Tamil Nadu Coast, Nov 25: In the past two years Anti-National Elements involved in narcotics smuggling are trying to infiltrate narcotic drug (Heroin) through Indian coast. ICG received credible information from intelligence agencies regarding an illegal consignment of narcotic drugs (Heroin) going to be smuggled in India through sea route. The information further revealed that the consignment is being transhipped through a Sri Lankan boat. Indian Coast Guard deployed five ships for the operation to apprehend the smugglers and seized the contraband.
ICG ships carried out extensive search for the suspected boat in the most probable area as per the intelligence input. Two ICG aircraft were also continuously deployed to augment sea-air coordinated search. Post extensive well planned search in the area, extending since 17 Nov 2020, suspicious Sri Lankan boat was identified south of Thoothukudi on 24 Nov 20. ICGS Vaibhav stealthily followed the boat, and carried out boarding at the opportune moment at about 10 NM off Kanyakumari in the evening of 24 Nov 20. Search of the suspicious boat revealed 99 packets of heroin, 20 boxes of synthetic drugs, five 9 mm pistols and a thuraya satellite phone set. The drugs and weapons were unearthed since hidden in an unapproachable location in the boat. During initial questioning, the crew members revealed that the drugs were transferred onto Sri Lankan vessel ‘Shenaya Duwa’ on the high seas by a Pakistani dhow from Karachi. The drugs meant to be sent to western countries and Australia. The joint interrogation of the apprehended 06 crew members will be undertaken on vessel reaching Tuticorin. Indian Coast Guard is committed to thwart any attempt to smuggle contraband, drug and weapon into our country.

Diglipur, November 25: On a Following tip-off, a team of Diglipur Police Unit headed by Sub-Inspector Manoj Lall along with PC Krishna Kumar and LPC Rubi raided the house of Bittaranjan Das at Kalipur yesterday and seized a carton of Indian Made Foreign Liquor.
As per the sources, a huge quantity of Hundia was also seized from the spot. It is learned that cash amounting to thousand was recovered from the spot which the bootlegger received by selling his liquor. A relevant case was registered against the accused.

Port Blair, Nov 24: Yesterday a POCSO case was registered at PS Rangat, Middle Andaman. As per detail on complaints of the parents that a 28 year old youth of Rampur area harassed a minor girl, the arrest was made.
Following complaints, the SHO reportedly formed a team under the guidance of SDPO, Rangat and close supervision of SP, N & M Andaman.
The accused was apprehended by the police team within few hours and the accused reportedly also confessed his guilt. After due medical examination the accused have been produced today before the CJM Court at Mayabunder and from there the accused was sent for14 day judicial custody.
Poachers apprehended with barking deer meat from Rangat Forest Area
Port Blair, Nov 24: On 23/11/2020 at about 1230 hrs, the team of AFEVS unit consisting of Mr S P Roy Dy. Ranger, Mr Baiju M Nair Forester, Mr M Shabbir forest guard, Mr Basant Lall forest guard along with six mazdoors on a tip off went to Parnashala RF area, under Parnashala Panchayat & Range jurisdiction of Rangat & following the foot prints & some other identification marks which indicates illegal trespass into the RF by some unknown persons & the team hided in the RF to trap the suspected accused & about 1900 hrs the team detected four suspected persons carrying some cloth bags coming out of the reserved forest and the forest officials chased them & get hold of two suspects, out of four as other two of the suspects manage to flee from the spot taking the advantage of darkness and after a massive search of two hours one out of other two absconding suspect was able to traced out & the other suspect could not be traced out & as such three accused were arrested & brought to the Range office AFEVS unit alongwith the seized material (meat of barking deer).
On further investigation/interrogation the names of the three arrested accused were disclosed as Mr. Dinesh Poddar, Mr. Shankar Ram and Mr. Sudhir Indwar, all resident of Parnashala village. Further they reveals that alongwith them other one person also went inside the RF at 0600 hrs on 23.11.2020 and the name of fourth absconding Co-accused was disclosed as Ram Mondal also a resident of Parnashala village and they hunted a barking deer, dressed & cut into pieces in the forest and put it in the cloth bags to carry. The weight of the venison recorded as 12 Kilograms by the investigating team.
Since both the accused were caught red handed while trespassing the Reserved forest & hunting wild animal & as such they have been booked under the relevant sections of IFA 1927 & Wildlife Protection Act 1972 for committing an offence as per law & after following all codal formalities the accused along with seized materials and case related documents were handed over in original to Range Officer Rangat for further proceedings of the case
Trespass into the Reserved forest without permission/valid documents is a punishable offence U/s 26 (1) (d) (i) of Indian Forest Act 1927 with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees, or with both, in addition to such compensation for damage done to the forest.
The entire operation took place under the guidance of Mr. Vijay Kishen Forest Ranger and under overall direction & Supervision of Mr. Satya Prakash Singh, IFS Divisional Forest Officer, Middle Andaman Forest Division. Middle Andaman Forest Division has zero tolerance against any offence related to Wildlife or forest and other anti social activities which prevails in the Reserved Forest/Protected areas
Hunting of wild animals specified in Schedule I or part II of Schedule II or possession of meat of any such animal or animal article, trophy or uncured trophy derived from such animal is a punishable offence U/s 51 (1) of wildlife protection Act 1972 with imprisonment for a term not less than three years but may extend to seven years and also with fine which shall not be less than Rs.10000/- & in case of second or subsequent offence imprisonment shall not be less than three years but may extend to seven years & also with a fine not less than Rs.25000/-.
Elder brother brutally attacks younger brother with a machete over an argument; accused apprehended

