Burmanallah, Jan. 22: Burmanallah Beach, a picturesque spot in South Andaman, has been gaining popularity among locals due to its approachable location and tranquil setting, far from the hustle and bustle of road traffic. On weekends and holidays, the beach transforms into a bustling picnic destination, with families flocking to enjoy quality time in nature.
However, the increasing popularity has brought along an unwelcome problem: the beach is often littered with garbage. Waste left behind by visitors and debris brought in by the tides has made it difficult for families to enjoy their outings. The once-pristine beach now faces the growing challenge of cleanliness, which has become a concern for regular visitors.
Local residents have urged the Panchayat to take action. Suggestions include appointing personnel to maintain the cleanliness of the beach, installing large garbage bins to encourage proper waste disposal, and urging visitors to carry their trash back with them.
Additionally, many believe that regular cleaning drives—at least twice a month—should be conducted to ensure the area remains clean and welcoming for all. Such efforts would not only preserve the natural beauty of Burmanallah Beach but also encourage responsible behavior among visitors.
