Mayabunder, Sept 18: In a meeting today with Mr. Venkata Chalapathi, DGM of BSNL A&N, and Mr. M.S. Sivakumar, AGM, former Pramukh of Mayabunder, Mr. Abdul Siddique, discussed the pressing issue of poor mobile and internet services in several areas of Mayabunder, particularly Karmatang IX and X.
Residents in these areas, located 10 to 15 kilometers from the main town, often face a complete lack of mobile network coverage, leaving them isolated and unable to access essential services such as ambulances, fire services, and police.
Mr. Siddique also highlighted similar concerns in areas such as Pokadera (Ward No. 04), Danapur Gadda Basti, and especially inside Dr. R.P. District Hospital. Patients admitted to the hospital, particularly those without attendants, are unable to contact their families during emergencies due to the poor network. Government employees posted in these areas face difficulties in reaching out to their loved ones as well.
In response, the BSNL officials assured Mr. Siddique that the construction of a new mobile tower is nearing completion. They confirmed that this development would significantly improve mobile connectivity in the affected areas, including Karmatang IX and X, Pokadera, Danapur Gadda Basti, and Dr. R.P. District Hospital, bringing much-needed relief to residents and government employees alike.
