Port Blair, Oct 22: Around 80 National Rural Health Mission (NHRM) employees including doctors and paramedical staffs are reportedly suffering heavily due to non-payment of salaries since last one month and area increments since past 18 months in North and Middle Andaman District.
Staffs who do not want their name to be quoted told Andaman Sheekha Daily that the delay is due to lethargic and arrogant attitude of one particular staff of North and Middle Andaman District Administration, who has even challenged NHRM staffs to file complaints anywhere they wish.
When Andaman Sheekha contacted the Office Accountant Mr. C. Pandi of concerned section to know reason behind this delay he informed that the delay is because of the transfer of DC N & M Andaman and said that on Tuesday all bills have now been sent to Port Blair and assured that within this week the salaries will be disbursed to the employees. However National Rural Health Mission (NHRM) employees alleged that this is not the first time when their salary has been delayed for various reasons.
Hopefully the new DC of N&M Andaman District will intervene in this matter and solve this issue.
