Sri Vijaya Puram, Oct 04: On the celebration of “National Voluntary Blood Donation Day” 2024, A & N AIDS Control Society (ANACS) along with Blood Centre, G.B. Pant Hospital, Directorate of Health Services, Supported Nityananda Seva Sangh on 1st October, 2024 at Krishna Mandir Hall, Guptapara village, Near Sitanagar Junction, Sri Vijaya Puram. A total of 36 units of blood were donated by the students, staff and voluntary donors.
The camp was organized under the guidance of Dr. Subrata Saha, Project Director, A & N AIDS Control Society and Director, State Blood Transfusion Council, A & N Islands.
The Blood Donation camp was facilitated by Dr. Shilpa Vijay Sankhe Medical Officer (Blood Bank), ANIIMS, G.B. Pant Hospital, Sri Vijaya Puram. The donors were examined for their eligibility to donate blood and briefed the donors on various aspects and importance of blood donation.
The President of Nityananda Seva Sangh, Guptapara Village, Sri Vijayapuram organized the camp and made arrangements for conducting the camp successfully.
The technical team from Blood Centre, G.B. Pant Hospital, Sri Vijaya Puram and A & N AIDS Control Society ensured that the donated blood units are screened for the transfusion transmissible diseases. They also examined the donors for eligibility criteria.
Donors’ certificates were also distributed to the voluntary donors.
