartick at Shadipur Junction opposite CCS. Kartick was reportedly holding a Machete.
Mr. Shankar got injuries on his head, behind the neck, left hand and left eyebrow. He reportedly received a total of 13 stitches, when he was sent for treatment. The motive behind the attack is said to be personal dispute. The victim was admitted in the GB Pant hospital.
As per public, at the time of attack, luckily Mr. Jagdishwar Rao, Inspector CID branch, was crossing the area. Seeing officer in uniform public approached him and immediately Mr. Jagdishwar Rao intervened. When the attacker saw a cop in uniform he tried to escape but Mr. Jagdishwar Rao caught him. By the mean time a PCR Van reached the spot following calls from public. The matter was then handed over the PCR staffs and police is presently investigating the matter further.
This is one such case, where right person reached right place right on time, otherwise Port Blair city might have witnessed another broad daylight murder. Meanwhile, it is learnt that a case of attempt to murder has been registered against the accused.
