Port Blair, Feb 12: The Headquarters Coast Guard Region, A & N Region organized the Annual Seminar “Island Musings – 2016” on the topic “Marine Pollution Response & Control: A Coast Guard Perspective” on Feb 11-12, 2016 here. Dr JK Mishra, Professor & Head of the Department, Department of Ocean Studies & Marine Biology, Pondicherry University delivered the inaugural address. He highlighted the environment vulnerabilities of the A&N Islands.
Specialist Coast Guard Officers from Headquarters, New Delhi and all regions presented their papers covering professional topics like Prevention, Control and Response to Marine Pollution. In his address, Inspector General Kuldeep Singh Sheoran, PTM, TM, Commander Coast Guard Region (A&N) emphasised on the importance of capacity building by all stakeholders for pollution response particularly in the A&N Islands.
