Vikramaditya
Port Blair, Oct 08: Dozens of cops from different Police Stations reportedly missed the last ferry for Bambooflat from Chatham Jetty tonight as the briefing for VVIP visit, organised this evening, continued for extra hours.
No doubts that VVIP visits are important for Andamans, for which police briefings are also important but this is also important for the top cops to ensure that after briefing, lower ranked cops should be able to reach home safely. In this case a special ferry should have been provided for 30 odd stranded cops, which also included ladies.
The last ferry for Bambooflat from Chatham leaves at 8.40 PM but today the ferry waited till 9.00 PM due to inclement weather but still many cops could not make it to the ferry as they were late. Later after great difficulties these cops arranged vehicles to reach their home via road.
