Port Blair, Oct. 4: The vaccination drive is continuing smoothly in A&N Islands. As per data available, a total of 4,46,372 beneficiaries have been vaccinated so far in A&N Islands, out of the target beneficiaries of 2, 81, 603 (approx.). A total of 1,70,246 eligible people in the age group of 18 to 44 years have been vaccinated till date. A total of 3082 people were vaccinated today in A&N Islands.
1541 beneficiaries were vaccinated in South Andaman District, out of which 205 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44 years. Similarly, 1463 beneficiaries were vaccinated in North & Middle Andaman District out of which 56 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44. 78 beneficiaries were vaccinated in Nicobar District out of which 6 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44.

Port Blair, Oct 04: The Director IP&T, Mr. Alok Kumar,(DANICS) informed today that eight flights with 1306 passengers arrived today at Port Blair Airport, among which 602 passengers were fully vaccinated. Remaining 704 passengers have undergone RT-PCR test, the results for today’s RT-PCR are awaited.
While addressing the COVID-19 media briefing today at IP&T Conference hall he pointed out that for passengers who arrived yesterday (Sunday), one passenger was found COVID-19 positive at the RT-PCR test.
The Director further informed that 225 persons (travelers) bound for N&M Andaman reached Ferrargunj in which 89 were fully vaccinated. Remaining 136 persons were tested COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) and altogether 69 people were tested at Phoenix Bay jetty, passengers were tested in which all were found Covid-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT)”, he said.
At Mohanpura Bus stand 132 RATs were conducted in which all were found COVID-19 negative today and at Helipad total 09 persons were tested in which all found COVID-19 negative.
“Today a total of 510 doses of vaccine were provided to eligible beneficiaries among which 487 persons were of the 18-44 year age group,” he added.
Later Deputy Director GB Pant Hospital, Dr. Amitabha De informed that at GB Pant Hospital only two 02 COVID-19 patient is admitted, whereas no asymptomatic patient is at Covid Care Center, he added.

Similarly, 167 beneficiaries were vaccinated in North & Middle Andaman District out of which 29 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44. 28 beneficiaries were vaccinated in Nicobar District out of which 2 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44.

1089 beneficiaries were vaccinated in South Andaman District, out of which 205 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44 years. Similarly, 143 beneficiaries were vaccinated in North & Middle Andaman District out of which 38 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44. 44 beneficiaries were vaccinated in Nicobar District out of which 1 beneficiary was in the age group of 18-44.

1218 beneficiaries were vaccinated in South Andaman District, out of which 207 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44 years. Similarly, 131 beneficiaries were vaccinated in North & Middle Andaman District out of which 31 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44. 62 beneficiaries were vaccinated in Nicobar District out of which 2 beneficiaries were in the age group of 18-44.

Port Blair, Sept 29: In order to ensure 100% COVID vaccination to the eligible population of South Andaman, the District Administration conducted vaccination camp at Wandoor Community hall in coordination with Health department and NGOs Rotary Club International &Rotary Club Next Gen.
Mr. Suneel Anchipaka, Deputy Commissioner, South Andaman along with Sub Divisional Magistrate and Asst. Commissioner (U/T) visited vaccination camp and urged the people to vaccinate themselves and their near & dear ones to contain the corona virus. He said that 100% vaccination is the effective tool to fight against COVID pandemic.
The Deputy Commissioner/ Chairman, District Health Society, South Andaman also informed that active Tuberculosis (TB) case finding survey is being conducted at various Health & Wellness Centers, vaccination centers and also in construction sites and at community halls.
As a part of active TB case finding survey, a team of District NTEP has conducted screening at District Jail, Prothrapur. Further, the target to screen all employees of hoteliers of SwarajDweephas also been completed.All together 228 prisoners of District jail and 595 hoteliers of SwarajDweepwere screened out of which 9 suspects sample have been collected for further examinationto make sure that if any TB suspect cases are identified, they are followed up and if found positive, treatment is initiated to eliminate TB from the District.
The DC (SA) urged the general public of South Andaman to cooperate with the field staff during the TB survey and also directed all contractors of construction site to do TB screening of their labours, if there are any suspected cases, they may get tested at nearest health centres and are requested to contact District TB unit, GB Pant hospital or District Health Society, DC Office (SA) for any assistance for TB screening or testing to achieve the goal of TB eradication by 2025.
