Port Blair, Aug 11: Consequent on approval accorded by the Lt. Governor, A & N Islands, Secondary and Senior Secondary Schools of all management (Govt., Govt. Aided, Private Unaided and Local Body Schools) across Islands will be reopened with effect from 16th August 2021 for the students of classes IX to XII.
Specific directions and Standard Operating Procedures to be followed in the schools have been communicated to all the schools through Zonal Officers in order to comply with the COVID-19 protocols as well as to prevent the threat of spread of COVID-19. Students from Classes IX to XII will be permitted to attend school only with the written consent of parents / guardians. At no point of time, more than 300 students can be present in the school.
Special transport and RTPCR/RAT test arrangements are being made for the inter-island bound teachers to enable them to reach their places of postings by 16th Aug 2021 by availing special transport arrangements.
Teachers (except Primary School Teachers) bound to travel to Little Andaman and Nicobar District are directed to undergo COVID-19 tests (RTPCR) at Multi-purpose Hall, Netaji Stadium from 09:00 AM onwards on 12th August 2021 positively and to avail of special shipping schedule to be made available on 13th or 14th August 2021.
Likewise, special boats/ buses will be made available for North and Middle Andaman bound teachers including Shaheed Dweep and Swaraj Dweep from 13th Aug 2021. Teachers may contact Shipping and Transport Department for timely purchase of tickets.
