No air passengers found COVID-19 Positive during RT-PCR test: Director IP&T

Port Blair, Aug 12: The Director IP&T, Mr. Alok Kumar DANICS, said that altogether two flights with 442 passengers arrived today at Port Blair Airport and all passengers have undergone RT-PCR test, the results for today’s RT-PCR tests are awaited.
While addressing the COVID-19 media briefing today at IP&T Conference hall he pointed out that among passengers who arrived yesterday (Wednesday), no passenger were found COVID-19 positive in the RT-PCR test.
The Director further informed that 265 persons (travelers) bound for N&M Andaman was tested at Ferrargunj in which all persons were tested COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and passengers of MV Chouldari were also tested today which was returning from Port Blair to Swaraj Dweep, altogether 46 people were tested in which all were found COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and 07 passengers were also tested at Helipad in which all were found COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).
“At phoenix Bay jetty total 94 passengers travelling to Swaraj Dweep were tested in which all were found Covid-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and at Mohanpura Bus stand also 138 persons were tested in which all were found COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT)”, he said.
“Today altogether 669 beneficiaries got vaccinated by 04:00 PM in which 559 were under the 18-44 age groups who got their first dose of vaccine, ” he added.
Deputy Director GB Pant Hospital, Dr. Amitabha De informed that at GB Pant Hospital one COVID-19 patient is admitted and no patient is on oxygen support.

 

5330 people vaccinated today in A&N Islands

Port Blair, Aug, 12: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 3, 13, 490 beneficiaries have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands, out of the target beneficiaries of 2, 81, 603 (approx.). A total of 5330 people were vaccinated today in A&N Islands. A total of 1,06,711 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated till date.

3776 beneficiaries were vaccinated in South Andaman District, out of which 3410 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44 years. Similarly, 1542 beneficiaries were vaccinated in North & Middle Andaman District out of which 1402 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44.12 beneficiaries were vaccinated in Nicobar District, out of which 1 beneficiary was in the age group of 18-44 years.

 

Situation regarding COVID-19 is under control, Administration is keeping watch: Secretary IP&T

Port Blair, Aug 11: The Secretary IP&T, Mr. Sunil Kumar Singh, today said that the situation regarding COVID-19 is under control and the administration is keeping watch on all aspects.

While addressing the COVID-19 media briefing today at IP&T Conference hall he pointed out that today altogether three flights with 323 passengers arrived today at Port Blair Airport and all passengers have undergone RT-PCR test, the results for today’s RT-PCR are awaited.

He said that of the passengers who arrived yesterday (Tuesday), no passengers were found COVID-19 positive at the RT-PCR test.

The Director further informed that 234 persons (travelers) bound for N&M Andaman was tested at Ferrargunj in which all persons were tested COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and passengers of MV Chouldari were also tested today which was returning Port Blair from Shaheed Dweep, altogether 77 people were tested in which all were found COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).

“At Phoenix Bay jetty, 74 passengers travelling to Swaraj Dweep were tested in which all were found Covid-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).”, he added.

“Today altogether 819 beneficiaries got vaccinated by 04:00 PM in which 800 were under the 18-44 age groups who got their first dose of vaccine, ” he added.

The Deputy Director GB Pant Hospital, Dr. Amitabha De informed that at GB Pant Hospital one COVID-19 patient is admitted whereas no patient is on oxygen support and no asymptomatic patient is there at Covid Care Center, he pointed out.

 

3152 people vaccinated today in A&N Islands

Port Blair, Aug, 11: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 3, 08, 160 beneficiaries have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands, out of the target beneficiaries of 2, 81, 603 (approx.). A total of 3152 people were vaccinated today in A&N Islands. A total of 1,01,898 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated till date.
2990 beneficiaries were vaccinated in South Andaman District, out of which 2618 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44 years. Similarly, 41 beneficiaries were vaccinated in North & Middle Andaman District.121 beneficiaries were vaccinated in Nicobar District, out of which 89 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44 years.

Lockdown with same norms extended till 17th August in South Andaman

Port Blair, Aug 10: Lockdown with same norms extended till 17th August in South Andaman district. The order regarding extension of Lockdown was issued by District Magistrate of South Andaman, Mr. Suneel Anchipaka today.

As per the new order: Lockdown/restricted movement shall continue to be in force in the entire District of South Andaman from 11.08.2021 with no movement of men and materials between 10:00 PM to 06:00 AM except for those specified below.

Shops selling essential and non-essential items shall be allowed to open between 06:00 AM to 10:00 PM by observing COVID appropriate behavior. It shall be the sole responsibility of the owner/In-Charge of the shop/business establishment to ensure its compliance and shall be held responsible for any violation and he/she shall be liable to be fined to the tune of Rs.50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand Only) in addition to sealing of the shop/establishment for a period of 14 days by the Executive Magistrate and shall be liable for action under DM Act.

No movement of men and material without valid movement pass/e-pass shall be allowed after 10:00 PM.

Movement shall be allowed after 10:00 PM for medical emergency cases.