Port Blair, November 22: A man, namely CH Prabhas, 31 years old, a resident of Chunna Bhatta, Port Blair, was brutally attacked with a machete by his elder brother, CH Kamraju, 42 years, on the 19th November 2020 in front of his house.
As per reports, both brothers, fisherman by profession, went fishing 07-08 days back, and they returned from fishing on the afternoon of 19th of November 2020; it’s learned that after selling their catch, both the brothers drank like a fish and went to their home.
According to the eyewitnesses, at around 01:30 pm, the accused reached his younger brother’s house and started shouting at him. The accused also used foul language against his brother, which resulted in an argument between the two.
Out of anger, the elder brother then went to his house, which is just next to the victim’s house, brought a Machete and attacked both the hands of his younger brother, and escaped from the spot after the interference of the family members.
Immediately, the victim was taken to the CHC Bambooflat from where he was later referred to the GB Pant hospital, Port Blair.
After the matter was reported to the police on 20th November 2020, a team of Sub-Inspector Anish Ibrahim and Jeetender Lall started the search of the accused, and with the help of inputs, they arrested the accused in no time near the Bambooflat Jetty.
The entire search operation of the accused was headed by, SI K Ilangovan, Station House Officer, PS Bambooflat, under the overall supervision of SDPO PS Bambooflat, Mr. Kalaivanan.
The machete, other stuff have been seized by the team of police and a case of half murder has been registered against the accused.
As per sources, the accused has a history of crime as in the year 2018, he attacked his daughter for which a case was registered against him in this regard.
PS CCS Strikes again, seizes 20 KG of Ganja in three raids; Four arrested

Port Blair, Nov 22: The team of Police Station CCS has once again exhibited exemplary determination and dedication towards the fight against drug peddling in Andamans and arrested four people with 20 KG of Ganja yesterday.
These four accused, including two ladies were arrested in three different raids conducted near Airport, Bus Terminus and School Line areas. The main accused reportedly hails from Rangat while, two accused hail from West Bengal.
This is claimed to be the biggest haul of Ganja this year.
In last one month team of PS CCS virtually busted entire drug peddling racket by arresting some kingpins of Drug Peddling of these Islands.
The team of PS CCS consisted of SHO PS CCS Inspector Mahesh Kumar Yadav, Inspector Mohammed Illiyaz (Oi/c), ASI Vijay Shankar and others. The raids were supervised by Dy.SP CID under the overall directions of SP (CID).
Poacher arrested with Wild Boar Meat from Urmilapur Area

