Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 18: The A & N Traffic Police will be organising a motorcycle rally on 19th October, 2024 at 1630 hours to raise awareness about the importance of wearing helmets while riding. The rally will begin at Flag Point and will run through the Sri Vijaya Puram.
As part of this initiative, the A & N Traffic Police wants to emphasize on the life-saving benefits of wearing helmets for all riders and pillions, including children above the age of four. Wearing helmets is not only a legal requirement but also a moral responsibility. As per MV Act, 2019, helmets are mandatory for all riders and pillion, including children above the age of 04 years. Failure to comply with this rule could result in penalties, but more importantly, it poses a grave risk to life and safety.
The A & N Traffic Police encourages everyone, to take part in the rally and contribute to making the roads safer for all.”Safety starts with you!”
General public is also encouraged to report traffic violations such as riding without helmet, Using mobile phone while driving, use of multi tone horn, excess smoke emission, illegal/obstructive parking, retrofitted/modified silencers, rash & negligent driving & triple riding etc. by sending clear photograph/short videos of violation containing clear registration no. of vehicle with date, time and place of offence on the official Whatsapp No. 9531892228 or to inform on the Traffic Control Room Number 03192-243812 for prompt action against the violators.