Persons engaged for essential activities for movement of goods on Andaman Trunk road, loading and unloading of essential cargo after 10:00 PM shall be allowed on production of valid movement permit issued by the Office of District Magistrate.

Travel of persons who intend to proceed to their destinations at mainland after 10:00 PM shall be allowed on production of valid travel documents. However, the person (one person) who intend to pick/drop after 10:00 PM, should apply for e-pass well in advance with supporting documents and the same shall be issued by the Office of District Magistrate on case to case basis.

Movement of officers/officials involved in providing essential services such as District Administration, Police, CISF, Health Services, ICMR, PBMC, Electricity, Shipping Services, Home Guards, Civil Defence, Fire and emergency services, Defence personnel on duty after 10:00 PM shall be permitted on production of valid Identity Cards issued by their concerned departments.

Movement of Officers/Officials, involved in providing services such as Pay & Accounts, Forest, Banking, Water Supply & Sanitation in Rural Areas, Disaster Management, Port services and related services, Telecommunication shall be allowed after 10:00 PM on production of movement passes already issued by the Office of District Magistrate.

Movement of personnel involved in providing Broadcasting, all print and electronic media persons after 10:00 PM shall be allowed on production of valid movement passes issued by the Office of District Magistrate.

Movement of personnel involved in providing essential/emergency services shall be allowed after 10:00 PM on production of e-passes to be issued by the Office of District Magistrate. It shall be the sole responsibility of the owner/In-Charge of the shop/business establishment to ensure its compliance and also if any person attached with such organisation is found misusing the e-passes or using the same for purposes other than it is meant for, the owner/in-charge shall be held responsible and he/she shall be liable to be fined to the tune of Rs.25,000/- (Rupees Twenty Five Thousand Only) and shall also be liable for action under DM Act.

All POL outlets shall be opened from 06:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

Movement of private medical personnel such as Doctors, nursing staff, paramedics etc. attached with diagnostic centres and clinics, veterinary clinics shall be allowed after 10:00 PM on production of e-passes issued by the Office of District Magistrate.

Movement of persons from containment zones shall be strictly restricted and shall only be permitted on case to case basis upon approval from the Office of District Magistrate.

Port services will continue to operate as usual and both essential and non-essential cargo can be moved in and out of port, as per requirement for loading/unloading/clearing of cargo and the same shall be permitted till 10:00 PM only. e-Passes for operation of cargo movement after 10:00 PM needs to be obtained, which shall be strictly permitted on case to case basis by the Office of the District Magistrate.

Construction activities shall be permitted till 10:00 PM. Construction activities of national importance and strategic projects beyond 10:00 PM shall be permitted with prior permission of District Magistrate and e-Passes needs to be obtained, which shall be strictly permitted on case to case basis by the Office of the District Magistrate.

Movement of persons involved with Hotels/Restaurants and Mess for home delivery of food shall be allowed till 10:00 PM. Dine-in shall be permitted between 06:00 AM to 10:00 PM only, subject to 50% of the seating capacity and strict adherence of COVID appropriate behaviours. However, take away/parcel service and home delivery should be encouraged. It shall be the sole responsibility of the owner/In-Charge of the shop/business establishment to ensure its compliance and he/she shall be held responsible for any violation and shall be liable to be fined to the tune of Rs.50,000/- (Rupees Fifty Thousand Only) in addition to sealing of the shop/establishment for a period of 14 days by the Executive Magistrate and shall also be liable for action under DM Act.

Public Transport/Buses shall be allowed to ply with strict adherence to the SOPs issued in this regard by the Transport department.

Sale and service of liquor at licensed premises shall be permitted till 10:00 PM. SOPs and orders regarding the timings for sale and service of liquor at all licensed establishments (C, C1, B1, B2, B3 and B4 category) issued by the Deputy Commissioner (Excise), South Andaman should be strictly adhered to.

All Parks/Playgrounds/Stadiums/Gyms and yoga institutes shall be permitted till 10:00 pm with 50% capacity and strict adherence of COVID appropriate behaviours.Any person violating the above directions shall be liable for fine to the tune of Rs.1,000/-, whereas the organisation shall be fined to the tune of Rs.25,000/-.

Last rites/funerals shall be permitted with a maximum of 20 persons with strict adherence of to COVID appropriate behaviours.

No tribal passes will be issued for southern group of islands till further orders except for official purposes/national importance and strategic projects.

All Religious places/places of worship are allowed to open till10:00 PM with 25 persons at a time along with priest for offering prayers. Wearing of face masks, maintaining social distancing, provision of thermal scanning and use of hand wash and sanitizers will be mandatory. The Management Committee of the religious places shall be responsible to ensure strict compliance and any violations of the directions shall be liable for fine to the tune of Rs.25,000/- payable by the Committee.

Religious places/places of worship in containment zones shall remain closed. Only those outside containment zones will be allowed to open up.

e-pass for emergency movement during restricted timings may be submitted online on https://epass.andaman.gov.in. The applicants/organizations submitting applications for e-pass should invariably submit valid and clear supporting documents, failing which the application will be summarily rejected.
This order shall come into effect from 11thAugust 2021 and shall remain in force till 17thAugust 2021.