Port Blair, Nov 20: On 19th November 2020 acting on a tip off the team of forest mobile squad consisting of Mr. S.P. Roy Deputy Ranger, Mr. Baiju M. Nair Forester, Mr. Basant Lall, Forest Guard Mr. M.Shabbir, Forest Guard Mr. Anup Mistry, Mr. Ashrafuddin, went to Kalsi village under Urmilapur Panchayat & intercepted a person named Mr. Rajyaswar Baral near veterinary sub-center with a cloth bag in his hand & caught him.
As per reports, after this incident suddenly the accused person threw away his bag & tried to escape but after a hard chase he was again caught.
The cloth bag was searched in which approximately 2 kgs of Andaman wild boar meat was detected & as such the accused was arrested and wildlife produce was seized under relevant sections of Wild life protection act 1972.
The accused was further brought to the Range Office Bakultala along with seized materials & case related documents for further proceedings of the case.
The accused was produced before the magistrate in the court of CJM Mayabunder from where he was remanded under judicial custody for 14 days. Theft case solved fast

Port Blair, October 15: A team of Chatham Police Unit arrested a youth on charges of theft from a petty shop situated at Chatham near the APWD site office within hours, and recovered all the lost properties.
Following a complaint received on 12th October 2020 by the Petty Shop Owner about the theft of Rs 3000 and two mobile phones, 01 number Electric Cattle and 01 number Rice Cooker, a team led by Head Constable Aheesh Kumar and PC Rajeshwar Rao under the overall supervision of Sub Inspector Manoj Lall swung into action and after developing intelligence by interrogating the people in the nearby areas arrested Sanjay Lakra, a resident of Shoal Bay and recovered all the stolen items from him.
The accused has also confessed to his guilt, and action as per the law has been taken against the thief.
Central Crime Station Strikes Again on Drug Peddlers, Arrests 02
Port Blair, Oct 15: Central Crime Station in its continuous effort and crackdown against illegal Narcotics in A&N Islands, has arrested 02 drug peddlers.
Information was received by PS Central Crime Station about 02 persons travelling from Kolkata by private airlines on 14/10/2020 who were carrying contraband in a large quantity. Immediately on the direction of Dy. SP(CID) a team comprising Inspr. Mahesh Kr. Yadav, ASI Vijay Shankar, Head Constable P. Mustafa, Constable K. Rajendran, Raja Rao, Mohd. Imran, P. K. Mondal and H. K. Yadav of PS Central Crime Station was formed and rushed to VS International Airport, Lamba Line. The raiding team intercepted both of them near the parking and on asking, their details they disclosed their name as Vikram Singh S/o Shri Nahar Singh R/o Bambooflat and B. Balaji S/o Shri M. Bhaskaran R/o Rajiv Nagar, Bambooflat. During frisking & search the raiding team recovered 2.020 Kg illicit ganja from their possession. The Central Crime Station team has recently arrested around 11 drug peddlers within the fortnight. The raid was headed by Sh. Jagdev Singh Yadav, DANIPS, Dy.SP (CID) under the overall supervision of Sh. Anant Mittal, IPS, SP(CID).
The Andaman & Nicobar Police has a strict zero tolerance policy and is taking all possible steps in making these islands free from anti-social activities and is keeping strict vigil to stop gambling, smuggling and proliferation of narcotics substances in these Islands. A & N Police nabs around a dozen drug peddlers in twenty days

Port Blair, October 14: Andaman Nicobar Police has launched a cleanup drive against Narcotics. In the last 20 days, the Central Crime Station has arrested around a dozen drug peddlers and recovered drugs worth several crores.
The team of Central Crime Station headed by the Station House Officer, Inspector Mahesh Kumar Yadav, and Deputy Superintendent of Police, Mr. Jagdev Singh Yadav, recently nabbed 02 drug peddlers Vikram and Balaji, with more than 2 kilograms of Ganja.
On a tip-off, the team of CCS conducted a raid on both the peddlers, who landed Port Blair from Kolkata in Indigo Airlines, and found that both the peddlers were carrying a huge quantity of Ganja.
In the last 20 days, the CCS team has arrested around 11 peddlers from all corners of these Islands.
Such an effort of the AN Police has been highly appreciated by the citizens of the Islands, and request has been made to continue the efforts to safeguard the youth of these Islands.
