Port Blair, Jul 20: The Secretary IP&T, Mr. Sunil Kumar Singh, today informed that lockdown has been extended for another one more week i.e. 21st to 27th July 2021 in South Andaman District.
While addressing a COVID-19 media briefing in the conference hall of IP&T, the Secretary further pointed out that shops selling essential and non-essential items shall be allowed to open between 06:00 AM to 08:00 AM by observing COVID Appropriate Behavior (CAB).
He further added that altogether two flights with 365 passengers arrived today at Port Blair Airport and all passengers have undergone RT-PCR test, the results for today’s RT-PCR are awaited.
Among 323 Passengers arrived yesterday (Monday) one passenger was found COVID-19 positive during the RT-PCR test.
The Secretary further informed that 279 people (travelers) bound for N&M Andaman were tested at Ferrargunj in which all were tested COVID-19 negative during Rapid Antigen Test (RAT).
About vaccination drive the Secretary informed that total 1073 beneficiaries got vaccinated today among which 725 people were of 45 and above age group who got their second dose of vaccine and 321 people were of 18-44 age group who got their first dose of vaccine at JNRM vaccination Center, South Andaman. He further urged all 45 and above age group people to take their second dose of vaccine as per schedule.
Later the Director ANIIMS, Dr. A K Mondal further said that at GB Pant Hospital altogether 02 patients were admitted and one patient got discharged. No patient is on oxygen support and on a ventilator.
Deputy Director GB Pant Hospital, Dr. Amitabha De informed that 03 asymptomatic patients got admitted today which have been subsequently transferred from GB Pant Hospital to COVID care center today.
