Inter-Departmental meeting / Joint Working meeting organized by A&N AIDS Control Society (ANACS)

Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 30: Inter-Departmental meeting / Joint Working meeting was organized by Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society (ANACS) on 29th October 2024. Twenty Eight representatives from various Departments attended this meeting.
The meeting was organized under the guidance and leadership of Dr. Subrata Saha, Project Director, ANACS. In his keynote address he informed the participants that HIV is not just a health issue but is influenced by a number of socio-economic elements. Therefore, health intervention alone cannot prevent HIV and requires a collaborative effort from all departments, institutions/ organizations.
Through powerpoint presentation, Dr. Jahanara Yasmeen, informed the officials about the implementation of the National AIDS Control Program and available services in these Islands by ANACS.
The objective of the meeting was to integrate the National AIDS Control Programme (NACP) within the ongoing programmes of the Departments and roll out of MoUs signed between National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) and Department/ Ministries. The meeting was to make the stakeholders understand their responsibilities as a stakeholder and how our joint effort can help us in reducing new HIV infections.
