Port Blair, Apr 16: Mr. Subhajit Basu, Special Judge under POCSO Act, North & Middle Andaman District, Mayabunder has convicted one accused person namely Rupesh Beck, an inhabitant of Forest Valley, Kadamtala Village on 16.04.2024 for committing aggravated penetrative sexual assault upon a minor girl of 17 years age and sentenced to undergo rigourous imprisonment for 10 years for the offence punishable u/s 6 of POCSO Act 2012 and also to pay a fine of Rs. 2000/-
As per the case there was a love affair between accused and victim and due to the said affair they had performed physical relationship in multiple times at the house of accused person at Forest Valley, Kadamtala Village and on medical test at PHC Kadamtala it was detected that the victim became pregnant on the basis of fairy bayan of victim girl, FIR was lodged at PS Kadamtala vide FIR No. 16/2023 dt: 22.05.2023 under section 5j(ii) 5 1/6 of POCSO Act 2012.
The entire case was investigated by SI Shilpi Singha and SI Devesh Raj Singh and under the guidelines of SI Abdul Rahman SHO PS Kadamtala under the supervision of Superintendent of Police, North & Middle Andaman District, Geetanjali Khandelwal (IPS) . The prosecution case conducted by Mr. Keshab Chandra Mondal, Ld. Special Public Prosecutor (POCSO Act).
