Port Blair, June 21: During the visit of Shri Suneel Anchipaka, Deputy Commissioner (SA) along with SDM (SA) and AC (U/T) to Birsa Nagar at Atampahad for distribution of ration kits to the needy persons, he had a brief interaction with the general public in the area during which the people raised few issues being faced by them and sought his intervention in solving their grievances.
One of the complaint was regarding non availability ration items at the Fair Price Shop (FPS) in the area. The DC(SA) taking grave concern over the issue immediately directed the officers accompanying him to take up the matter with the Civil Supplies department, following which the Civil Supplies department has delivered the items to the Fair Price Shop in BirsaNagar and the same will be available to the people in the area from tomorrow.
Further complaints were made by the general public regarding two electric poles that had problems, the DC(SA) immediately directed officials to ensure the same, accordingly both poles have since been installed and electricity from one pole will be provided to the area from tomorrow and other needs special wiring which is presently not available and the same shall be made functional very soon.
Regarding the complaint made by the public regarding dumping of chicken waste in the area, the DC(SA) had deputed a team of officers from the Food Safety Wing under District Administration to inspect the same and it has since been sorted and there areno complaints regarding this from the general public as of now.
With the swift response from the District Administration, the issues were resolved in a span of two days and District Administration is committed to reaching out and resolving the grievances of public through all possible interventions.
