Port Blair, Aug 04: The Director IP&T, Mr. Alok Kumar DANICS, today said that altogether two flights with 321 passengers arrived today at Port Blair Airport and all passengers have undergone RT-PCR test, the results for today’s RT-PCR are awaited.
While addressing the COVID-19 media briefing today at IP&T Conference hall he pointed out that for passengers who arrived yesterday (Wednesday), one passenger was found COVID-19 positive during the RT-PCR test.
The Director further informed that 249 persons (travelers) bound for N&M Andaman were tested at Ferrargunj in which all persons were tested COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).
“Today a total of Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) tests were conducted by the Mobile testing team at Austinabad and Brookshabad area in which no person was found COVID-19 positive”, the Director added.
“Today altogether 968 beneficiaries got vaccinated by 04:00 PM in which 553 were under the 18-44 age groups who got their first dose of vaccine, ” he added.
Deputy Director GB Pant Hospital, Dr. Amitabha De informed that at GB Pant Hospital no COVID-19 patient is admitted whereas one person got discharged and no patient is on oxygen support. Two asymptomatic patients were there at Covid Care Center in which one got discharged, he added.
3,00,146 beneficiaries vaccinated so far in A&N Islands
Port Blair, Aug, 4: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 3,00,146 beneficiaries have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands, out of the target beneficiaries of 2,81,603 (approx.). A total of 1141 people were vaccinated today in A&N Islands. A total of 95,950 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated till date.
998 beneficiaries were vaccinated in South Andaman District, out of which 683 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44 years. Similarly, 60 beneficiaries were vaccinated in North & Middle Andaman District. In Nicobar District, 83 beneficiaries were vaccinated out of which, 55 were in the age group of 18-44 years.
South Andaman District Administration extends lockdown with more relaxations: movement of men and materials allowed between 06:00 AM to 10:00 PM
Port Blair, Aug 03: Lockdown/restricted movement shall continue to be in force in the entire District of South Andaman from 04.08.2021 with no movement of men and materials between 10:00 PM to 06:00 AM except for those specified below. Order in this regard was issued by Mr. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, District Magistrate, South Andaman District today.
According to some major points of the order, shops selling essential and non-essential items shall be allowed to open between 06:00 AM to 10:00 PM by observing COVID appropriate behavior.
No movement of men and material without valid movement pass/e-pass shall be allowed after 10:00 PM.
Movement shall be allowed after 10:00 PMfor medical emergency cases.
Persons engaged for essential activities for movement of goods on Andaman Trunk road, loading and unloading of essential cargo after 10:00 PM shall be allowed on production of valid movement permit issued by the Office of District Magistrate.
Travel of persons who intend to proceed to their destinations at mainland after 10:00 PM shall be allowed on production of valid travel documents. However, the person (one person) who intend to pick/drop after 10:00 PM, should apply for e-pass well in advance with supporting documents and the same shall be issued by the Office of District Magistrate on case to case basis.
Movement of officers/officials involved in providing essential services such as District Administration, Police, CISF, Health Services, ICMR, PBMC, Electricity, Shipping Services, Home Guards, Civil Defence, Fire and emergency services, Defence personnel on duty after 10:00 PM shall be permitted on production of valid Identity Cards issued by their concerned departments.
Movement of Officers/Officials, involved in providing services such as Pay & Accounts, Forest, Banking, Water Supply & Sanitation in Rural Areas, Disaster Management, Port services and related services, Telecommunication shall be allowed after 10:00 PM on production of movement passes already issued by the Office of District Magistrate.
Movement of personnel involved in providing Broadcasting, all print and electronic media persons after 10:00 PM shall be allowed on production of valid movement passes issued by the Office of District Magistrate.
Movement of personnel involved in providing essential/emergency services shall be allowed after 10:00 PM on production of e-passes to be issued by the Office of District Magistrate.
All POL outlets shall be opened from 06:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
Movement of private medical personnel such as Doctors, nursing staff, paramedics etc. attached with diagnostic centres and clinics, veterinary clinics shall be allowed after 10:00 PM on production of e-passes issued by the Office of District Magistrate.
Movement of persons from containment zones shall be strictly restricted and shall only be permitted on case to case basis upon approval from the Office of District Magistrate.
Port services will continue to operate as usual and both essential and non-essential cargo can be moved in and out of port, as per requirement for loading/unloading/clearing of cargo and the same shall be permitted till 10:00 PM only. e-Passes for operation of cargo movement after 10:00 PM needs to be obtained, which shall be strictly permitted on case to case basis by the Office of the District Magistrate.
Construction activities shall be permitted till 10:00 PM. Construction activities of national importance and strategic projects beyond 10:00 PM shall be permitted with prior permission of District Magistrate and e-Passes needs to be obtained, which shall be strictly permitted on case to case basis by the Office of the District Magistrate.
Movement of persons involved with Hotels/Restaurants and Mess for home delivery of food shall be allowed till 10:00 PM. Dine-in shall be permitted between 06:00 AM to 10:00 PM only, subject to 50% of the seating capacity and strict adherence of COVID appropriate behaviours. However, take away/parcel service and home delivery should be encouraged.
Public Transport/Buses shall be allowed to ply with strict adherence to the SOPs issued in this regard by the Transport department.
Sale and service of liquor at licensed premises shall be permitted till 10:00 PM. SOPs and orders regarding the timings for sale and service of liquor at all licensed establishments (C, C1, B1, B2, B3 and B4 category) issued by the Deputy Commissioner (Excise), South Andaman should be strictly adhered to.
All Parks/Playgrounds/Stadiums/Gyms and yoga institutes shall be permitted till 10:00 pm with 50% capacity and strict adherence of COVID appropriate behaviours. Any person violating the above directions shall be liable for fine to the tune of Rs.1,000/-, whereas the organisation shall be fined to the tune of Rs.25,000/-.
Last rites/funerals shall be permitted with a maximum of 20 persons with strict adherence of to COVID appropriate behaviours.
No tribal passes will be issued for southern group of islands till further orders except for official purposes/national importance and strategic projects.
All Religious places/places of worship are allowed to open till10:00 PM with 25 persons at a time along withpriest for offering prayers. Wearing of face masks, maintaining social distancing, provision of thermal scanning and use of hand wash and sanitizers will be mandatory. The Management Committee of the religious places shall be responsible to ensure strict compliance and any violations of the directions shall be liable for fine to the tune of Rs.25,000/- payable by the Committee.
Religious places/places of worship in containment zones shall remain closed. Only those outside containment zones will be allowed to open up.
e-pass for emergency movement during restricted timings may be submitted online on https://epass.andaman.gov.in. The applicants/organizations submitting applications for e-pass should invariably submit valid and clear supporting documents, failing which the application will be summarily rejected.
This order shall come into effect from 04thAugust 2021 and shall remain in force till 10thAugust 2021.
1520 people vaccinated today in A&N Islands
Port Blair, Aug, 03: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 2,99,005 beneficiaries have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands, out of the target beneficiaries of 2,81,603 (approx.). A total of 1520 people were vaccinated today in A&N Islands. A total of 95,212 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated till date.
1392 beneficiaries were vaccinated in South Andaman District, out of which 1078 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44 years. Similarly, 96 beneficiaries were vaccinated in North & Middle Andaman District. In Nicobar District, 32 beneficiaries were vaccinated out of which, 17 were in the age group of 18-44 years.
One found COVID-19 positive at Ferrargunj: Secretary IP&T