 

No air passengers found COVID-19 positive during RT-PCR test: Director IP&T

Port Blair, Aug 09: The Director IP&T, Mr. Alok Kumar DANICS, today said that altogether three flights with 456 passengers arrived today at Port Blair Airport and all passengers have undergone RT-PCR test, the results for today’s RT-PCR are awaited.
While addressing the COVID-19 media briefing today at IP&T Conference hall he pointed out that passengers who arrived yesterday (Sunday), no passenger were found COVID-19 positive at the RT-PCR test.
The Director further informed that 196 persons (travelers) bound for N&M Andaman was tested at Ferrargunj in which all persons were tested COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and passengers of MV Chouldari were also tested today which was returning Port Blair from Shaheed Dweep, altogether 92 people were tested in which all were found COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).
“At phoenix Bay jetty total 88 passengers travelling to Swaraj Dweep was tested in which all were found Covid-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT),” he added.
“Today altogether 443 beneficiaries got vaccinated by 04:00 PM in which 381 were under the 18-44 age groups who got their first dose of vaccine, ” he added.

1093 people vaccinated today in A&N Islands

Port Blair, Aug 09: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 3,03,869 beneficiaries have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands, out of the target beneficiaries of 2,81,603 (approx.). A total of 1093 people were vaccinated today in A&N Islands. A total of 98,403 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated till date.
1014 beneficiaries were vaccinated in South Andaman District, out of which 767 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44 years. Similarly, 67 beneficiaries were vaccinated in North & Middle Andaman District. In Nicobar District, 12 beneficiaries were vaccinated out of which, 7 were in the age group of 18-44 years.

 

Former Up-Adhyaksh, N&M Andaman Zilla Parishad demands STS bus service between Baratang and Port Blair

Port Blair, Aug 06: The former Up-Adhyaksh of North and Middle Andaman ZP, Mr. R Alager Swami has demanded STS Bus service between Baratang and Port Blair.
Talking to Andaman Sheekha Mr. R Alager Swami said that STS bus service for other parts of North and Middle Andaman was re-started recently but like always interest of people of Baratang Island have been ignored by Transport Department.
Mr. Alager Swami has also taken up this issue with the Deputy Commissioner of North and Middle Andaman, Dr. Angel Bhati Chauhan and highlighted the problems being faced by general public.
“The Deputy Commissioner heard all problems of Baratang people very patiently and has assured necessary action. I am positive that the proactive Deputy Commissioner of NMA will take immediate action in this regard,” he said.
At present, it is very hard for people of Baratang to get a ticket in STS buses of other regions, especially for the journey to Port Blair from Baratang.

 

205 persons tested at Ferrargunj, all found COVID-19 negative: Director IP&T

Port Blair, Aug 06: The Director IP&T, Mr. Alok Kumar, today said that altogether two flights with 331 passengers arrived today at Port Blair Airport and all passengers have undergone RT-PCR test, the results for today’s RT-PCR are awaited.
While addressing the COVID-19 media briefing today at IP&T Conference hall he pointed out that passengers who arrived yesterday (Thursday), no passenger was found COVID-19 positive at the RT-PCR test.
The Director further informed that 205 persons (travelers) bound for N&M Andaman was tested at Ferrargunj in which all persons were tested COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).
“Today a total of 29 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) tests were conducted by the Mobile testing team at UHC Dilanipur and Buniyadabad community hall area in which no person was found COVID-19 positive”, the Director added.
“Today altogether 484 beneficiaries got vaccinated by 04:00 PM in which 384 were under the 18-44 age groups who got their first dose of vaccine, ” he added.
Deputy Director GB Pant Hospital, Dr. Amitabha De informed that at GB Pant Hospital no COVID-19 patient is admitted and no patient is on oxygen support. One asymptomatic patient is there at Covid Care Center, he added.

82 RAT conducted at Tushnabad area by Mobile Testing Team, all found negative: Secretary IP&T

Port Blair, Aug 05: The Secretary Information Publicity & Tourism, Mr. Sunil Kumar Singh today said that altogether two flights with 364 passengers arrived at Port Blair Airport today and all passengers have undergone RT-PCR test, the results for today’s RT-PCR are awaited.
While addressing the COVID-19 media briefing today at IP&T Conference hall the Secretary Mr. Singh pointed out that Passengers who arrived yesterday (Wednesday), no passenger was found COVID-19 positive during the RT-PCR test.
The Secretary further informed that 217 persons (travelers) bound for N&M Andaman were tested at Ferrargunj in which all people were tested COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).
“Today a total 82 Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) tests were conducted by the Mobile testing team at Tushnabad area in which no person was found COVID-19 positive”, Mr. Singh added.
Today altogether 500 beneficiaries got vaccinated by 04:00 PM in which 400 were under the 18-44 age groups who got their first dose of vaccine, the Secretary IP&T pointed out.
Deputy Director GB Pant Hospital, Dr. Amitabha De informed that at GB Pant Hospital no COVID-19 patient is admitted and no patient is on oxygen support. One asymptomatic patient is there at Covid Care Center, he added.