Port Blair, Aug 03: The Secretary Information Publicity & Tourism, Mr. Sunil Kumar Singh, today said that altogether two flights with 344 passengers arrived today at Port Blair Airport and all passengers have undergone RT-PCR test, the results for today’s RT-PCR are awaited.
While addressing the COVID-19 media briefing today at IP&T Conference hall he pointed out that Passengers who arrived yesterday (Monday), no passenger was found COVID-19 positive during the RT-PCR test.
The Secretary further informed that 348 persons (travelers) bound for N&M Andaman were tested at Ferrargunj in which one person was tested COVID-19 positive during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).
“Today a total 48 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) tests were conducted by Mobile testing team at Shadipur area in which no person was found COVID-19 positive”, Mr. Singh added.
Today altogether 621 beneficiaries got vaccinated by 04:00 PM in which 500 were under the 18-44 age groups who got their first dose of vaccine, the Secretary IP&T pointed out.
Director ANIIMS, Dr. A K Mondal informed that at GB Pant Hospital today 01 COVID-19 patient was admitted and no patient is on oxygen support and on ventilator.
Deputy Director GB Pant Hospital, Dr. Amitabha De informed that one COVID-19 positive got admitted today, total 03 asymptomatic patients are there at Covid Care Center.
84 RAT conducted at Prothrapur by Mobile Testing Team, all found COVID-19 negative: Secretary IP&T

Port Blair, Aug 02: The Secretary IP&T, Mr. Sunil Kumar Singh, today said that today altogether two flights with 360 passengers arrived today at Port Blair Airport and all passengers have undergone RT-PCR test, the results for today’s RT-PCR are awaited.
While addressing the COVID-19 media briefing today at IP&T Conference hall he pointed out that Passengers who arrived yesterday (Sunday), no passenger was found COVID-19 positive during the RT-PCR test.
The Secretary further informed that 277 persons (travelers) bound for N&M Andaman were tested at Ferrargunj in which all people were tested COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).
“Today a total 84 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) tests were conducted by Mobile testing team at Prothrapur in which no person was found COVID-19 positive. Today altogether 632 beneficiaries got vaccinated by 04:00 PM in which 432 were under the 18-44 age group, who got their first dose of vaccine,” Mr. Singh added

Vaccination drive continuing smoothly in Isles
Port Blair, Aug. 02: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 2, 97,485beneficiaries have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands, out of the target beneficiaries of 2, 81, 603 (approx.). A total of 1198 people were vaccinated today in A&N Islands. A total of 94,117 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated till date.
994 beneficiaries were vaccinated in South Andaman District, out of which 615 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44 years. Similarly, 154 beneficiaries were vaccinated in North & Middle Andaman District out of which, 48 were in the age group of 18-44 years. In Nicobar District, 50 beneficiaries were vaccinated out of which, 39 were in the age group of 18-44 years.

“Today no vaccination drive was conducted at JNRM vaccination center”, he added.

A total of 33 people were vaccinated today in A&N Islands. A total of 93,415 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated till date.
33 beneficiaries in the age group of 18-44 years were vaccinated in South Andaman District today.
2,94,560 beneficiaries vaccinated so far in A&N Islands
Port Blair, July 30: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 2,94,560 beneficiaries have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands, out of the target beneficiaries of 2,81,603 (approx.). A total of 2556 people were vaccinated today in A&N Islands. A total of 92,438 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated till date.
1080 beneficiaries were vaccinated in South Andaman District, out of which 689 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44 years. Similarly, 1351 beneficiaries were vaccinated in North & Middle Andaman District out of which, 1199 were in the age group of 18-44 years. In Nicobar District, 125 beneficiaries were vaccinated out of which, 55 were in the age group of 18-44 years.
The registration slot for 18+ category for COVID-19 vaccination will be open from 9:30am onwards tomorrow (31.07.21). The registered eligible beneficiaries will be vaccinated at JNRM from August 2, 2021.
